Answer: Lion King 2 was a straight to video release in 1998. It's about the relationship between Kiara, daughter of Simba & Nala, and Kovu, the son of Zira, a follower of Scar, Simba's dead uncle. Zira wants Kovu to overthrow Simba and be the king of the Pridelands when he grows up.

Answer: No he is not small. As a matter of fact he is the tallest actor of the Fellowship. He had a scale double, Brett, who did much of the work involved in all three films. In many shots, where it was really John portraying Gimli, it was simply a 'trick' of the camera, through depth perception, allowing the viewers to think he was that small. This 'trick' of the camera was used for the Hobbits as well, who all had scale doubles too. Peter Jackson also had small sets built that were duplicates of the large sets in order to achieve the effect properly.

Question: I don't remember the episode, but I think it was in season 6, there is reference where someone calls someone else "Tennille." Who's that?

Answer: It's from 6x25, TOW the Proposal: Part 2. When Joey enters Central Perk dressed up like a yacht captain and looking for Chandler, Rachel quips, "but you know who did stop in here looking for you? Tennille." Rachel is referring to a successful duo in pop history, Daryl Dragon and Toni Tennille. A husband and wife singing team, known as The Captain and Tennille.

Question: How come Will doesn't know his father was a pirate? And who was his mother?

Answer: Will grew up believing that his father was a merchant sailor. Since that meant that William Turner would spend a good deal of his time away from home, it was easy for his father to keep the secret from Will and perhaps even the mother, that he was in reality a pirate. We don't know specifically who Will's mother was, only that she raised him in England until she died.

Question: How long exactly did the whole journey take up until Aragorn became king? In both the movie and the book?

Answer: In the movies, the journey alone lasted 13 months, until the Ring was destroyed. In FotR, it was only a short amount of time between Gandalf leaving after Bilbo's party for Minas Tirith to look up the scrolls of Isildur and coming back to Frodo to warn him. Once the Ring was destroyed, it was not that long until Aragorn was crowned either. Now in the book, it's very different. Bilbo's feast was the year 3001 and in this year Gandalf and Aragorn start searching for news on Gollum. Between 3004-3008, Gandalf sees Frodo in intervals. During 3009-3017, Gandalf and Aragorn hunt for Gollum, who at some point during this time was captured by Sauron. In 3017, Gollum is released and captured by Aragorn and taken to Thranduil in Mirkwood, Legolas' father. Also during this year, Gandalf reads the scroll of Isildur. In April 3018, Frodo leaves the Shire. March 25 3019, the Ring is destroyed. May 1 3019, Aragorn is crowned King Elessar. In September 3021, Bilbo, Frodo and the Keepers of the Rings leave the Grey Havens.

Question: Since I am deathly afriad of spiders, I closed my eyes for this scene. Can someone tell me how the spider is killed? Also, can someone briefly explain how Gollum and Sam play into the whole scene?

shortdanzr

Chosen answer: Gollum framed Sam with the Lembas crumbs, so Sam stays down below. Gollum leads Frodo into the cave then disappears. He then watches as Frodo is caught in Shelob's web and taunts Frodo loudly. He then sees Frodo fighting and cutting the web, while Shelob moves closer. Frodo runs out of the cave and is attacked by Gollum. Frodo fights him and Gollum falls down the side of the cliff. Frodo is surprised by Shelob who appears on the rocks over him. Shelob then stabs Frodo with her venom and starts wrapping his body in the web material. Sam suddenly appears, having seen the 'missing' Lembas down below and coming up to help Frodo. Sam goes after Shelob. Sam fights with her and stabs her and she then crawls back into her lair. It's not made clear if Shelob dies, but she is badly wounded.

Trading Places (1983)

Question: Can someone please explain to me how Randolph and Mortimer get screwed at the end? I'm not good with the stock market...

Ral0618

Chosen answer: Mortimer and Randolph pay Beeks to bring to them the crop report (oranges) before it goes public. Akroyd, Murphy, Curtis and the butler scheme to get the crop report, before the brothers see it. Now that the 3 partners have the true results of the upcoming crops, before it becomes public, they buy as many shares as they can, which starts to create a frenzy, only to start selling off all their shares at a market high price. Mortimer and Randolph tell their 'floor guy' to "buy, buy, buy", (remember they have a fake crop report). Once the brothers buy many shares at the high price, assuming that they're cornering the market, an announcement is made public on the news about the real crop results for the coming harvest, then they realize too late, that their shares are quickly dropping in price and they yell for their 'floor guy' to "sell, sell, sell". By that time already the bell rings and the machines are turned off, and the brothers start yelling, "Turn those machines back on...." Just to add slightly, the fake crop report that the Dukes have suggest that the orange crop will be poor. That means that the contracts that their floor guy is buying will only go higher once that bad report comes out. However, when the report indicates that the orange crop will be plentiful, the demand for FCOJ futures decreases, causing the price the drop. So the Dukes 'bought high' and 'sold low', which is the absolutely worst thing you can do. Akroyd/Murphy/Curtis 'sold high' and then 'bought low', which netted them a significant profit on the transaction.

Friends (1994)

Answer: "Here he comes to save the day...Underdog..." and "There's no need to fear Underdog is here" are two of the famous sayings that I remember. It was a cartoon that ran in the 60s and 70s. Underdog was modeled after Superman, and he had a canine girlfriend named Sweet Polly. The canine superhero was the secret alter ego of Shoeshine Boy. As for Curious George, he's a monkey that lives with the 'man in the yellow hat' and is a character in children's story books.
