Columbo (1971)

An Exercise in Fatality - S4-E1

Other mistake: It is made clear that the barbell weighs 180 pounds. When we see Janus put it across the neck of Mr. Stafford, he moves it easily, as if it weighs perhaps 30 pounds. Although we know that Janus is very strong, no one could move 180 pounds that easily.

Columbo (1971)

Swan Song - S3-E7

Audio problem: Columbo walks down the steps into Tommy Brown's (Johnny Cash's) house to ask him some questions. He's on a gold-coloured carpet, but his shoes make sounds as if he were on a hard floor. Later, when he leaves, his feet don't make the sounds.

Columbo (1971)

Swan Song - S3-E7

Character mistake: Tommy Brown (Johnny Cash) broke his left leg. Throughout the show, he uses his crutch and then his cane on the left side. It should be on the right (opposite) side.

Ghosts (US) (2021)

Other mistake: When Dr. F. is introducing the Monster in the theatre, he says, "as incredulous as it seems." "Incredulous" means unable to believe. The word he should have used is "incredible", which means unable to be believed.

Airplane (1980)

Factual error: Elaine (the stewardess) is looking for a doctor. She finds Dr. Rumack who's wearing a stethoscope. He has it on backwards. The earpieces should point forward - his are pointing backward.

Elsbeth (2024)

Trivia: Elsbeth suspects that a "suicide" is actually a murder because the victim had recently used teeth whitening strips. This is similar to the last Columbo episode, "Columbo Likes the Nightlife", where the "suicide" victim has recently used mouthwash and trimmed his toenails. In each case they didn't believe a person would do those things right before taking his or her own life. Elsbeth also often turns around with "just one more thing" after walking away, just as Columbo often did.

Night Court (2023)

Chips Ahoy - S2-E10

Revealing mistake: Flobert comes into the court carrying a bag of potatoes which would probably weigh 80 pounds. It must be a rather inaccurate prop because it moves like it only weighs about 15 pounds.

Young Sheldon (2017)

Ants on a Log and a Cheating Winker - S7-E4

Other mistake: Sheldon (in the voice-over) says "it really brought what's his name and I closer together." The grammatically correct expression is "brought what's his name and ME closer together", and a stickler like Sheldon would not make that mistake.

Factual error: In Episode 1 we see a view of the Vegas strip labelled 1956. We see several more recent cars including a 1963 Cadillac Fleetwood.

Caddyshack (1980)

Revealing mistake: No one dressed as Tony D'Annunzio could swing a golf club, and the "swing" he does produce wouldn't send a ball very far.

Fargo (2014)

The Tender Trap - S5-E6

Character mistake: Deputy Olmstead says to Lorraine Lyon, "You think that you're rich 'cause you're better than me." Surely, the line should have been "You think that you're better than me 'cause you're rich."

Suggested correction: No, she actually does mean Lorraine thinks she is rich because she is better than her. And to her, anyone who is not rich is therefore less, or else they would be rich too. It's the same type of thinking but with a different approach as what you suggest. It's about privilege.

lionhead

Interesting. I can see it either way. Thanks for the thought.
