Question: After escaping in the pod, Threepio says, "That's funny; the damage doesn't look as bad out here." But they're too far away to see the ship they were in; all they can see is the Imperial Star Destroyer that "swallowed" their ship up. Was this a humorous character-mistake by Lucas to show how erroneous Threepio can often be? Or could Threepio actually see the small ship the rebels were in (hardly looks possible, given the shot shown when he says it)?

Continuity mistake: We first see from the inside of the door (and therefore backwards) the instructions that Mr. Miyagi leaves for Daniel to paint the house. In the next shot we see the same note from the outside - from Daniel's viewpoint. Clearly they are two different notes. The left & right arrows switch directions, the drawings of the hands change, the position of Miyagi's signature changes, and the placement of some of the exclamation points changes.

Audio problem: When Phil is playing the piano with the jazz group, we hear three glissandos (dragging of the fingers over the keys starting from high to low), yet we see his hands only do one. We hear the first two happen while we see his hands playing something different.

Trivia: The reason we see very little footage of the game against Czechoslovakia is that several fistfights broke out during filming (they were hockey players, after all).

Trivia: Members of the 1980 US Olympic hockey team paid a visit during filming, and described the experience as if being in a "time warp." They were moved by the sight of all the jerseys and amazed at the resemblance the actors had to their 1980 selves. In fact, throughout filming the actors were instructed to call each other by their movie name (whether the camera was rolling or not), so (for example), one actor would say, "Hey O.C.." and both the real Jack O'Callahan and the actor playing him would respond simultaneously.

Factual error: In the movie, just before Mike Eruzione scored the game-winning goal, one of his teammates shouted "Rizzo," and passed the puck to him. That was not the case in the actual game. The puck inadvertently bounced over to where he was; no one intentionally passed it to him.
