Question: Is there a reason why all planets (except earth) have a number attached to their names? Or is that never explained?

Question: Even though Worf keeps jumping from parallel universe to parallel universe, he never encounters his double (i.e., the Worf from the universe he jumped into). At the end, when the Enterprise from Worf's final alternate universe contacts the "real" Enterprise, there's a Worf on the bridge with the "real" crew. Does this mean that every time Worf moved into a different reality, all the other Worfs shifted around as well?
Answer: When Worf jumps to another dimension, whatever Worf is on that ship is immediately sent to the dimension that the original Worf comes from. As an example, when Prime Worf jumps to the dimension where he is married to Counselor Troi, the Worf from that dimension is immediately sent to Prime Worfs dimension. All of the other Worfs stay in their own dimension until Prime Worf is inadvertently sent to one of theirs. After Prime Worf leaves that dimension, the Worf that had been sent to Prime Enterprise would end up back in his own dimension. Not shunted to another one.
Chosen answer: Correct. When Worf jumps, the other Worfs jumped also. That is how the other Enterprise (the one with the same signature as the Worf the episode follows) knew what was going on.

Factual error: In the movie, after the USSR's first goal, the announcer *correctly* announces that the goal was scored by Krutov, who deflected the puck in. In the actual game, she incorrectly announced that it was the player who made the initial slap-shot. (Later in the game, Al Michaels pointed out the correction while doing the play-by-play.).

Trivia: The first scene that the hockey players shot with Kurt Russell was outside the bus, where four of the players tried to get Coach Brooks (Russell) to send Tim Harrer home. The director thought that since this would be the first time the boys interacted with Russell, there would be some genuine looks of awe and/or intimidation.

Deliberate mistake: It wasn't Mike Eruzione shouting his own name that finally convinced coach Brooks to stop making the players do sprints. It was Mark Johnson, who smashed his stick against the glass in a fit of rage.

I had the chance of skating with Ken Morrow and he confirmed that Johnson was the one who stopped the sprints. Morrow said the Brooks knew if he had gotten to Johnson, he got to all the players.

Continuity mistake: During the series of sprints that the coach makes the players do after the game against Norway, the number of players on the ice changes. This is especially evident during the first one they do in the dark (only about 16 or 17 skaters are shown instead of the original 21).

Question: Why is it that on some of the notes David wrote for Monica, he said he hated Teddy, but on others he said he loved him?
Chosen answer: These letters made an appearance in the short-story, "Super-Toys Last All Summer Long," the story that the movie stems from. Both the movie David and literary David are struggling with the concept of reality. David realizes that Teddy is a 'robot', and thus perhaps less 'real' than living beings. David desperately wishes to be 'real' and Monica's 'real' son. Thus, despite his affections and attachments to Teddy, David sometimes distances himself from Teddy because his status as a 'robot' threatens David's own conceptions of his self. He 'hates' the parts of Teddy that are robotic, because he hates these in himself.

Question: What did Gigolo Joe mean when he said, "I am. I was."?
Chosen answer: He wants David to remember him, but he knows he is going to be destroyed, and so gets a bit poetical. "I am" as a message to David to remember Joe was a real person (kind of...) and "I was" because he knows they will never see each other again.
Not quite. "I am" - A commentary on consciousness and what existance really means (or could mean) to a Mecha. "I was" - I am more than just "now". I have a past. I learned, I grew, I experienced. Joe is the philosopher of the film...a family-friendly version of Roy Batty in his final scene in Bladerunner - "Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion...I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain" = "I was."

Question: Where would Andy have been able to get the $10 necessary to buy the rock hammer?
Chosen answer: In the original novella it is revealed that Andy smuggled $500 into the prison inside of his rectum. During an interview in 2004 Robbins incorrectly quoted the amount as being $100. The narration up until Red's release is provided as Red writes his account of the events while still in prison, and employs the same method to smuggle the story out. But since the issue of Andy smuggling in $500 into the prison isn't addressed in the movie, we should assume that he smuggled it in. In addition to this, the wardens scams are described as "near slave labor." From this we can assume that it is possible the inmates are getting paid (an incredibly small) wage. Perhaps Andy, with his financial knowledge, knows how to haggle, barter and stretch a dollar. One last (but not as likely) scenario is that Red allows some sort of lay by system to inmates.

Factual error: The arena in the movie is way too small. The Olympic Ice Arena in Lake Placid had a capacity of about ten thousand, with an entire second level. The only "second level" the arena in the movie has is the small balcony at the end of the ice.

Trivia: The arena used for the Norway game and the arena used for the Olympics were the same. The Norway game's scenes were shot first, then the arena's interior was given a brilliant paint job, then the rest of the movie was shot.

Trivia: The movie mentions the Challenge Cup, where the Soviet national team defeated the NHL all-stars 6-0. Believe it or not, it was the Soviet backup goaltender (Vladimir Myshkin) who played in that game. No wonder coach Tikanov had no reservations about replacing starting goaltender Vladislav Tretjak with Myshkin after the first period vs. team USA.

Trivia: During the final minutes of the big game, there is one shot in the movie where we see four US players skating backward into their own zone in an almost perfectly straight line. The exact same thing happened in the actual game. Bringing back four defenders forced the attacking USSR player to make a long shot from behind the blue line that Craig had no problem saving.

Chosen answer: Planets that don't actually have a specific name tend to be referred to by the name of the star which they orbit and a number indicating how far out they are - so the planet Tau Ceti IV would be the fourth planet out from the star Tau Ceti. Under this system, our planet could be referred to as Sol III, but as it has a given name, that is used instead.
