50 First Dates (2004)

Corrected entry: Done for the sake of our surprise, but grating nonetheless. When Lucy wakes up at the end and sees the tape, she watches it and goes through her now expected shock, but nothing on the tape warns her that a) she's a mother, and b) she's at sea, both of which you'd think would be important to let her know.

Jon Sandys

Correction: If I remember correctly, we can see something about her daughter's birthday, but even if not, we don't get to see the whole tape anyway. There's probably something about it on there.

True Lies (1994)

Corrected entry: Tia Carrera says that the statues "are absolutely priceless. Pity" before they're destroyed to remove the warheads hidden inside. How did the nukes get inside them in the first place?

Jon Sandys

Correction: They are most likely plaster fakes they built around the nukes to sneak them into the country, and she was just being sarcastic.

Friends (1994)

Correction: The shot after he has passed the hitch-hiker is supposed to be after he has picked him up.(You don't know how much time has elapsed between those shots). Also there is not only one person in the taxi. We only see the hitch-hiker now driving it while Phoebe and Joey are asleep in the back and wouldn't be seen from that angle.

Corrected entry: Near the start, when the nun throws Dan Ackroyd's tissue in the bin, listen closely - that's the heaviest tissue I've ever heard. (00:08:35)

Jon Sandys

Correction: It lands with a wet thud after excessive nose wiping. It's meant as a joke.

Ocean's Eleven (2001)

Corrected entry: When George Clooney and Matt Damon first meet, George slides a ticket along the table, which Matt Damon subtly takes, leaving Mr. Clooney quite impressed. But before Matt takes it, George Clooney looks towards the bar, waves his hand, and is then amazed when the ticket's gone. Matt Damon had about 3 seconds to take it - anyone could grab it in that time.

Jon Sandys

Correction: While Danny looks away for about three seconds, if you follow the motion of his hand, it's only away from the ticket for about a second. Given that Linus wouldn't have known that Danny was going to take his hand off the ticket at that moment, it does require quite impressive reflexes to grab it within the one-second window.

Tailkinker

If you watch closely, as soon as George lifts up his hand, Matt goes for the ticket and grabs it all in the same shot. You can see the corner of the ticket briefly flash on the bottom of the screen proving Matt successfully swiped it before the scene cuts. So even just a second is plenty of time to swipe something since the actor was able to do it. Even still, the movie seems to be implying that Matt takes the ticket while George has his hand on it since the camera pans down on George's hand flat on the table with nothing under it at which point George says, "That's the best lift I've seen you make, yet."

Corrected entry: When the swordmaker has agreed to make a sword for Uma Thurman, he says something before going downstairs and the subtitles read "I suggest you spend it practicing". It should be "practising" - it's a verb when spelt with an S, and a noun when spelt with a C (like advice/advise).

Jon Sandys

Correction: Not in American usage, only British.

Day 2: 10:00 P.M.-11:00 P.M. - S2-E15

Corrected entry: Not a mistake as such, just nasty on Mason's part. Jack's flying the plane on a suicide mission, and has a heart-wrenching final talk with Kim where he explains what's about to happen. Only AFTER that phonecall's finished does Mason pop out of the back of the plane and tell Jack to save himself. Seems a bit weird that he was sitting in the back chuckling to himself the whole time Jack was telling his daughter that he was about to die.

Jon Sandys

Correction: It's possible that Mason passed out during the flight and wasn't awake when Jack had his conversation with Kim. This makes sense since Mason isn't heard coughing again until after he shows himself on the plane. Jack is afraid to let Mason fly the plane because he might pass out again.

Corrected entry: Towards the end of the big cage fight, Jet Li kicks a guy lying on the fallen side of the cage. Trouble is, the man starts lifting up before Jet's kick actually connects.

Jon Sandys

Correction: Yes, the guy lifts up, but only because the side of the cage is something of the kind of a trampoline-effect. The guy just drops, hits the "ground" and lifts of by the trampoline-effect. So he kicks him right when he is in the air.

Bjoern_Buller

Corrected entry: When they're refilling the car with plutonium, after putting it in, Doc removes his helmet, and says "it's safe now, everything's lead lined". Fair enough, except he then takes the container the plutonium was in back to the box (which contains a lot more plutonium), flips the lid, and shoves it back in. If that process was safe, which bit of the reloading process was dangerous? (00:26:15)

Jon Sandys

Correction: The safety gear was in case anything went wrong when the plutonium was being sucked into the car, not for handling the plutonium.

Equilibrium (2002)

Correction: It seems to be implied that quite a bit of time has passed between these two shots. If so, Preston could have easily returned to Evidentiary Storage and reacquired the photo to peruse it some more.

X-Men 2 (2003)

Corrected entry: When Nightcrawler is first seen in the White House his face is flesh coloured (makeup, no doubt). As soon as he starts kicking ass, it's blue.

Jon Sandys

Correction: When he peeks through the door and pounces across the floor towards a guard, you can see that the white/flesh is sweating off. There are streaks in it with blue showing through.

X-Men 2 (2003)

Corrected entry: When Professor X asks Wolverine to put out his cigar while in Cerebro, he looks around, and finding no other alternative, stubs it out on the palm of his hand, causing him obvious discomfort. It's not like there's anyone else around to show off to, so why not just stub it out the sole of his boot? Some people say Professor X made him do it, but it's hardly in his nature to deliberately cause someone else pain, even if he'd heal from it quickly.

Jon Sandys

Correction: It was done to show the audience his mutant power of quick healing.

X-Men 2 (2003)

Corrected entry: We're told in the first film that the X-jet is stealthy - invisible to radar, etc. If that's the case, how on earth did 2 F-16s manage to track it down and get a lock on it?

Jon Sandys

Correction: The police told the air base about after they left, and the pilots found it with their eyes. It may be fast, but something as big as the Blackbird is pretty noticable.
