Little Man picture

Corrected entry: When Little Man exits the jail he casts a large shadow, while the nearby guards cast no shadow at all in their shot.

Step Up picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where Tyler's stepsister barges into his room and asks if he's going to jail, he is wearing headphones with wires hanging down from them. In the next scene, when he gets up to leave, the headphones are not connected to anything.

Correction: The headphones are connected to the iPod that he's holding in his hand.

The Good Shepherd picture

Corrected entry: It was announced during the evening party that Britain and France had declared war on Germany. In reality, the declaration was made at 11am (British time) so on the East coast of the USA it would have been 6 o'clock in the morning, not in the evening.

Correction: We saw them gong to the party during the evening, but dancing continues on late into the night, and it is possible they were still dancing at 6 AM.

Lady in the Water picture

Corrected entry: Breathing the air from a glass with a pen is physically not possible that far under water. It is hard to breathe that way at 60cm bellow surface. Any lower and it becomes impossible - the fluid pressure on the lungs is just too high.

Correction: It would indeed be possible to breathe from the glass as both the air in the glass and the "breather" are at the same pressure. This is what a SCUBA regulator does, it provides air at the pressure appropriate for the depth of water. The only time you could not breathe through a straw is if you are breathing air from above the water surface and your lungs are more than 6" deep.

American Dreamz picture

Corrected entry: There is a LOT screwed up about Sally's boyfriend's Class A Army uniform. First, thats not the patch for the 4th Infantry Division. Second, had he been in a combat zone he would have a combat patch on his right shoulder along with the one on his left. Third, he only has two ribbons (Purple Heart and National Defense) on his chest when he should have four (those two plus the Army Service and the Global War on Terrorism Ribbons).

Kevin Flatley

Correction: There is a LOT screwed up with "mistakes" of this type. It is ILLEGAL to correctly represent US military uniforms on television or film. Filmmakers have to make mistakes - ridiculous, but that's the law. If they represented his uniform correctly, they would face prosecution.

Open Water 2: Adrift picture

Corrected entry: The group was in the ocean for at least 4-6 hours. Only Amy wore a life jacket. With the exception of a few characters holding onto the dual mooring hooks at the stern for a few minutes, they all were along the side of the boat treading water for the entirety of the many hours in the water. Elite Coast Guard rescue swimmers would be lucky to exhibit such stamina over such an extended period of time.

JW Pepper

Correction: Treading water for 4-6 hours is possible.

Possible for elite water polo players and coast guard rescue teams. For a bunch of party goers off a day trip? No.

Clerks 2 picture

Corrected entry: During the donkey scene, there is a spot where Becky and Dante go outside. You can see, on the door frame, the reflections of the red emergency flashers of the police and fire trucks that hadn't arrived yet.

moviemogul

Correction: Actually, these are just reflections of the strobe lights and such inside.

RV (2006)

RV picture

Corrected entry: When the Munro's pick up Cassie's friend Gretchen, the crew can be seen reflected in the side of the car. They are also visible when they drop her off. (00:03:20)

Stormbreaker picture

Corrected entry: MI6 in this film appears plain stupid. Not only do they leave Alex looking nothing like a computer geek, they also fail to remove his normal mobile phone with crucial details on it, which break his cover. For the Special Operations Division of MI6 they seem to be doing many plain stupid things going way beyond character mistakes.

KingofallSamurai

Correction: First - you are stereotyping the features of a computer geek. There are many film characters that don't look too geeky, like Seth Green in the Italian Job etc. Secondly - maybe Mi6 didn't know about him taking his phone with him and thought he was intelligent enough not to. So it was a character mistake on Alex's behalf.

The Wicker Man picture

Corrected entry: On the DVD in the alternate ending version, Nicolas Cage's legs/knees are broken by the colony people. He is then hauled up into the Wicker Man by his legs. Seems like he would be screaming in pain if his legs/knees were broken.

Correction: Not necessarily. People react to pain in different ways. Shock can make a person almost oblivious to pain.

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer picture

Corrected entry: At one point, Alan Rickman's character addresses the Viscount as "your Grace". The correct form of address for a Viscount is "your Lordship". Dukes are addressed as "your Grace".

Correction: Character error.

A Prairie Home Companion picture

Corrected entry: Throughout the movie, GK is talking into the back of the microphone on the lectern. The mike, an RCA 77D, has a prominent screw hole on the back side, which allows the insertion of a screwdriver to change the pickup pattern. The front side, the side to the camera, is the side that would be used in this application; the back side would be dead.

Correction: This is not a mistake; its a famous trick of us old hands in the business. I am an old radio engineer, and still proudly own one of these famous and classy microphones. The switch mentioned has a bi-directional "peanut pattern" position, where the 77D (or 77DX) can pick up equally well front and back; a useful trick for allowing two people to "work" a single microphone in a radio studio dramatic show, or "hiding" the switch on a live stage or televised show; also works for a movie. See pattern diagrams, below photo of switch, at http://www.coutant.org/3.html to verify.

Amazing Grace picture

Corrected entry: There is a scene where Wilberforce and Barbara are walking in the garden, when he is taking his rest cure. He asks her for her opinion on the war with France, and she replies that Britain should 'settle with Napoleon'. This scene is set in 1797, and Napoleon did not come to power until 1799.

Correction: In 1797, Napoleon had just concluded a major campaign against Italy and Austria and was becoming powerful back home in France. Britain was the only major European power that was still in a position to oppose France in 1797. Wilberforce himself introduced a resolution in May of 1797 regarding the war with France. So it seems very probable that negotiations with the French general would be on Parliament's mind in 1797.

Dreamgirls picture

Corrected entry: In the montage showing the release of the various "Dreams" albums, the cover art on several of them is based on Supremes records in the '60s. Most prominiently, "Meet the Dreams" is almost identical to "The Supremes A Go Go."

Correction: It's well known that the entire movie, as well as the original Broadway musical, is based upon the history of Diana Ross and the Supremes.

Zoom picture

Corrected entry: In the beginning of the film, when Spencer Breslin is about to dive into the pool, several times we can see a sign (behind the women) that says "No Diving Allowed". Why is there a high-dive board if there is no diving allowed?

wizard_of_gore

Correction: Because you can still jump feet first off of a high diving board.

Correction: Actors sometimes choose not to be credited, particularly in cases where an actor who would normally play lead roles is playing a relatively minor role. This is by choice and thus is not a mistake.

My Super Ex-Girlfriend picture

Corrected entry: On the second date, when Jenny "persuades" the cab to back up, the driver is not wearing eyeglasses. In the next scene, as the cab wends its way down the street, he is.

Correction: Enough time has passed between shots that the driver could have put the glasses on.

Jackass Number Two picture

Corrected entry: When Johnny does the Big Red Rocket stunt for the first time, brightly coloured floats are visible in the scene. After the rocket explodes and the stunt is set up again, Johnny launches successfully, but this time the floats are missing.

Correction: Not a mistake since revealing issues and camera crews are often visible during Jackass in general.

Pan's Labyrinth picture

Corrected entry: After Mercedes sticks him with the knife in the back and shoulder, the captain moves around as if unhurt (except for the mouth cut), despite the moderate damage suggested by the knife cuts.

Correction: "Moves around as if unhurt"? He collapses to his knees after the initial stabs, and almost completely falls over after his mouth is cut. He is then seen staggering out of the doorway, stiff and angry. He simply is acting like it doesn't hurt in front of his men, so he doesn't tarnish his image, but it is clear that he is hurt very badly from his initial reactions. Not to mention, shock from the injuries would also set in and take away some of the pain.

Flyboys picture

Corrected entry: When Lowry's bottle falls to the floor, he says that it's a 100 euro bottle of Cognac. The currency in France was francs until 2002 when they changed to euros.

Correction: Not so. He said it's a "100 year old bottle of Cognac".
