Corrected entry: About a minute away for the ending, there is a shot of Langdon standing in the glass floor (which is filmed from the underground bottom of the glass pyramid in the museum). You can see the reflection of the camera and cameraman in the glass pyramid, going left to right.
Corrected entry: When the family leaves the gas station to take the dirt road shortcut, the sun is casting long shadows as if it were approaching sunset. A few moments later, after the tires get blown out, the shadows are very short as if the sun were almost directly overhead. The inconsistency of the sunlight's shadows continues throughout the entire first part of the movie until the first nightfall scene.
Correction: The sun was casting long shadows due to the fact that it was early morning, not sunset. Bob tells the shop-keeper that he loves driving at night, which is an indication that he had just finished a long night. Bob is constantly reminded that he looked very tired and was grouchy, another indication that he had driven throughout the night. Another observation to make is that there is a definite time-lapse between when they leave the station to when they are sabotaged, which explains the change in shadow.
Corrected entry: When Rose first meets Cybil, she is wearing sunglasses, even though it is too dark for them.
Correction: Cybil is an officer riding a motorbike. She wears the sunglasses at all times to protect her eyes from the wind, bugs, and road grit while driving. During the day they protect her eyes from sunlight, and at night they protect her eyes from the headlights of oncoming cars which would otherwise render her temporarily "blinded" while her eyes readjusted to the darkness.
Corrected entry: In the scene on the bridge when the car is blown up by a missile and Ethan is thrown into the car, this wouldn't actually happen. If he was going to get pushed away by the blast, he would have just been sent forward, as the shock wave from the blast travels straight forwards through the air. He should have just fallen towards the camera, not sideways into the car.
Correction: Incorrect. If that missile went straight down and hit then he would go forward, but it came from the side. Because of that the shockwave was going in the opposite direction that the missile was going, therefore throwing him into the car.
Corrected entry: When Lightning is getting offered to be the new face of Dinoco, the head of Dinoco says "Hey Light, how about coming over here and talking to me for a minute." After he says that Lightning comes over and he's about 2 feet away from the head. But for the rest of the conversation, McQueen's much closer to him.
Correction: The second shots are from a much closer perspective and a slightly different angle. It's impossible to say whether the characters are actually closer together or just appear to be because of the changed perspective.
Corrected entry: When the Persian messenger waits by the large well for the Spartan king to contemplate submission or otherwise, the Spartan king looks at a woman hugging a little girl. The Spartan woman appears to be wearing a modern day cupped bra under her clothing.
Correction: I have seen this scene more than once and I don't see a bra strap or outline of one.
Corrected entry: At the beginning of the film when Nic Cage takes the firefighters into WTC 1 after a couple of minutes have gone by, Nic Cage is told to evacuate the building from his radio, he radios back saying "is there something happening with tower 2?". Just after he says this the building he is in collapses. This is a factual error, we all know that it is building 2 or the south tower that collapses first, not building 1 or the north tower.
Correction: Cage and crew are not in Tower One. They are on the concourse, beneath and between the two towers, headed toward One as firemen are heading from One to Two. They discuss that only one plane has hit, not two (which is some of the bad info that was going around at the time). They also know about the Pentagon attack (9:37am), so it's well after that. Cage asks the firemen if something is happening at Two because he's unaware of the second plane crash. Then, Two collapses (9:59am) and the falling materials come straight down, then move outward all around at ground level and below, in the concourse. Note the debris is flying sideways before some collapsing of the concourse occurs. It's that collapse that traps them in the concourse, not under One. About 7 minutes later in the film (29 minutes real time), Tower One falls, and they are again battered by debris while trapped. No mistake.
Corrected entry: When Ricky, Cal, and Lucious are walking outside the hospital, Cal asks Ricky for permission to win a couple of races. However, on the DVD subtitles, it says that Cal asked to win a few, not a couple.
Correction: That makes it a DVD manufacturing mistake- not one of the movie.
Corrected entry: In Sarah's shower scene, when the lightbulb breaks, the entire room goes dark. In the next few shots, several light fixtures are seen throughout the room - enough that one lightbulb going out isn't going to make that significant a difference in the overall lighting of the room.
Correction: It's magic. The lightbulb didn't break on its own, and the darkness wasn't natural either.
Corrected entry: In the final game against Xavier, they refer to number 19 on Xavier, whose name is simply given as "Crawford", as "Xavier's All-American tailback" when he fields the kickoff. Tailback is simply another word for halfback, but he is playing wide receiver the rest of the game and is never at the halfback position (hence he has to be guarded by Nate Ruffin, the other team's ace cornerback). As a wide receiver, he would not be announced as a "tailback".
Correction: In the Game of Xavier vs Marshall, college rules dictate a ball with stripes on each end. Professionals use the solid football. The game ball given to the college president had no stripes and all scenes of that football game for the movie had no stripes on the ends.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Alex is putting the tray of food into the oven it shows a banana on the tray. When it shows the tray again, the banana is no longer on the tray.
Correction: If you look closely as he pulls the tray out, the banana is a little black crispy twig, as a banana would be if you baked it.
Corrected entry: When they clean up the Hospital When Sherman is washing the floor, of the mental hospital, the paint bucket beside him has brown paint around the edges. But when the shot returns, he has blue paint that he dips the mop into. (00:17:10)
Correction: Since the walls in the room he's in have a brown and blue colour scheme and since the movie at this point is a montage it's fair to say this is not a mistake.
Corrected entry: When the plane hits turbulence luggage in the overhead compartments begin to fall on passengers. There is a shot where a piece of luggage falls and hits the baby on the head. The mother has no reaction to this and a few scenes later the baby is okay. A baby that small being hit on the head would cause severe head injury and the baby would not be able to recuperate that quickly.
Correction: I just watched this movie and the luggage does not hit the baby at all. It comes close but it actually falls and hits the corner of the blanket that is just hanging there.
Corrected entry: On Lex Luthor's Russian-made missile launcher, the second button from the left is labelled "otkaz", which is presumably intended to mean "abort". The correct word would be "otmena". While "otkaz" is a general synonym, in a technological context it means, rather unfortunately, "equipment failure".
Correction: It must be the panel reset in the event of an equipment failure, rather than the abort button. We have such resets on all the machinery I work with.
Corrected entry: In the marriage scene you see Louis put her ring on the third finger of her left hand. When they are dancing the ring is now on the middle finger of the left hand.
Correction: Time has passed and she had plenty of time to switch it to another finger, for example if the ring was too large for her ring finger.
Corrected entry: Carlin forces the other agents to confess about the fact that they were really looking at the past in real-time and not looking at 4 day old footage. The way he does this is to shine a laser pointer into the equipment. It took amazing amounts of effort and machinery to send any item back in time. Even accepting that the infinitesimal size of the laser beam's particles would make it very easy to send the beam: WHY would it work that way pointing it at a MONITOR? It's just a viewing screen and is only 1-way. Further proof that it's just a monitor and not a 2-way portal: When they zoom through the scenery with the cameras in space (and yes, they were honest about the placement of the cameras) the screen shows that it takes a bit of time to render/display the image.
Correction: Remeber Carlin asks if the person in the past knows that they are being watched and the scientists don't know the answer for sure. It seems apparent that they do have some effect on the past just using the view portal and without using the larger machine (e.g. the girl comes out of the shower 'knowing' she is being watched). Therefore it is entirely possible that shining the laser also had some effect on the other side of the timeline too - it certainly caused a minor power fluctuation. It just happens that the machine for sending larger things through the wormhole is just bigger and takes even more energy.
Corrected entry: Throughout the movie, the patting of the feet is out of time to the feet themselves.
Correction: The tapping feet are NOT out of time. Watch a tap dancer and you'll know that they use both the front (toes/ball) and back (heel) while dancing. This is the major premise of the whole film - the filmmakers made certain to get this right.
Corrected entry: When Boog and Elliot are raiding the convenience store, there is a shot of Elliot with his head inside a gumball machine. There's no room for his one good antler so the animators just "dead ended" it.
Correction: Wrong - the antler is there, inside the gumball machine - in its entirety.
Corrected entry: Isabella's fingernails change length several times throughout the movie. They go from long to short, then back to long again several times.
Correction: Most fashionable women now (my 25 year old daughter included) use those press-on nails, and from day to day, even from morning to afternoon, they will sport normal short nails or long cultured looking nails, depending on how the mood takes them.
Corrected entry: Lon has terrible eyesight and can't see past his nose, yet he cheered for Zack after he was able to knock down the bunion pads during the competition.
Correction: Lon does have a little eyesight, so he could have seen "something" fall into Zak's hands, and from the rest of the crowd's cheering reaction, it's not surprising that he could have figured out that his friend did something good, prompting him to cheer, "Yes!"
Correction: No, that's Langdon's reflection.
