Corrected entry: Mike's father dies in 2021, as it says on his tombstone. Back when Mike was fat and just got promoted again, he tells the remote "Just take me home" and fast forwards to him arriving home. While he's in the car, the radio is heard saying that the year is 2017. After the dog knocks Mike over, the remote fast forwards to the end of his illness. Donna says he has been recovering for 6 years. This is right before he finds out his father died, so his father would have had to died in 2023 if it really has been 6 years.
Correction: In addition to the previous correction, Ben tells his dad "he died a while back", a comment appropriately that indicates quite a while or in this case, two years.
Corrected entry: Dev has a hidden tribute to David Beckham embedded into his character. Dev has a tattoo on his hand that says Victory; David Beckham has one on his hand that says Victoria, his wife's name. Dev's wife is named Rhea. Put his wife's name and the tattoo into an equation, Victory + Rhea = Victoria.
Correction: Unless you can cite some interview or other source that shows that this was intentional on the part of the filmmakers, then it's purely coincidental, which invalidates it as trivia.
Corrected entry: In the opening scene, when the meteor approaches earth, it is accompanied by a rumbling noise. Space is a vacuum. There is no sound.
Correction: Most science fiction films show sound in space as a dramatic effect. Movie convention, not a mistake.
Corrected entry: At the scene where locals have shown up to try out for the team, the potential players break out in a spontaneous version of the Eagles fight song, to demonstrate their loyalty to the team. The only problem being that they get the words wrong. The Eagles fight song begins "Fly Eagles Fly"; and the locals in the film sing "Fight Eagles Fight", which is how the second verse, not the first, begins.
Correction: If you listen to the audio commentary with the real Vince Papale he says that the song was diffrent in the 1970s and the way they put it in the movie is how it was sung.
Corrected entry: When Andy suffered an allergic reaction from eating the peanut-filled cookie, he was given an EpiPen injection, but no medical attention. The epinephrine in an EpiPen only lasts for about 15 minutes in a person's system until symptoms return, yet Andy seemed perfectly fine well after receiving the treatment.
Correction: Accourding to the official EpiPen "Common Questions and Answers" (http://www.epipen.com/epipen_questions.aspx) it is possible that "the effects of epinephrine can wear off and there is a chance of a second reaction" and you should go to the emergency room. This leaves also the possibility that it won't wear off at all and everything will be fine. Seems like Andy got lucky.
Corrected entry: The district attorney knows that Eddie is about to testify against a corrupt cop (they showed Eddie a picture) and then all of a sudden every cop in the city is looking for Mosely and Eddie? What DA wouldn't have noticed this and ordered the police to back off?
Correction: Character decision. Besides, it is implied that the DA was corrupt as well.
Corrected entry: After Gus has given Jerry his nickname "Fairy Jerry," when Gus, Clark, and Richie leave Pizza Hut, Mel gets out of his car and tells Gus it was great the way he stood up to Jerry. How would he know? He was outside when this happened, and he was in his car too.
Correction: One of the kids inside, his son for example, could have run out right after it happened and told him. Its very possible considering so many people were around to witness it happening.
Corrected entry: The time sequence between the first movie and this one is completely incredible; in the end of the first one Julia Stiles graduates from med school and in the sequel she's studying medicine in Denmark; near the end of the first movie, the Eddie's father is sick or dies, but in the sequel he's completely okay and happy to be around.
Correction: In the first movie Paige recieved her under-graduate degree not her doctorate. We know this because she shares her graduation with all her other non-pred-med friends.
Corrected entry: The scientific paper about a case study concerning Jason Treborn only deals briefly with him. Most of the text contains historical background information about research concerning schizophrenia and has nothing to do with Treborn's case at all.
Correction: Scientific papers frequently reference previous studies and research in the study it is currently discussing. It's not unusual.
Corrected entry: When Julia is about to go and meet her fiance on the roof top of her apartment, she gets on a motorcycle and it is very obvious, when she takes off (with the helmet on), that the person riding is a guy in a dress. (03:04:10)
Correction: This is not a mistake because it was put in as a joke.
Corrected entry: While realism was obviously not a huge priority for the filmmakers, the prison conditions border on absurd. Anyone who has ever even remotely studied prisons can tell you that you can't (among many things) wander around at will, have lethal poisons, etc. The most laughable of all are the numerous times when curtains are put over cell doors to obscure the view in; this would earn you an immediate search and probably a trip to solitary in a real prison.
Correction: The prison conditions do not 'border on absurd' they ARE absurd, and that is intentional for comedy's sake. 'Anyone who has even remotely studied prisons'? Anyone who has been to any kind of jail at all can tell you that you can not visit each others cells, wander around at will, or have METAL eating utensils, etc. Come on, REALLY?.
Corrected entry: Several times throughout the movie, the dogs' and puppies' tails are wagging at a time when they are supposed to be upset or scared.
Correction: Dogs tails wag when they're upset sometimes. My sister was bit by a pittbull but he started to wag his tail after that. And he knew he was in trouble.
Corrected entry: Nacho is raised in a Mexican orphanage by Mexican monks. So why, as a child, does he have an English Bible in his drawer? It couldn't be from his mother since his mother was a Lutheran missionary and the Catholic monks would regard a Lutheran version of the Bible as heresy.
Correction: Why wouldn't it be from his mother? We don't know all the details of what happened in the past. And a Lutheran Bible would not be considered heresy by Catholics. It is the same Bible with the exception that the Catholic Bible contains the Apocryphal Books. If the Bible was given by his mother, it is likely they would let him keep it as it is one of only a few links to his biological family.
Corrected entry: The scene where the kids fool the security cameras by placing the walkie-talkies with video capture up to them is impossible. The views from the security cameras would be horribly out of focus looking at something that close, and would be impossible to mistake for a real image.
Correction: Not really. Security cameras are auto-focus, and are able to focus on close ups. I have a camera that can take sharp, clear, closeups from as little as 1 centimeter away.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Miller is asking Hutch for advice on Silent Hill 4: The Room, Hutch gives him a strategy that only works on the first Silent Hill game.
Correction: Character mistake.
Corrected entry: As Rome is walking forward and shooting at the police car, the camera switches to an overhead view at Rome and you see the casings being ejected upward into the air and then falling down. This would not be possible, as pistols eject spent casings up and to the right over the user's shoulder.
Correction: When firing semi-automatic pistols, I've had shell casings fly to the left, slightly forward and even had one hit me square between the eyes! Also certain pistols such as the Glock are designed to be ambidextrous and can throw shells straight up.
Correction: He "finds out" in 2023 that his father died, but his father actually died two years earlier as is shown on the tombstone. This explains the surprised look on the faces of others when he reacts the way he does to his father's death, as it happened already, and they think he should have known.
