Corrected entry: During the chase scene, where the people on motorcycles are pursuing the car, they shoot Julian Moore's character. The first shot shows a view from the inside of the car, and the windshield covered in blood. However, when they come back to that shot (after they show her dead), the windshield is clear of blood.
Corrected entry: When Christie knocks out Helena during the rain fight, Helena is lying in a large puddle of rain water. In the next subsequent shot, she is lying in wet sand.
Correction: That entire fight consists of shots some time apart from each other. Just like the shot in which Helena is holding and pulling Christie, and in the next shot (without realistically enough time), the roles are reversed.
Corrected entry: As the two characters fight near the end, the helicopter is hovering right around rooftop level of the large skyscrapers downtown (clearly seen out the door). This would place the helicopter right around 1000 feet. As they fight, the helicopter ascends for perhaps 10 or 20 seconds. When the characters fall, it takes our hero 91 seconds from helicopter to splat. After about 15 seconds, he would be at terminal velocity: about 120 mph. Let's subtract that 15 seconds and just calculate he fell for 76 seconds at 120 mph (176 feet per second). That means he covers 13,376 feet. So, with the first 15 seconds, at least 15,000 feet. Now, the service ceiling for the Eurostar AS350 helicopter they were on is about 20,000 feet, so it could have been high enough, but its rate of climb is only about 2,000 feet per minute, so to reach the altitude from which our heroes fell, it would have needed about 6.5 minutes of climbing, not 20 seconds. There is no way the helicopter could reach the specified altitude in the specified time.
Correction: All well and good except that the climb to altitude was most likely time compression, used frequently in films. Filmmakers rarely use real time to heighten suspense.
Corrected entry: In the shot where Ozzie gets up after playing dead for the first time in the movie, his tail sweeps across the grass yet the grass doesn't bend as Ozzie's tail goes over it.
Correction: Yes it does.
Corrected entry: All of the hostages are considered suspects because they blend in with the bad guys, as they were all forced to don matching jumpers. The police are told that there is one woman with the criminals and that she has large breasts. So, while questioning one of the female hostage/suspects, the police ask her to unzip her jumper so they can check out how buxom she is. When she unzips her jumper, she is wearing all of her clothes underneath. This should have revealed her as one of the criminals - because the true hostages had been forced at gunpoint to remove their clothes before putting on the jumpers, which surely the true hostages would have communicated to the police.
Correction: There are two problems with this. Firstly we never see every single part of the plan. We know part of the plan was to confuse and disorientate the hostages. Taking off their clothes was one step but we don't see whether they told them to put them back on later and then put their jumpsuits back. Secondly the fact that she was wearing clothes is hardly solid evidence. It might arise suspicion but not much more.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Liam Neeson is crossing the salt flat and falls off his horse. You can see a truck or vehicle pass by in the far background. (01:32:30)
Correction: I have watched the scene where Liam Neeson falls off his horse over and over again, and there is no vehicle or truck far in the background. There is only shimmering light.
Corrected entry: Early in the film there are helium-filled balloons tied to ribbons decorating the ship's lobby and ballroom. After the ship has capsized, these balloons are hanging upside down. This doesn't make sense, because if the balloons were filled with helium they would still be pointing upwards, and not just hanging as though only filled with air.
Correction: Not all the balloons have helium in them; the ones that fall from the nets are not helium filled neither are the ones hanging around the ballroom/dining room. If you look, before the ship rolls over, the balloons are already hanging down. This is not a mistake.
Corrected entry: In the scene where the boy speaks for the first time in 9 months and he has left the family car to cry about 30 metres from them, the shadows formed by the boy and his sister (when she joins him to offer comfort) point in a direction completely opposite to the rest of the family back at the van when there is a close up on them. So as they move from one group to the other, it's obvious one group was filmed at different times of day.
Correction: Not true, the shadows cast by the family in this entire scene are relatively the same direction. They all go to the left of the group and the boy. The angle is the same each shot. The only difference in the shots is exposure, which is why one shot looks a tad bit darker than the other. They were filmed at relatively the same time of day.
Corrected entry: When Madea's foster child comes downstairs for breakfast on her first morning, she comes to the kitchen table and her place setting is there (plate, glass, napkin). Madea makes a comment and the camera shifts back to the foster child. Another plate has mysteriously appeared that is covered with tin foil.
Correction: When Nilli comes down for breakfast Madea tells her that she is late and doesn't have time to eat. Madea tells Nikki she will have to take it with her and wraps the plate in foil and hands it to her.
Corrected entry: When Danny and Maddy share the wine, the red cap on the jug appears and disappears repeatedly without explanation.
Correction: You can see Maddy take off the red cap and then holding it in her hand.
Corrected entry: Max would have died from hypothermia if he stayed in the filling pool that long. The water coming into the pool would have been very cold.
Correction: The time of year wouldn't have allowed the water to be all that cold. The water from the discharge pipes would likewise irrigate the vineyard and provide the water for indoor plumbing for the bathroom, kitchen etc. Also note that after the tennis game between Max and Francois how both were soaked in sweat.
Corrected entry: When JB opens the guitar case in the beginning he only unlatches one lock. But there are about four or five that still had to be unlatched before he opened it.
Correction: One clip will hold the case closed when you're carrying it. Its entirely possible there was only one clip done up.
Corrected entry: When Cameron Diaz is drinking hot chocolate with Jude Law and his daughters, she has foam on her top lip and when the camera goes away and comes back, there is much more foam than before.
Correction: Like you say, the camera "goes away and comes back". She was out of frame long enough to have taken a new sip of the chocolate, leaving more whipped cream on her lip.
Corrected entry: A picture of the real John 'Doc' Bradley taken of him with President Truman shows him using crutches (remember he had the leg wound and the operation took place after the war bond tour), however, in the movie 'Doc' did not have crutches when he met the President.
Correction: True as that may be, this movie does not claim 100% historical accuracy, so consider this artistic license on the part of the filmmakers, for dramatic purposes.
Corrected entry: When the prisoners are being led through the city, there is a shot of a horse's skull on a vendor's stand. Horses were not native to the Americas, but were introduced by the Spaniards.
Correction: This is a perpetuated myth similar to that of "slaves built the pyramids". The heavy Spanish horse was introduced, but native horses have been in the Americas since 12,000 BC. There have been written accounts of visitors having seen horse and wagons in such places as ancient Mexico (Hui Shen tells of his account in the 5th century). And some native Americans tell of stories of their ancestors having horses before the Spaniards arrival.
Corrected entry: It would seem highly unlikely that Sarah Jessica Parker's dress would be a perfect fit for Lindsay Lohan, who wears it to the masquerade ball. I believe Parker is taller than Lohan, not to mention a different body type.
Correction: A lot of highly unlikely things happen in this movie. Remember, everything that happens to Lohan is based on luck.
Corrected entry: When Taj drives up to the frat house in the beginning, its covered in vines. The flashback shortly after shows the same building with same accumulation of vines. They wouldn't have been that developed or there at all in 1965.
Correction: It is not a flashback. It is Taj's fantasy of what his father was like in the Fox and the Hounds, which we later find out was a lie. So the building could have the vines in Taj's fantasy.
Corrected entry: When the stabbed guy in bed in the village tells Cindy about how the little boy got killed, and she starts remembering the episode again, look to the bottom left of the screen. The supposedly dead woman lying on the ring with her head leaning on the lower rope blinks. (01:00:40)
Correction: This woman does not blink at all. I have watched this in slow-mo 3 times.
Corrected entry: During the "almost dance off" at the homecoming dance, Britney takes off here earrings and then in the next scene they are back on.
Correction: Actually, if you watch the scene closely, you can see as the camera changes back and forth between "hold my sh**" and the actual cheer scene, you can seen Britney putting her earrings back on, starting with the left ear.
Corrected entry: Ice melts from the outside in, so the dam should have melted at the same time as all the water behind it.
Correction: Yes ice does melt that way but the water behind the dam was most likely a river that had been blocked by the movement of a glacier. Ice dams did exist during the ice ages, some of them holding vast amounts of water and they still exist today in places such as Iceland. Here is some information on ice dams: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_dam.
Correction: Going frame by frame in that scene, the blood splatter (effect) is directed onto the camera only and the windshield is not covered in blood at all.
