The Siege picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where the government leaders are discussing whether or not to deploy the Army to New York, Bruce Willis, as the general, rattles off an assortment of military units and vehicles available. He ends by saying something about every soldier carrying an M-16 A-1 assault rifle. The active Army has not used the A-1 for many years, they switched to the A-2 in the late 80's or early 90's. A general should know this.

Correction: Actually, there's no real reason he would (at his rank, that's a very mundane detail), and if he did know, in heated discussion, there's every reason to believe it possible that he'd revert to 'A1' out of old habit. And speaking to non-service persons, the difference would be insignificant, so that even if he realized a moment later that he'd mis-spoke, he'd have no reason to think anyone else caught it. Or if they did, that they'd care. Ultimately, a character error, not a movie mistake.

Soldier picture

Corrected entry: Why on earth is the hold of the garbage disposal ship pressurised with a breathable atmosphere?

Correction: One word answer: AIR. The garbage hold is filled gradually as rubbish accumulates. If it was kept in vacuum it would have to be recompressed every time someone wanted to throw something away, and all that precious air pumped out to keep it in vacuum. Not terribly wise in airless space.

A Night at the Roxbury picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where Steve and Doug are shaking their heads, it clearly shows the window next to Doug breaking. However, in the next scene the window is fixed.

Correction: The window isn't fixed, they just removed the glass splinters (or would you drive the whole evening with broken glass next to you?).

Wild Things picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where they are all sitting in the court room and the camera is panning across their faces, you can clearly see a guy sitting next to the aisle giving a thumbs-up to the camera.

Correction: He's just idly tapping his hand on the back of the bench and his thumb happens to be extended. He's not "giving" anyone the thumb's up, he's just acting bored.

The Negotiator picture

Corrected entry: After the marksman has a clear shot of Danny but refuses to shoot him he is asked to stand down and is presumably replaced. There is then a scene with Danny in the, now broken, window where we see 4 or 5 laser sights on his chest and one on his forehead. One of those is coming from the helicopter and one may come from the replacement shooter but where do all the others comes from and what were those marksmen doing when there was a clear shot earlier? It's stretching credibility to imagine that one marksman was replaced by four new ones in the few seconds that have passed.

tw_stuart

Correction: When the first marksman has a shot, Danny is at a different window (two were broken by the invading policemen), and was slightly inside, meaning only one person had a clear shot. The second time, he's standing at a window further to the center of the building and is right at the edge, so more marksmen would have a line of fire.

Halloween: H20 picture

Corrected entry: When Charlie and his girlfriend are in the elevator thing after Charlie gets killed, his head is facing forward and then 2 seconds later it's facing the girl and she didn't touch him.

Correction: No, she never touched the head but when she got in and the elavator started moving the head was knocked and fell to the side. Since the body is dead it would be very limp and the head wouldn't be supported.

Pleasantville picture

Corrected entry: When Bud's mom gets scared because she turned "coloured," Bud puts makeup on her to hide the colour. When he is done, she is entirely black and white again. But how did he get the inside of her mouth, irises and edges of her eyes, and hair to change back to black and white?

Correction: The irises of her eyes, if looked at closely during this scene, remain in colour.

Dark City picture

Corrected entry: At the end of the movie during the apocalyptic battle between John Murdoch and The Strangers, Dr. Schreber and all of The Strangers are being sucked into the city but when they cut to the shot of the city moments later Dr. Schreber is the only one visible and there are no Strangers.

Correction: He's the only one visible in the shot. The Strangers are simply not visible. This isn't unusual since the shot was focussing on his reaction to what was happening.

The Prince of Egypt picture

Corrected entry: When the high priests are naming the Egyptian gods, they mention "Vishnu" at one point. Vishnu the Preserver is a Hindu god, not an Egyptian god.

Correction: According to the lyrics at http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/princeofegypt/playingwiththebigboys.htm, the priests do not mention Vishnu. In fact, they mention Reshpu/Resheph, a definitely Egyptian god (god of plagues).

The Big Hit picture

Corrected entry: When Melvin is kissing the girl in front of the video store and Cisco rearends him you can see the rear of the Firebird cave in and the Jag's front bumper touches its rear tyres. When they are stuck in the tree they climb out of the hatchback and it is fine. (01:16:04 - 01:16:45)

EMTurbo

Correction: Actually, the collision is shown from the right side of both cars, so we can only see the damage on that side. All subsequent shots of the car are from the front/left side. If the Jag hit at even a slight angle to the Firebird, the damage would be much more severe on one side than the other.

American History X picture

Corrected entry: When Danny is first typing up his paper on his brother Derek, the first shot of the scene opens with a close up of the computer screen where there are two opening lines of his paper beginning with "American History X; by Daniel Vinyard." He is also swinging his necklace from side to side just a few inches away from the computer screen. In the very next shot, the opening of his paper contains four lines, instead of two. It also shows him swinging his necklace at least six inches below where it was in the previous shot. In addition, while they are impossible to read, considering the amount of space the first two lines take up in his text document, they cannot possibly read "American History X; by Daniel Vinyard.

Correction: This scene is not shown in real-time - it's a small montage showing that Danny is having a hard time writing the essay. As such, the number of lines, font size, heading, etc. keeps changing as Danny is rewriting, erasing or starting over altogether, and we are only shown glimpses of how he is working with the essay. To show, in real time, 30 minutes of a school kid struggling with the opening of an essay would not be very interesting for the movie-goers, either.

Velvet Goldmine picture

Corrected entry: Arthur realises that Brian Slade is actually Tommy Stone by recognising Brian's PA Shannon in a televised press conference. However, according to the story, Arthur never sees Shannon, much less on the morning after the orgy which he has a supposed flashback to, so how can he possibly recognise her 10 years later?

Correction: Arthur doesn't realize that Brian Slade is Tommy Stone because of Shannon. He makes the connection when the computer brings up Brian's full name: Thomas Brian Stoningham Slade.

Almost Heroes picture

Corrected entry: The Indian woman has a bikini tan line above her rear in the bathing scene. Bikinis didn't exist in the 1800's.

Correction: Native Americans were known to have worn loincloths, which could produce similar looking tan-lines.

Six Days, Seven Nights picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where they are getting the old planes' floats down the white rapid river, and Quin kind of, goes down with the floats, he says "I'm fine. Now it's your turn." But if you look carefully, his lips don't move.

Correction: The shot is a close up of Anne Heche with Harrison Ford's voice over - he isn't even visible in shot and you cannot tell where he is or what he is doing.

The Horse Whisperer picture

Corrected entry: When Grace is watching the video of Pilgrim jumping rails, the horse is not the same one used throughout the rest of the movie. The horse on tape has a blaze (white stripe) down the middle of his face. Throughout the rest of the movie, Pilgrim has a white star on his head.

Correction: It's never stated that she is riding Pilgrim in that video.

Practical Magic picture

Corrected entry: In the earlier scene, when Gillian is leaving they cut their hands and place them together, then Gillian hugs Sally there is no sign of the blood on Sally's shoulder.

Correction: Gillian is the one who cut both her own and Sally's hands saying, "My blood, your blood, our blood," (a sacred vow). The reason why there isn't any blood on Sally's shoulder is Gillian closed her hand when she hugged Sally, before she left with her boyfriend.

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer picture

Corrected entry: When Brandy returns from outdoors soaking wet, she immediately reaches inside the door and pulls the "light switch", which is just a tangle of wires. Brandy would certainly have received an electric shock.

Correction: Not necessarily. Wet or not, to receive an electric shock she would have to have touched an exposed, live conductor. There is no proof that any of the conductors (the metal part) of those wires were exposed or live, or if so, that she actually touched the exposed, live part.

My Date with the President's Daughter picture

Corrected entry: When the President and Duncan's dad are looking for Hallie and Duncan, they see a couple making out. They stop them because the girl was wearing a pink dress, like Hallie's and the guy was wearing a leather jacket, like Duncan's. But how would the dad's know that they were wearing that if they left the house in something different and bought the clothes on their date?

Correction: When the President and Duncan's dad are looking for Hallie and Duncan, they do see a couple making out who are wearing clothes similar to their kids. However, that is not why they stop them. This is because, obviously, like you said, they saw them wearing different clothes. The President and Duncan's dad stop the couple (mistaking them for their kids) because the girl and boy have similar hair color and styles to Hallie and Duncan, respectively. They also have similar body types, and the dads just see backs and backs of heads.

Enemy of the State picture

Corrected entry: At the end, Will sees a video of him on his TV screen indicating that Gene Hackman has a video camera in his home. The image on the TV screen is a mirror image however, not a video image.

Correction: Some cameras reproduce only mirrored images, like my webcam.
