Corrected entry: When Maverick and Goose are in the water after ejecting you can clearly see the boat that films them.
Corrected entry: There is a scene where Walter and Anna are pouring water into the bathtub using buckets. When they are pouring the last two bucket loads in the tub it falls through the second floor and shatters on the first floor. However, when it shatters, no water is seen even after being filled with many bucket loads.
Correction: In watching the DVD release of the film, there is water in the tub as it crashes onto the floor.
Corrected entry: At the beginning of the movie when Ferris and Cameron are taking his dad's Ferrari out to pick up Sloan there is a very old green classic car in the background of the garage. Later in the movie when they return it is missing. It isn't very likely that sometime during the day Mr. Fry returned home from work to take it out for a drive without noticing the Ferrari which he never drives is missing.
Correction: The other classic car is still in the garage when they return. You can briefly see the shadow of its windshield. They just don't pan in on it during the scenes when they have returned to the garage.
Corrected entry: When Soundwave retrieves Laserbeak to play back the spy footage he just took, Soundwave doesn't push his shoulder eject button like he does in previous episodes and later in the big battle scene.
Correction: There are numerous times in which Soundwave ejects his tapes without pushing the eject button. Just because you have to push this button on the Hasbro toy doesn't mean the characters function the same way. (When Soundwave is in cassette player mode, he ejects tapes all the time without pushing his own buttons!).
Corrected entry: When Eddy Murphy is asked to cross the path safely without dropping the water to get to the dagger, you can see in a close up scene of the glass that he dropped some water when he stumbled.
Correction: This is not neccessarily a mistake. It could be that the little old man told him not to spill a drop so that he'd be extra cautious. He just needed to make it across with a good portion left to drink. Let's keep in mind, after Chandler proved his worth by obtaining the dagger, the old man proceeded to call him an expletive, burp in his face, and pick his nose in front of him. So it's safe to assume the old man said what he wanted to say, just to get his point across.
Corrected entry: In 1986 the only Space Camp was in Huntsville, Alabama. How did they get to Florida so fast?
Correction: It's only about 600 miles, or about a 1 hour flight.
Corrected entry: One of the sets for Aliens was later re-used as the Axis Chemical plant in Batman.
Corrected entry: When the 4 crawl soaking wet from the swamp and pull off the leeches from their bodies, they begin to put their clothes back on. Suddenly, their clothes and themselves are bone dry. (01:04:45)
Correction: Just watched this, it's never revealed how much time had passed. They could have spent an hour waiting for clothes to dry out and Gordie to recover from fainting.
Corrected entry: After the scene when Sandy and Sal get blown-up at the camp Taylor and Mannie are sent to go out on point. In the initial scene when they are told to go out, if you look in Mannie's helmet at his pack of cigarettes they are Marlboro, in the next scene when he is on watch the cigarettes are Kool.
Correction: We don't know the elapsed time between being sent on point and when he was actually on watch. It's entirely possible that he finished his Marlboros, and took another pack of whatever was available, possibly the Kools. If his favorite brand wasn't available, likely he'd take whatever was around.
Corrected entry: According to the books, Biggles was born in 1899, making him 18 years old in 1917. When James Ferguson meets Biggles (after he is transported back to 1917) Biggles looks to be in his mid 30's.
Correction: Book/film discrepancies are not valid on this site.
Corrected entry: In the climactic fight scene on the rooftop, the amount of water which pours from the overturned water tower is not nearly enough to flood the roof to the depth shown. The water level also alternates in depth, going from waist deep to knee deep and then back to waist deep again. At one point its deep enough for both actors to fully submerge themselves and the next it's only up to their knees.
Correction: In subsequent shots there is a large severed pipe in the background shooting water some 10 feet or more into the air throughout the scene, which accounts for the additional water. As they are on a roof, protrusions such as ducting, vents or skylights would account for the different depths at different points.
Corrected entry: In the restaurant scene, Mick refers to someone else's plate and says 'I like the look of that one' and looks to his left. But Richard, on his right, looks to his right so that Mick can hit him with his right hand while Sue is looking away.
Correction: Exactly. Mick points out someone in front of him and to his left. Sue and Richard therefore have to turn right to see the person, because the "fat sheila" is behind them and to their right.
Corrected entry: At the end of the movie where all the hostages have been rescued and they have boarded the plane with all the Delta Force crew, beers are passed out in celebration. While everybody is singing and drinking their beers, you can see one Delta Force member take a sip of beer, but either the sip was laughably too quick to be realistic or the can was empty.
Correction: How long does it take to sip a beer? Many people can chug half a beer in one gulp.
Corrected entry: When Fievel arrives on Ellis Island, and the pigeon is telling him that America is bigger than the island they're on, they're standing on the Statue of Liberty's flame. The French gave the arm holding the torch to America in 1876 as a gift to commemorate America's centennial. The arm holding the torch was actually a monument standing in Central Park until the statue was shipped to America and finished.
Correction: In the beginning of the movie it states that it is 1885, so the statue could be there at that time.
Corrected entry: Dusty is dressed as one of El Guapo's henchmen. When Ned falls from the rope above and El Guapo's henchmen find out who he and Dusty are, Dusty is no longer dressed as a henchman, but back in his Amigo uniform.
Correction: All Dusty did was put on the henchman's poncho. He still has his Amigo costume underneath.When Ned falls, Dusty is still wearing the poncho. It's not until the German and Ned are about to start the duel that Dusty is no longer wearing the poncho. But plenty of time has passed, enough that the chairs for El Guapo are set up. Everyone is ready for a show and since they know it's Dusty now, there's no point in wearing the poncho.
Corrected entry: When the Bounty takes off from Vulcan and flies away, no shadow is visible despite the fact that it is a very sunny day. (00:16:20)
Correction: This is incorrect. Vulcan has multiple suns, so there would be minimal shadows cast.
Corrected entry: In the scene where the boy is eating a candy bar in the shuttle, one minute there are bites in the chocolate bar, in the next it's intact.
Correction: He never actually takes a bite out of the candy bar.
Corrected entry: The "Turbo Interceptor, the only one in existence" really does exist. It's at the Dodge Museum in Belvidere. Also, it probably could have walked those cars the way it did in the movie...it was a 4 cylinder, TWIN turbo car that made about 500 HP.
Correction: Close, but not quite. The Wraith (or Turbo Interceptor) was a prototype developed by Chrysler and PPG in 1984. It was donated by Dodge to the filmmakers for the movie. It had a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder, with two Garret turbochargers, but it only made 400 hp and 300 torque. There were over 30 cars built for use in the movie. Its' 4.1 second 0-60 time was plenty fast, but the 12.9 second 1/4 mile was not as impressive. In other words, cars like the Barracuda could have kept up or beaten it in a 1/4 mile, but with an observed top speed of 194 mph, it would have beaten the other cars in the long run. The official name was not Turbo Interceptor, but Dodge-PPG Twin Turbo M4S Prototype.
Corrected entry: As the recon platoon is heading toward their "ambush" of Major Powers and 1st platoon, Highway tells Jones to "unsling those rifles, and you're making too much noise." Jones starts to unthread his rifle sling from the buckle in order to remove the sling from his rifle. Anyone familiar with the manual of arms (which includes ANYONE who has ever graduated from USMC basic training) knows that to "unsling" a rifle means to take it off your shoulder (from a slung position) and carry it in your hands, ready to use.
Correction: Not necessarily, I was in the Infantry and we "unslung" and taped our rifles to keep from making too much noise.
Corrected entry: It becomes obvious that some degree of electricity needs to be present for the comet-entity to activate machinery, and we see evidence of comparatively large physical objects moving telekinetically - the large switches moving to raise the bridge, the floating hair dryer that used its own cord to strangle the girl hanging out the window. Anything from a domestic appliance to a truck is affected, even the lawn mower was turning all by itself and it doesn't have a steering wheel! How come standard motor cars, trains, or boats weren't?
Correction: If you remember that as Deke rode through the neighborhood, there was a VW Beetle crashed into a tree with the dead driver hanging out the window, as the Ice Cream truck was going by itself. So, regular cars were affected, just Curt and Connie's car wasn't as part of the story. Also, the kid's bike on the ball field malfunctioned to toss the kid into the roller to kill him.
