Corrected entry: 45 minutes into the film, Colonel Masters is berating his son, Doug, for pulling unauthorised maneuvers, as they flew in an F-16. Doug says, "Come on dad!" His father replies, "Don't 'Come on me' Dad" instead of "Don't 'Come on dad' me".
Corrected entry: The car the headmaster destroys is the same car that Basil Fawtly, also played by John Cleese, hit with a branch in 'Fawlty Towers.'
Correction: The car mentioned is an Austin 1100. However; the model that Basil Fawlty beats with a branch is the estate (stationwagon) version while the one in Clockwise is a saloon.
Corrected entry: In the scene outside the diner where C Thomas Howell finds the finger in his food - The officers find a knife in his jacket, pick him up and throw him back down onto the car. He is thrown down so hard by the police officers that his foot arcs up over his back and kicks the officer (on the right) in the back of the head. The officer is a good actor, and doesn't even blink after getting kicked. (00:31:35)
Correction: This is not a mistake. The kick is not intentional, so it is not very hard. The cop is simply not bothered by it, as it is a small nuisance that he is prepared might happen in a difficult arrest situation.
Corrected entry: When Sid is being interrogated about Nancy's murder, a detective asks him "Did you call 911?" The 911 emergency number wasn't implemented in New York until 1984.
Correction: 911 became the national emergency number for the US in 1968.
Regardless of the year 911 was implemented, it was not widely used until the 1990s. It was a phase in process which took decades to complete. By 1978 only a small percentage of the US was serviced by 911.
The correction is correct and valid. The scene takes place in NYC, so it doesn't matter how wide spread in the US 9-1-1 was or wasn't at the time. In 1970, NYC was already receiving 19,000 9-1-1 calls daily, and increasing each year thereafter. Plus, the fact that people in the UK knew about 9-1-1 in 1986 negates the idea that "911 wasn't widely used until the 1990's."
Corrected entry: When the five young men are done building the ramps, Boozy tries to get up and you can see the boom in the screen.
Correction: When the five young men are done building the ramps, Boozy tries to get up and you can see the boom in the screen. (Only visible in orig. 80's VHS version of film, DVD release has edited the boom out of the picture).
Corrected entry: Radiation does not cause electronic timers to accelerate.
Correction: Please provide some explaination for this assumption. In the movie Dr. Mathewson explains how the radiation causes the timer to accelerate, if you have evidence that this doesn't work in the real world (and specific proof that it would not occur for this particular device) please give a short synopsis in your submission.
Corrected entry: The "last ten seconds" of Raimy's life actually last 43 seconds, for dramatic effect, of course. (01:45:10)
Correction: Time compression or extension is constantly used in movies to heighten tension, or leave out the boring bits. It's so common a technique, it can't be considered a mistake.
Corrected entry: After Seth Brundle has gone through his final stage of metamorphosising into the Brundlefly, he throws Ronnie (Geena Davis) into one telepod and then starts to make his way across the lab towards the other one. Watch as he emerges from behind a wooden pillar, there's one shot where a crew member's arm is seen reaching inside the back of the Brundlefly puppet, to move the creature's head. You'll need to slow-mo to see it but it's there. (As per the rules of this site, visible crew members is an acceptable use of slow motion.)
Correction: Slow-mo is not accepted.
Corrected entry: Early in the movie, coach Dale is running the boys through drills. He is approached by a group of men from town that confront him about his methods. As the coach walks towards the men, we see a long shot from high up showing the men, the coach and the boys on the left. At this point, one of the players looks to be raising his hand and giving the coach (or Hackman), the finger. Can you confirm this?
Correction: The player is not giving the finger but saluting. This is in response to Dale's statement. "You ARE in the army. You're in my army."
Corrected entry: Ann is out jogging when she is picked up by a police officer and taken to a party. While at the party the size of the "sweat" stain on her shirt varies, disappears & reappears from shot to shot.
Correction: The damp stain from her sweat back and front on her vest doesn't reappear at all after she's called the taxi.
Corrected entry: As Seymour's worries about Audrey II start to get worse, Audrey II says "You think this is all a coincidence baby, your sudden success around here, the press coverage?" Listen carefully to "the press coverage". This is a dub over of the original line "Your adoption papers" (this line also fits better with the mouth movement). Since Seymour wasn't adopted by Mushnik in the movie this wouldn't make sense for Audrey II to say.
Correction: I just watched this scene several times in a row. I did not see or hear any time where there was a 'dub over' of the the words described in this post.
Corrected entry: When Daniel and the Japanese girl have finished dancing, Sato's cousin turns up, note where the car is, and the distance between Sato's cousin and Daniel. Their positions change in the following shot. (Slow-mo perhaps required.) (00:55:05)
Correction: First of all, it is Sato's nephew, not cousin. Second if slow-mo may be required, it is not a mistake.
Corrected entry: The fact that Van Damme had already defeated the 3 men who were chosen to fight him in the ring means him and the mafia should have been the winners. The fact that some kid jumps in from the audience and beats him should have meant nothing as he wasn't even supposed to be there.
Correction: When Ivan is introduced the guy says "your three fighters, or anyone else who has the balls to get into the ring," therefore Jason beating him means Seattle wins.
Corrected entry: When Stephanie is trying to stop Johnny from wrecking her house, she finds the TV remote and turns the TV on to distract Johnny. We get a close up shot of Johnny's head as he sees the TV for the first time and his remote control attachment is up, but when the view cuts to a wide shot of Johnny and Stephanie looking at the TV, the remote control attachment is down. (00:43:50)
Correction: When Johnny's attachment pops up, we then get a shot of just the TV and Stephanie, and when the shot changes again the attachment has gone. He had time to retract the attachment in this time.
Corrected entry: When Frank turns up unexpectedly, Dorothy thrusts the terrified and naked Jeffrey into the closet. Yet when he emerges he is wearing his charming boxers once more.
Correction: This is wrong. Even though he is naked when thrust into the closet, Dorothy helps him gather his clothes up as he is hiding, so Frank won't see them. So it is perfectly plausible that, rather than stand there in the dark naked, that Jeffrey put his boxers back on.
Corrected entry: Francis Dolarhyde's name is spelled with one l, but on the driver's license displayed in the film, it is spelled with two.
Correction: This is a discrepancy between the movie and the "Red Dragon" novel, not a mistake within the movie.
Corrected entry: If Tommy was locked up in a mental institution, how exactly did he know where Jason was buried? (00:04:00)
Correction: Crystal Lake is a small town, there's probably only one cemetery.
Corrected entry: Hoggle tells Sarah that 'if you put so much as a foot in the Bog of stench, you'll smell bad for the rest of your life' but when Diddymus is riding Ambrotius over the rocks after the bridge is broken, the dog's bare paws touch the rocks which have bog-slime on them, since they were called up by Ludo from the bog, yet he suffers no after-effects.
Correction: Hoggle is probably exaggerating about what happens if you touch it because he's afraid of it.
Corrected entry: When Jack and Wang are questioned by Rain before they meet Lo-Pan, Rain blows rubber balls at Jack with punching force. As you look as he casts the second, Kurt Russel doubles over before the (inserted) ball actually hits.
Correction: No he doesn't and even if the submitters perception is different, it would be quite normal to start to double over when you know a ball is about to hit you.
Corrected entry: When Rodney unknowingly enters the sorority house, he stumbles in on and interrupts a coed (played by Leslie Huntly) taking a shower. When she is first seen and is startled whilst showering, her washcloth is being clutched in her left hand. In the following shot, Rodney walks over and pulls aside the shower curtain, surprising Leslie, revealing her boobs, and also the fact that her washcloth has suddenly changed hands over to her right one. (00:15:00)
Correction: There is more than enough time for her to switch hands while the shot is on Rodney.
Correction: His character was upset and misspoke. Character error, not a movie mistake.
