Deliberate mistake: Just before Donald has a fight with Jack at the end of the film, we see Donald jogging down a flight of stairs to escape the building. Then after a bit of a punch up with Jack, we see Donald running back up the same staircase to escape Jack, but when he reaches the top it turns into a dead end. There is nowhere that Donald could have came from when we see him coming down the stairs. (01:19:35 - 01:20:35)
Deliberate mistake: During the last assault against the hill, a duo of helicopters is mowing down the Vietnamese soldiers with miniguns. In one shot, you can see one chopper coming up behind a tree, all guns blazing. However, the tree, which is in the way of the helicopters right side minigun, remains totally untouched, although, looking at the carnage the guns do to the Vietnamese soldiers, it should have been reduced to toothpicks. Deliberate mistake: After pulling the e-brake in his car (Mustang) and turning completely around during a chase scene, "Driver's" vehicle continues to shift gears as he drives in reverse at high speeds.
Deliberate mistake: The scene where Topher Grace is jogging on his treadmill in his apartment is reversed. His wedding ring is on his right hand. In scenes before and after, his wedding ring was on his left hand.
Deliberate mistake: It's Christmas in Denver and there is snow on the ground. However, there still are quite a fair amount of leaves on the trees in various shots.
Deliberate mistake: Many times Pocahontas's hair blows in the wind, even though nothing else moves in the shot. From the way her hair moves, the wind should be strong enough wind to move something else, but not even John Smith's hair moves.
Deliberate mistake: During the flight Hughes takes with Katherine Hepburn, they talk to each other in normal, conversational voices. A twin-piston-engined aircraft of that vintage (or any vintage for that matter) is LOUD. We should be able to hear roaring engines, and the two should have to shout at each other to be heard.
Deliberate mistake: In the hotel bar at night, when Edward is playing the piano and Vivian goes to find him, after Edward has dismissed everyone else from the room Vivian sits on top of the piano and puts her feet on the keyboard. Her feet go onto the keys in the middle of the keyboard but the sound that comes out is from the bottom and the top notes of the piano.
Deliberate mistake: After Emily talks to inspector Girotti she starts a record player. Then she walks over to the window, sees Werner in the garden, and decides to go down. Between shots she appears behind him, which is wrong, as the song from the record goes on, but it's most probably intended. (00:30:45)
Deliberate mistake: None of the helicopter's in the movie have the Army markings seen on Vietnam era Hueys. The most you'll see is some crooked, faint and inaccurate stencils in the wrong spots. (00:37:50 - 00:51:25)
Deliberate mistake: In the scene where Sam is swinging from the hospital window, you see him first from the inside. Now he is obviously being pushed (from a crew member) so it looks like he's moving back and forth smoothly. However, when seen from the outside he couldn't be pushed and so when swinging by himself, he was actually bouncing off the walls. Inside this would have been seen. Also, inside it seems that the sky is clear, though outside there is a tree by the window.
Deliberate mistake: When the limo driven by Gwen (Sandra Bullock) runs over the white picket fencing it's not Sandra's face behind the wheel in the exterior shots. Also, when Gwen runs over the short white picket fencing, in the interior shot from the car the corner of an 'L' shape fence is being hit, then in the front exterior shot the end of a smaller fence is hit. This is cut from a longer sequence, the smaller fencing is seen way in the distance in the first shot. (00:07:45)
Deliberate mistake: The huge bruise on Tommy's face, from the board hitting him, disappears in less than a day.
Deliberate mistake: The angle of the footage of the Air Force jet (from inside the 747's passengers' viewpoint) observing the 747's damage shows the Air Force jet would be flying away from the 747 instead of flying exactly parallel as the outside footage shows.
Deliberate mistake: During the final montage, we see Erik and Joyce in bed together, and the next sequence is of Teddy talking to his baby brother. This was to show that they got back together and had another kid. The mistake is that Teddy would've been a year older by that time, and so would've looked a little bigger, although there is also the fact that the actor who played Teddy (Dakota Goyo) was between 7 and 8 for the filming. Deliberate mistake: While Donnie is training at Front Street Gym, when Rocky repeats, "One step at a time, one punch at a time, one round at a time," the closeup of two children watching from outside the ring is a flipped shot, note the backwards Nike swoosh logo and Everlast ring rope spacer. Deliberate mistake: When the armored car hit's the police car the police car flies up in an explosion. Due to the size, style, and weight of the armored car, the police car should've been run over and crushed. (01:02:05)
Deliberate mistake: When John and his sister Patty are watching the old videos, it shows John saying that he would pay for his niece's college education and the camera is showing them from the side. John says "And that's a promise from your uncle John." and the camera is in front of him showing his face. There is no way they could change camera angles like that in a home movie.
Deliberate mistake: The mirror that made Rocky's face look normal should've made his mom's face look different, but her face stayed the same.
