Continuity mistake: When Ed Kanfer's widow tells Taylor "But he's gone", her hands are not on his shoulders, where they appear in the next shot. (00:32:10)
Continuity mistake: Tailing Cam Chung with his Ferrari, Magnum does not have to go too far, seemingly, since he keeps meeting the same people over and over. A guy with a red T-shirt under a plaid shirt, a woman with a purple dress, one man with a blue tee and a single horizontal stripe, a man sporting a 'stache and wearing jeans and a pale blue Hawaiian shirt, etc. (00:21:00)
Continuity mistake: Taylor asks Magnum if anything happened to Linda. Magnum says "No!" twice; in the first shot his left arm is on top of the back of the couch, in the next one it's slumped into one of the pillows. (00:15:20)
Continuity mistake: Magnum meets his new client. He asks "Have we met somewhere?", with his fingertips touching. "We were briefed together once, at Da Nang" the client replies, while Magnum lowers his hands and puts them on his hips. New shot, and he is again in the previous position, with the fingers touching. Similarly, the client mistakenly has his arms crossed a couple Transitions later when he says the two teams never hooked up. (00:08:30)
Continuity mistake: By the deathbed of her husband, Olivia Ross asks, startled by Magnum "What are you doing here?" Her right arm position changes (along the railing or not) depending on the camera angle. (00:45:35)
Continuity mistake: Searching the trailer, Magnum tells his friends the suicide theory. Rick in close-up is holding the flashlight in the same left hand he is leaning against the drawers with, but it is in his right hand at the cut. (00:38:50)
Continuity mistake: Higgins introduces Lt. Tanaka with a hand gesture in close-up he showed no sign of doing in the previous shot - in fact he had that hand down, planted on the desk. (00:16:45)
Continuity mistake: The director, Myrt Callahan, is talking to the producer while Higgins is on the phone with Robin Masters. Knox says that people can grieve and work at the same time, and she has both arms forward, but in the background when the camera focus is on Higgins we see her right hand on her waist.
Continuity mistake: Magnum and Rick by the wall are looking at Jack Martin going back to his trailer. They are on a spot in the sun and have plenty rays on them, but in the rest of their exchange with a very bored TC they all are in the shadow. (00:13:00)
Continuity mistake: The lads greet Magnum growling at him. They pass by a table with a flower centerpiece on it. A minute later, the producer gives him the thumbs up as he walks out, saying "Welcome aboard"; the table gets back in frame, and now the flowers are gone and all there's left is a decorative plate. Continuity mistake: Inside the study, Higgins is having Zeus and Apollo bite the dog handler. In the background, William B. Knox stands behind the armchair with his right hand over the left. The hands have instantly traded places in the next shot. (00:04:40)
Continuity mistake: When Magnum tackles the 'commando' from behind coming off the wall, the elder guy with the white beret is holding both hands on the right armrest of the chair. New shot and he has just a hand on the other one. (00:03:25)
Continuity mistake: When a drunk Rick flops on the couch, his belly has a big wet patch, but the shirt was fine when he poked Higgins with his finger disputing the command of the operation. (00:28:15)
Continuity mistake: Magnum is catching his breath while the guy who was having the better of him has to stop being held at gunpoint. He is touching the guy's arm in the first shot, but has his hand on the armrest of the chair in the next. (00:17:05)
Continuity mistake: In the close-ups of Jeannie's hand with the face-down card dealt by Mr. Matt Thompson, you can spot to the left of the cards her handbag, which is way far away in the shots of the table. (00:10:30)
Continuity mistake: Rick looks at Magnum funny when Jeannie Lowry says he'd look devilishly handsome in a tux. He has cards in hand, but the next shot starts with no cards anywhere near (TC is just then shuffling the deck), and more discontinuities happen during the convo later. (00:04:30)
Continuity mistake: Magnum joins TC and Rick that are playing poker with a mysterious blonde. As he gets through the door, the towel around his neck has the left side pulled very much up, above the level of the 44 symbol on the tanktop. The towel drops lower (more balanced) in other shots, going back and forth between the two levels. (00:04:00)
Continuity mistake: The man running down the escalator runs past the same couple (old lady with blue dress and man with pale yellow shirt) twice. Similarly, when the policemen reach the top and shout "Halt", the same woman with a hat reaches the top too in two separate shots. And, in the same shot, in the foreground coming up from the escalator there's a man with a white and blue striped polo, who was visible earlier in the policemen's way when Mike Vejar's director credit popped up, on the way to get down the same escalator. Continuity mistake: Opening scene, recycled extras. Look no further than the blonde woman in a maroon stewardess uniform, walking to the left of the screen in the suspicious person POV, and simultaneously in the background behind him. Or the woman with long curly hair wearing a brown top and long beige skirt. (00:01:50)
Continuity mistake: Magnum and his two friends are watching the team practice. In the establishing shot they are fully in the sun, and the whole section of the stadium does not have a bit of shade. Next time they are displayed, the direct sunlight is gone. (00:06:20)
