Other mistake: A big deal is made of Magnum wearing a suit, both by Higgins and by Magnum himself when he speaks to others. You'd expect then this to be the first time we see him donning such a formal, wear and head into a corporate meeting, but he wore in fact a suit for a long portion of screentime just two episodes prior, in Ghost Writer (2-11).
Other mistake: Magnum states his date of birth to the doctor; "August 8th, 1944." On his driver license in "Memories Are Forever" (when the General shows it to his wife) the date was January 5th 1946. (00:05:35 - 00:40:55)
Other mistake: The priest and altar boys have the slowest reflexes ever; they stand as if nothing happened during the whole shootout, and can be seen finally covering behind the altar only after a few cuts, after the shots have already stopped. (00:45:05)
Other mistake: The bicycle the killer uses is recognizable for its unique color pattern as the same prop used in the season 1 finale, when it was supposedly an expensive gift from Robin Masters, imported exclusively from Italy. (00:31:15)
Other mistake: The bad guy in the control room gets some overhead shots of the camera that point down significantly more than the rest, but in close-ups we never see the camera alter its tilt, merely the direction it spins in, clockwise or counter.
Other mistake: When the security guard is looking at Magnum trying to mess with the lock, the camera is on the ceiling, but the camera angle he gets on his monitor is as if the camera were level with him. (00:38:10)
The Taking of Dick McWilliams - S2-E9
Other mistake: Magnum asks the drunk woman about her car, and tells her that it was seen "today at twelve noon." Two scenes later, Kaholo tells Dick that someone visited Gloria "today" asking her who was driving the car "yesterday." (00:24:50)
Other mistake: Magnum needs to stop Buck, and asks Higgins for the keys to the Audi. Higgins just happens to have the keys in his pocket, which makes no sense, since he keeps them in a drawer inside the study, and can't just wander about all day with all the keys to all of Robin Masters' vehicles inside his pants. (00:33:00)
Wave Goodbye - S2-E7
Other mistake: When the bad guy pulls the gun on Magnum, the last twist is spoiled a minute too early if you notice the shadow of the actor on the right side, already standing by just out of frame. (00:46:40)
Other mistake: Magnum messes up his clothes at the gas station, all covered in oil, and uses them to clean the windshield. Still, when the snotty Brit girl arrives, he recovers them from the passenger seat. That would have royally messed up the interiors, and Higgins right there would have freaked out, but neither happens. (00:11:00)
Other mistake: At the appointment / trap at the abandoned shrine, Magnum hears a bell toll. He turn around, and it's clear that someone rang the bell pushing the log - it is still moving, it's not an automated system and there's no wind. but since the plot does not involve it, he just goes on like nothing happened. For all he knew, it could have been exactly where his supposed client or informant wanted him to go. (00:18:00)
Other mistake: In the opening credits, Clyde Kusatsu is listed as guest star playing "Colonel Ki." However in the end credits Robert Inouye (should be "Inoue", really) is "Colonel's Ky's driver." Ki seems a more plausible spelling, but it should be noted that in the actual episode, during the meeting when the Americans ask the General about returning the bodies buried in 'Nam, the nameplate of the absent Colonel says "Col. Ky Lan." (00:01:55 - 00:31:25)
Other mistake: The sunset Magnum comments on and is featured in the opening shot of the scene has nothing to do with the actual light of the rest of said scene. (00:08:40)
Other mistake: Colonel Ky fires his gun at Magnum a first time when he is picking up the handkerchief. In the background, a woman in brown is walking peacefully. Cut to scared crowd all over the place. Magnum turns the corner and from the new cover shoots a couple times at Ky. Next shot Ky returns fire, but it's just another take of the first shot; the woman in brown is again walking where she was, and reacts to the gunfight only at that point. (01:30:40)
Other mistake: In the scene in the study at the beginning of the episode, Magnum just ran from the ocean to the house, but his swimming trunks are barely wet at the border of the leg. (00:05:40)
Other mistake: In the streets of Little Saigon in the climax with TC and Rick involved, you can spot the same passersby they met with Magnum a couple days before, same clothes and all. (01:30:35)
Other mistake: Magnum and his bride seek shelter under table during the bombardment; if it happened the way it is shown, with a model completely torn to pieces, and with flames in frame during the first table shot, they would surely not be able to stay there, nor would have taken refuge there to begin with - if the roof did not kill them already falling on them. (00:25:10)
Other mistake: The US delegation pops from behind some trees with military copters that are explicitly presented as deafeningly noisy; it's just silly and internally contradictory. Even if we forget how underplayed helicopter noise often is in Hollywood, here we go from zero to thunderous in a split second. (00:21:40)
Other mistake: The commanding officer to enter the control room passes in front of two signs which, even with different sizes, say the same thing - but the one on the wall mentions a "Wheeler airbase" (which actually exists), the one on the door a "Delber". (00:02:00)
The Woman on the Beach - S2-E3
Other mistake: First scene set in present day. Exterior shot of Rick's club. A sign says "King Kamehameha Club - Est.1905", In the previous season, episode 11 was focused on the club itself, and Magnum met the landlord, Mr. Sidney Dollinger, who explicitly said "I founded that club for the people.", and Magnum, regretting accusing him, mentions that he blamed "an 80-years-old man." Even assuming he was not precisely 80 in 1981, in 1905 he still would have been a pre-teen or barely a teenager, not the rich planter who founded Hawaii's most exclusive club donating a vast domain to it.
