Squeeze Play - S4-E7
Continuity mistake: In the finale, Magnum is playing a solitaire. On the desk, the card on top row is an ace, then there are from right to left a 6 of hearts, a Jack of hearts, two spaces with cards face down, and a 5. When the village idiot makes Magnum turn the queen, he does it picking it between an 8 of hearts and a Jack of clubs that were not there before. (00:45:30)
Continuity mistake: Magnum and TC are talking at the beginning of the episode, by Rick and his peachy polo. Magnum has always his hands on his hips in TC's close-ups and in front of his belly in the wider angle shots. (00:02:15)
Continuity mistake: TC spots in a close-up the Marines tattoo of the guy he injured. The position of the daughter's hand (she has her fingers in the rolled sleeve) and body (she's tightly close) in that close-up is different than in the other views. (00:04:55)
Continuity mistake: Higgins through the intercom asks "TC, why are you here?" TC lowers his left hand - he had his thumb near the intercom button before, now he put it on the card. New shot, and he's back sticking his thumb up. (00:06:25)
Continuity mistake: First scene in Higgins' study. Leon Platt is determined to go on with his fights even injured. He has his good hand on his daughter Ima's shoulder. She tells him "No daddy, you can't!" as he removes the hand, but in the following close-up on Shannen Doherty, the hand is back on the shoulder. (00:08:25)
Continuity mistake: Shannen Doherty does some fine emotional blackmail on TC chasing him as he is leaving after just finding out about the boxing being of the bareknuckle kind. During this scene TC's boot on his chest changes orientation without being touched, from tip to the left ("You just gotta help me") to right ("Do you know how bad he can get hurt?") to left again. Continuity mistake: TC is accepted as replacement and tells Claude the announcer his boxing credentials. During the wide shots, Shannen Doherty's hair runs to the sleeve of her shirt, does not in close-ups. (00:14:00)
Continuity mistake: Claude rings a cowbell to announce the contenders. Amongst the patrons, recognizable and featured prominently is a local girl with a brown dress and white shoulderstraps. She is shouting and cheering in a frontal view, drink in hand, but she is also sitting in another seat, smoking, in the shots from behind. (00:14:50)
Continuity mistake: Magnum is talking with the landlady in Chicago. He sneaks a peek of the Tigers game on TV. In the wider angle the newspaper in front of the TV is folded revealing different letters than in the close-ups, where it's tightly pressed. (00:19:25)
Continuity mistake: When the champion sends TC flying with some sort of flamboyant knee to the face, before TC gets to the ground you can see the towel on the top rope being quite distant from the turnbuckle. In the rest of the scene it is right by it. (00:42:45)
Continuity mistake: When TC hulks up from the stool for his last round, Rick has his right hand on the towel, which becomes the left hand as TC parries yet another haymaker. (00:43:40)
Continuity mistake: When Higgins calls "Buster" and "Bobby K", a strong shadow appears on his forehead in the wider angles, nothing of the sort in close-ups. (00:47:35)
Continuity mistake: Throughout the episode, which covers a timespan of a couple of weeks, the various patrons of the bar/club where the fights take place for the most part are around for every match, which is not out of the ordinary but...wearing the same clothes too, that's more unusual.
Continuity mistake: Magnum is about to leave after the slightly awkward introduction to Holly Fox, but she calls him back saying "Maybe there *is* something you could help me with." He sticks his head back into the room, and you can see the glasses' left arm is above the shirt collar. Next shot and it went underneath. (00:13:40)
Continuity mistake: The chopper takes off from Higgie's un-birthday party, looking as usual. It flies over a shore to thwart Holly's plan, and doing so it has the flotation skids from a different chopper's stock footage. It is therefore also missing the birthday banner, that is present again in the finale. (00:45:10)
Operation: Silent Night - S4-E10
Continuity mistake: In the opening shots, the helicopter is the N58243 one with flotation pads, but as soon as it starts malfunctioning, the pads thin up and we switch to the usual chopper. The skids change shape back and forth again once. (00:02:05)
