Mr. Monk Goes to the Bank - S6-E12

Factual error: Banks never use combination locks. A four-digit lock, like the one used here, would take a patient thief about six hours to open by trying every possible combination, and banks really do take such unlikely scenarios into account. The wall panel in the bank would be secured by two padlocks, with no one person holding both keys.

Mr. Monk Goes to the Bank - S6-E12

Factual error: An intelligent, experienced police officer like Stottlemeyer would know perfectly well that shooting a lock will not open it – that's purely a Hollywood myth. Not only would shooting the lock probably jam it, but the ricochet in a closed room like a bank safe could easily kill someone.

Mr. Monk and the Three Julies - S6-E13

Plot hole: There is no other reason for Randy to hand Natalie the walkie-talkie but to fill that plot hole. He is in fact in breach of police rules when he hands his department issued radio to a civilian to answer it while he is on duty. The same goes for Stottlemeyer and the car keys he hands to Monk. Even more so since he knows Monk could not even drive that car to the side in the far fetched scenario that a police car had to be moved while the cop is serving a warrant inside the building the car is parked in front of. Mr. Monk and the Three Julies - S6-E13

Continuity mistake: The broken side mirror that a distraught Stottlemeyer finds dangling from his damaged car wasn't there when Natalie pulled up to the first crime scene. And it disappears again when Natalie runs back to the car and races off to the second crime scene. (00:03:10 - 00:07:15)

Mr. Monk and the Three Julies - S6-E13

Factual error: Monk deflects the policeman's rifle shot and the bullet hits Stottlemeyer's car. But the gun fires just as Monk pushes it aside, and the car is behind them. There's nothing that could deflect the bullet back toward them, so at that angle, there's no way the shot could have struck the car. (00:35:50)

Mr. Monk and the Three Julies - S6-E13

Character mistake: Julie has just passed her driver's test. At the end, she drives up with two teenage friends in the car and offers the stranded Captain Stottlemeyer a ride. Instead of simply accepting, by-the-book cop Stottlemeyer would be lecturing her. California law prohibits new teenage drivers from having other teens in the car. (00:40:15)

Other mistake: When Natalie sits down with Randy eating ice cream, she's says "vanilla fudge, my favorite." But the carton is labeled "chocolate." Plus Randy says he got it out of her freezer, so she would know she bought just regular chocolate ice cream.

Mr. Monk Paints His Masterpiece - S6-E14

Factual error: When Stottlemeyer and Randy are at the painter's daughter's home they find a picture showing him in front of Carson papers, which leads the Captain to say: they have a contract with the treasury, they are producing the paper for the U.S. currency. This is wrong: the treasury is not in charge of printing the Federal Reserve Notes. Rather it is the privately owned Fed that prints the Federal Reserve Notes and then lends it to the treasury at interest. And the interest added is the reason why there will never be enough money to pay the interest, i.e. the state debt.

Suggested correction: While the Federal Reserve is in charge of maintaining our currency (through the creation or destruction of currency, real or digital), the U.S. Department of Treasury is in fact responsible for printing money, through the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

Mr. Monk Paints His Masterpiece - S6-E14

Character mistake: While the concept of the knife height and stab wound is OK, the way Monk measures the height of the knife is way off. He says it's 48", which is 4 record lengths, but he doesn't put the bottom of the record where the top previously was, sometimes he only moves it half way up. Then the top of the record is above the knife, so it couldn't be 48" even if it was done right. As particular and accurate as Monk is, he wouldn't make this mistake.

Mr. Monk Is on the Run (1) - S6-E15

Continuity mistake: The needle Monk finds in the campers' sewing kit threads itself instantaneously between takes. He finds the spool of orange thread, and in the very next shot, tho there's absolutely no indication of any time passing, he's holding the already-threaded needle. (00:22:00)

Adrian Monk: Unless I'm wrong, which, you know, I'm not.

Answer: Stottlemeyer was already upset after the phone call. He was trying to get "Kevin" (who would have to be a judge, but no further character information is given) to issue a restraining order with no evidence of needing one, except that Adrian Monk said she needs one. Kevin said he would need to "sleep on it." So it's clear they've been trying to provide protection and unable to get the results they need, which seems to be based on no one trusting Monk the way Stottlemeyer does. He's just angry that they failed to protect Linda despite all their work. Although it does feel like a scene was cut, or altered, from the show that shows the futile attempts to protect Linda which built up to his outrage.

Answer: While walking upstairs in the victims house randy starts messing with his out of place tennis shoes. When he gets upstairs to monks he has on other shoes. Could have to do with the expensive rug.
