Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy IV / Doing Time - S3-E1
Corrected entry: Spongebob turns the "M" on Mermaid Man's belt upside down to "W" to set it to "Wombo" to re-size Squidward. A few moments later in the same scene, it is an "M" again, without him ever touching it.
The Great Snail Race / Mid-Life Crustacean - S3-E15
Corrected entry: When Mr. Krabs comes upon an elderly person, the old man tells him to wait in line like everybody else, and then Mr. Krabs sees a bunch of elderly people waiting in line in front of a cemetery. Seconds later a man handing out ice cream to the elderly people suddenly appears in front of the entrance.
Correction: That's because Mr. Krabs was hallucinating the cemetery.
Nasty Patty / The Idiot Box - S3-E4
Corrected entry: In 'Nasty Patty' SpongeBob put the health inspector in the freezer. The police people open the door to discover that it's empty, moments later the inspector approaches them from behind from outside of the room. How did he manage to go outside without being seen and open the freezer door from the inside as there was no handle on the inside?
Correction: Knowing the show, it's common that character may be able to do impossible tasks. Also, there's an alternate mistake: there IS supposed to be a door handle inside as revealed in the episode SB-129.
The Snowball Effect / One Krabs Trash - S3-E3
Corrected entry: How does Squidward get to the top of his snow fort if there's no stairs on the inside of it, not fall inside the snow fort without holding on? How does it snow underwater, and where did that big tree come from?
Correction: IT'S A CARTOON! Some suspension of disbelief is expected. Sea creatures don't talk or wear clothes either.
Correction: Remember: Squidward has six limbs (including arms). He could have been holding on to the sides of the fort. Besides, we don't know how long it took him to build the fort. As for the tree, common cartoon humor.
The Algae's Always Greener / Sponge Guard On Duty - S3-E7
Corrected entry: When Plankton realizes he's in the Krusty Krab, the green fish walks past the window twice.
Correction: He only appears twice because the angle changes. When "Mr. Plankton" is looking out the window he's looking over to his far right when the green fish passes. Then the angle changes so we see straight out the window, which is to the left of the previous angle, so we see the green fish walking still.
Born Again Krabs (aka A Penny Saved) / Safety Freak (aka I Had An Accident) - S3-E17
Corrected entry: In "Born Again Krabs," The Flying Dutchman gives Mr. Krabs six coins and takes Spongebob away. When Mr. Krabs throws the money, there are now seven coins.
Correction: Watch the scene again, there is always 6 coins.
No Weenies Allowed / Squilliam Returns - S3-E6
Corrected entry: In "Squilliam Returns", when Spongebob erases everything from his mind, (except fine dining and breathing) his brain is shown shredding papers. When his brain shreds memory, one paper shredded is entitled "Spice Garden Tips". Later when Squilliam arrives, Spongebob serves him the "Krabby Newburg" which he says, "contains herbs from our garden". But if Spongebob forgot his "Spice Garden Tips", he would not be able to prepare that dish. (00:05:40)
Correction: While I have to applaud the attention to detail, preparing food with seasonings from an existing garden would not require tips on how to grow one.
SpongeBob's House Party (aka Party Pooper Pants) - S3-E10
Corrected entry: Patchy's hook hand switches hands throughout the episode.
Correction: One of the running gags on the show is that both Patchy's eye patch and hook switch from right to left continuously.
No Weenies Allowed / Squilliam Returns - S3-E6
Corrected entry: When Patrick punches Spongebob, he appears to have a black eye. It disappears immediately after he smiles.
Correction: All of the characters in the show get hurt at one time or another, and then the injuries immediately disappear. It's one of the main, ongoing sight gags of the entire show, and it's done entirely on purpose.
Correction: Since when does that happen? I've seen a lot of the series, and that has never happened so this is a mistake.
No Weenies Allowed / Squilliam Returns - S3-E6
Corrected entry: In "Squilliam Returns," Spongebob is confused that a waiter goes to tables and takes orders. However, in some episodes earlier in the show, Spongebob waits tables.
Correction: Spongebob has also been shown to be none too bright...plus, the show by its nature has little or no continuity between episodes.
New Student Starfish / Clams - S3-E14
Corrected entry: In the episode New student starfish., In the scene where they are looking at the chart SpongeBob claims to have 74 stars but the chart only shows 30 or so.
Correction: It's entirely possible that all the stars don't fit in Spongebob's column and he just takes a mental note of it.
Corrected entry: When Patchy is pointing to the cave drawings at the beginning, his hook hand is gone.
Correction: While that may be true, that's one of the running gags throughout Patchy's skits. His peg leg, hook, and patch all change places on his body from left side to right side. In other episodes, the hook or patch or leg do disappear altogether. That's the gag.
Chocolate With Nuts / Mermaid Man And Barnacle Boy V - S3-E11
Corrected entry: In "Chocolate With Nuts" when Spongebob and Patrick are selling candy bars, Patrick at first has 1 tooth, then 20, then 1 tooth again, repeatedly.
Club SpongeBob / My Pretty Seahorse - S3-E12
Corrected entry: In "Club Spongebob," Patrick builds some coffins in the forest but then spongebob says something and Patrick says, "It's not?" Then after it cuts to Spongebob, the coffins are gone.
Nasty Patty / The Idiot Box - S3-E4
Corrected entry: In "Nasty Patty", in one shot there is no toilet in the Krusty Krab kitchen, but in the next shot there is.
Chocolate With Nuts / Mermaid Man And Barnacle Boy V - S3-E11
Corrected entry: In "Mermaid Man And Barnicle Boy V", the Krusty Krab has a dark side, but it is not there when there is a HUMUNGUS line at the Krusty Krab at the beginning of that episode.
As Seen on TV / Can You Spare a Dime? - S3-E5
Corrected entry: In the Krusty Krab commercial in "As Seen On T.V", the secret formula for the Krabby Patty forgets cheese from the recipe.
Welcome to the Chum Bucket / Frankendoodle - S3-E2
Corrected entry: In "Frankendoodle" the artist at sea's pencil sinks in the ocean, but pencils are too light to sink, they would float.
Correction: This is done for dramatic effect. It lands with such force and frightens Patrick and Spongebob. The fact the pencil lands more like a missile fits in with the environment of the show, i.e. That Bikini Bottom has gravity despite being underwater. The fact they are able to launch the pencil back up with the same force shows its not a one off as well.
Wet Painters / Krusty Krab Training Video - S3-E9
Corrected entry: The training video says that the Krusty Krab closes at 6:00. But in every other episode, it closes at 8:00.
Correction: The training video could have been outdated and cheapskate Krabs wouldn't have wanted to make a new one.
Born Again Krabs (aka A Penny Saved) / Safety Freak (aka I Had An Accident) - S3-E17
Corrected entry: In "Safety Freak," Spongebob breaks his butt. How is this possible, because in "The Bully," Spongebob is unable to be hurt by any force.
Correction: It's Patrick who turns the belt's M upside-down into a W. Then after SpongeBob activates it, while Patrick is shrinking down to Squidward's size, it really cannot be claimed, "it is an "M" again, without him ever touching it" because SpongeBob is offscreen during this time, so he actually does have the opportunity to simply turn it back to the M.
