Frasier

Frasier Loves Roz - S3-E22

Deliberate mistake: About halfway through the show, Roz and Daphne are in the kitchen talking. Daphne pours water into the teapot - but there is no steam coming from the kettle, nor any sound of a boiling/just boiled kettle. No self-respecting Brit would make tea with water that wasn't boiling.

Analyzed Kiss - S10-E23

Deliberate mistake: The computer Felicity Huffman pushes off the desk is a dummy model and is not connected to anything. When she first pushes the computer off, the monitor only has a power cable visible. These computers were connected via VGA cable that was screwed on; it is quite difficult to disconnect it from the computer. And also when the monitor hits the ground, you hear light sounds of glass breaking and you can see as the monitor rolls that the glass is missing, yet none is to be seen - it's a hollow chassis. Obviously done as the stuff was shoved off in Kelsey's direction so as to avoid injury.

Enemy at the Gate - S10-E2

Visible crew/equipment: When Frasier is standing through his sunroof to speak with the drivers stuck behind him in the parking garage, one shot shows Frasier's body and much of the rear window which features a very clear reflection of the boom mic.

Question: Counting his role on Cheers, Kesley Grammar has played Fraiser for twenty years. Is this the record for the longest portrayal of a character by a TV actor?

Answer: It equals the record of James Arness of "Gunsmoke" for the actor who's played the same part on TV NOT in a soap opera. If you include soaps there are two main contenders - William Roache, who's been playing Ken Barlow in "Coronation Street" in the UK since 1960. Don Hastings has been playing Robert Hughes in US soap "As the World Turns" since 1960 as well.
