Red Dwarf

Backwards - S3-E1

Revealing mistake: When Rimmer stands up from underneath the table, just before he says, "Thanks for your support" to Lister, listen very carefully and you can hear the stunt director saying "Action!" backwards. This shot was the splice point between the reversed and the regular footage. (I know this mistake is listed as being in the 'backwards version' on the DVD, but it is in the regular broadcast version too - you just have to listen harder for it.)

Suggested correction: That is because Starbug is parked inside Red Dwarf at the time, and the stars wouldn't be visible.

Marooned - S3-E2

Revealing mistake: When Lister cuts out the guitar from the trunk, the edges are black. When Lister snaps the guitar in two, you can see the wood is a different colour inside, meaning the edges of the cut out had been painted previously. (00:22:25)

Dwarf

Polymorph - S3-E3

Revealing mistake: When the Polymorph, posing at the snake, jumps on Lister, it is apparent that the snake on Lister has been replaced by a plastic inflatable replica that has no features and does not move. (00:10:05)

Polymorph - S3-E3

Revealing mistake: The cardboard box that the Cat holds up to block the heat seeking missiles has two pre-cut holes in it. You can just barely see them as he takes the box from the shelf. (00:14:25)

Dwarf

Bodyswap - S3-E4

Revealing mistake: During the Scrabble game, Lister (in Rimmer's body) jumps out of his seat and you can hear the chair scrape across the floor. As Lister is a hologram, he should not have been able to move the chair. (00:14:45)

Dwarf

Bodyswap - S3-E4

Revealing mistake: When Rimmer is piloting Starbug in Lister's body, there is a shot of Starbug spinning in circles. This is a shot that was taken from S3 E2 Marooned, of Starbug crashing after colliding with the asteroid. The only difference is the planet in the background has been changed. (00:22:10)

Bodyswap - S3-E4

Revealing mistake: During the chase on the moon, there is a shot from in front of Starbug crashing into an asteroid. About twenty seconds after this, the exact same shot of Starbug crashing into an asteroid is been repeated a second time, when the ship crashes. (00:23:20)

The Last Day - S3-E6

Revealing mistake: You can tell Robert Llewellyn is reading his lines when Kryten receives the computer chip. He is looking much lower than the chip in his hand and it was obviously quite a complicated piece of dialogue to remember. (00:12:35)

Dwarf

Justice - S4-E3

Revealing mistake: When the simulant pulls the knife out of his chest, you can see the knife is a dummy. As the handle is pulled back, the blade does not move at all. (00:25:30)

M-Corp - S12-E5

Plot hole: Cat wasn't manufactured by the Jupiter Mining Corporation and had no connection with them, being born three million years or so after they lost control of Red Dwarf. The takeover by M-Corp would mean nothing to him. Why, then, does he become invisible to Lister?

Suggested correction: Lister can only see M-Corp products and M-Corp employees. Cat is not an employee of JMC or M-Corp, so he disappears. Lister is the only member of the crew who is employed by M-Corp at this point.

Suggested correction: Cat was a descendant of the cat Lister brought aboard Red Dwarf. Would it be possible that the new owners might have stricter security controls, and Lister was sent to Stasis for a different reason?

Inventing Deux ex machina explanations for a plot hole doesn't make it any less of a plot hole. M-Corp erases all of the Jupiter Mining Corporation's equipment, personnel and infrastructure from Lister's life. In no way is Cat a part of that. He has no connection at all to the Jupiter Mining Corporation, and until he meets him in Episode 1 no connection to Lister, either.

If M-Corp only erased JMC equipment from Lister's life, then Kryten, who belongs to DivaDroid and not the JMC, wouldn't have disappeared either. He disappears as he doesn't belong to M-Corp, not because he belongs to the JMC. Cat has no connection to M-Corp, as he wasn't a part of the JMC (as you pointed out), and is therefore erased for Lister.

Lister: What, they fixed your core program and then decided they'd be better off without you?
Holly: Yeah, it was shortly after they met me.

Question: When Kryten and Rimmer were doing the roster of their ranks, Why did Kryten skip the old woman in the black dress with the white shoulder sash between Dali Lama and Mr. Noel Coward?

Answer: It's Queen Victoria, someone any Englishman would recognize, and needed no introduction.
