Continuity mistake: In the police station, Kim's right arm is handcuffed to the bench as we see the profile/ master shot of her and Rick, but in the next shot, (the medium/front), Kim's right arm is behind her now and not cuffed, as Rick is being cuffed to the bench. A few seconds later, her right arm is again handcuffed to the bench. Kim's right arm is moving around as she talks to Rick and the scene progresses. Her left arm is finally uncuffed when the detective goes to book her. (00:06:20)
Continuity mistake: When Jack is at the powerstation he checks his watch. It is 19:12:26, and it takes 1 min 57 seconds until we see the timer (yellow clock), which shows 19:13:47 and not 19:14:23 which it should be as the show is in real time. This is only a mistake if we consider agent Jack Bauer's watch as being accurate, but given how time-critical a lot of his work is, you wouldn't expect him to be casual about the time. (00:12:10)
Continuity mistake: When Kim hands the phone number to the cop, he takes it in his right hand. As he turns to walk away, its disappeared. (00:23:15)
Continuity mistake: The 6:00PM-7:00PM episode ends when it is still light outside. The 7:00PM-8:00PM episode begins when it is completely dark (no sunset/dusk/twilight) The show is supposed to be in "real-time" but as the sun goes down it gradually gets darker, it does not just become dark from one second to the next. Also, the California presidential primary takes place in June. It is not even close to dark at 7pm in June.
Continuity mistake: At the start David is giving a speech about winning the primary. There is one point during a split screen where he grabs his microphone. However in the immediate next shot his hands are on the podium. (00:04:10)
Continuity mistake: After the tracker has been killed, we see Jack holding his handcuffs. Camera changes and his hand is not holding the cuffs any more. (00:40:20)
Continuity mistake: In the previous hour, Pattie has long straight hair down to her shoulders. We see this all the way through, even at the very end. Yet at the start of episode 22, when she is now at the party a mere 10 minutes later, her hair is very much shorter. There is no way she would be able to get ready for the party in that time, let alone have her hair cut.
Suggested correction: It's probable that Patty was wearing a wig during the party. It's normal for black women to own several wigs with different hairstyles and lengths.

Jack begins to break into a van, still no tactical team has arrived. Jack kills Victor Drazen at the 17:47 time check, still no back up. They finally show up at around the 31 minute mark. Continuity mistake: There's dialogue between Palmer and Novick in a hotel room with blinds pulled shut over the windows which leads up to Palmer asking, "Tell me again what I've been doing, Mike?" To which Novick responds, "Telling the truth." At this point the camera pans from Novick to Palmer before going into a cut-shot closeup of Palmer. Now look carefully at the background. The curtains are lit up from behind by sunlight. Keep watching. As the closeup shot pans slightly, you can see a sunny day and a building outside of an open window. This scene is supposed to take place less than an hour before midnight and with Senator Palmer hidden away from sight in order to maintain the ruse of his "death" in the explosion. (00:09:00)

Revealing mistake: Throughout season 2 on several occasions it's clear that John Terry (Bob Warner) is wearing a fake mustache and a fake beard.
Factual error: Invoking the 25th amendment cannot be done by vote. The members have to send in their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall then immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
