11:00 P.M.-12:00 Midnight - S1-E24
Visible crew/equipment: At around 11:30pm, just when Jack is preparing to take his first shots at the Drazens as they are running towards the speedboat, you can see a cameraman/technician (wearing a face shield), and a TV monitor behind Jack's head.
11:00 P.M.-12:00 Midnight - S1-E24
Continuity mistake: There's dialogue between Palmer and Novick in a hotel room with blinds pulled shut over the windows which leads up to Palmer asking, "Tell me again what I've been doing, Mike?" To which Novick responds, "Telling the truth." At this point the camera pans from Novick to Palmer before going into a cut-shot closeup of Palmer. Now look carefully at the background. The curtains are lit up from behind by sunlight. Keep watching. As the closeup shot pans slightly, you can see a sunny day and a building outside of an open window. This scene is supposed to take place less than an hour before midnight and with Senator Palmer hidden away from sight in order to maintain the ruse of his "death" in the explosion. (00:09:00)
11:00 P.M.-12:00 Midnight - S1-E24
Audio problem: The coast guard confirms no body was found and that they cover 50 miles of coastline. As he says about the distance his mouth isn't moving. (00:27:15)
11:00 P.M.-12:00 Midnight - S1-E24
Continuity mistake: When the officer rings CTU about having Kim, Mason's hand is on his hip them the desk instantly. (00:07:30)
11:00 P.M.-12:00 Midnight - S1-E24
Other mistake: Mason asks Nina the ETA on the tactical teams, to which she responds "Five on the Alpha, Eight on the Beta." There's a timecheck 3 minutes later, and after the break they still haven't arrived. Team Alpha continues to be more and more late than estimated. Jack begins to break into a van, still no tactical team has arrived. Jack kills Victor Drazen at the 17:47 time check, still no back up. They finally show up at around the 31 minute mark. (00:08:00 - 00:21:15)
11:00 P.M.-12:00 Midnight - S1-E24
Other mistake: As David is walking away from Sherry, there is daylight flooding into the ballroom, just 20 minutes before midnight. (00:32:30)
Chosen answer: Nobody knew, not even the writers, until at least halfway through the season when they were writing the end. They wanted to keep all options open.
