2:00 A.M.-3:00 A.M. - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: At about 2:15am, when Jack's talking to Nina about the passenger list on the plane, we see a shot of Jack in the top left, and Nina in the top right. Because it's real time they're both meant to match up - we're watching them both at the same time. In each shot we can see the back of the other's head, but while Jack is looking down and around in the left-hand shot, in the right-hand shot his head is staying perfectly still. (00:15:51)

3:00 A.M.-4:00 A.M. - S1-E4

Continuity mistake: When Jack drives to 18166 San Fernando Road he stops the car, gets out and leaves his phone in the car - you can see the green light of the phone's screen - he didn't reach for it. However, when Teri calls him, he has the phone in his pocket.

Continuity mistake: The show claims to be in real time, and although those viewers who aren't too eagle-eyed will argue that it is, there is undisputed evidence in this episode that it isn't accurate. After the final ad break, the clock reads 03:52. At least two minutes later, when we see Teri and "Alan York" turn a corner in their car, the clock is displayed at the bottom of the screen, and it is still 03:52. The same sort of thing happens earlier in the episode, when there is a good ten minutes or so between when the clock says 03:26 and when it says 03:30.

Suggested correction: The clock says 0323 then 7 minutes later says 0330.

4:00 A.M.-5:00 A.M. - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: The clock just tells the viewer that it is 4:40am. Sen. Palmer interrogates his son about the rape of his daughter. In the room, there is a clock that shows 4:57am instead. (00:27:43)

Suggested correction: This is an alarm clock. Some people simply have a clock set a few minutes fast, so that they get an extra few minutes. Not really a mistake.

Plot hole: Jacks talks into a cell phone when a helicopter lands in front of him - and the other side understands what he's saying. What a cell phone. (00:04:15)

5:00 A.M.-6:00 A.M. - S1-E6

Continuity mistake: During season one of 24, Jack answers his mobile to Gaines and we see footage of Jack on a CCTV camera. The CCTV footage shows medical staff moving, yet when they cut back to the camera in the hall the medical staff are in different places, they keep changing places and keep disappearing and re-appearing and the CCTV footage is about two seconds ahead of the footage in the corridor. 5:00 A.M.-6:00 A.M. - S1-E6

Audio problem: Alan gives Teri the address near the end and says they should tell the police. Teri responds that "Jack is the police" however this line is a clear overdub as the audio is completely different to the rest of the scene. (00:36:50)

Factual error: When Janet enters the operating theatre, the surgeons put some x-rays on the light box. The x-rays are from a barium enema, which would have no relevance to Janet's injuries.

Andre Drazen: If Plan A fails you go to Plan B, not Plan A recycled.

Season 1 generally

Question: Was Nina recruited as a spy before she joined CTU or after? Also, as she wasn't working just for the Drazens, what was her primary mission?

Answer: According to Jack in season 5, Nina was "deep cover" before the pair ever met, so it's safe to assume she was recruited before she joined CTU. As for what her primary mission was, who knows? Perhaps it was to gather sensitive intel and pass it on to her superiors. Given that she worked for an intelligence agency, it's not a stretch. Or perhaps we may find out in season seven.
