Continuity mistake: After Judith Dawson's first testimony, Jack thanks her; Florence is just pretending to write and stops, but in the next shot she is back at it, scribbling her pad with the pen. At the end of this new shot, she stops writing, but is writing again in the next, all while DI Jack Mooney talks in continuity. (00:08:55)
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the episode, Edwina Bousquet scoffs at the apology and gets up. Close-up of Judith Dawson, and you can see for a second in the background the bike with Danny John-Jules entering the premises. But there is no sound effect for it and in the next cuts he's nowhere to be seen; he arrives only later. (00:00:25)
Plot hole: The big locked room mystery is such only because the detectives build it up as one; they don't make any remark about the fact that the door can be locked from inside without the need of a key, they don't check the door frame or the lock (which would have revealed that it was bashed open while unlocked) and they do not even consider for a moment the idea that someone could have made a copy of the keys, which is the first thing anyone would have assumed. Not just that; nobody on the floor who has been working at the bank for years says anything about some cleaning lady they haven't ever seen before and that happens to be the first respondant to the murder.
Other mistake: Florence closes her notepad and puts the cap back on the pen when Dwayne just begun telling everyone what the Gendarmerie reported about one of the suspects. She has no way to know by that point what Dwayne is about to disclose, and that Humphrey is about to leave with her. (00:17:05)
Episode #2.1 - S2-E1
Other mistake: Dwayne is a veteran police officer who's somehow never ever heard of Luminol (misspelled in close captions, incidentally). (00:14:30)
Episode #4.6 - S4-E6
Revealing mistake: Florence passes a mug of coffee to her boss, who goes on to sit in his chair and have a tragic overacting accident. However, when things were still normal and he merely approached the desk, you could see Florence already stop drinking and frown preoccupied before anything bad happened. (00:06:10)
Episode #2.7 - S2-E7
Other mistake: The show, shot in Guadeloupe, part of France, is set in the fictional island of Saint Marie, British overseas territory, with English as official language. When we see the development company sign a big cheque to the local university, it is to the order of University of Guadeloupe (also non-existent, since the university in Guadeloupe would have been in 2012 the University of the French West Indies and Guiana). Incidentally, the document that supposedly incriminating picture (taken at an amazingly public event including giant cardboard fake cheque) is from, is a form about real estate in Nevada. (00:20:50)
Episode #2.5 - S2-E5
Continuity mistake: Fidel and Dwayne are enlisting the help of the stoner guy (who just happens to be there where they need him in a gigantic coincidence!). When he asks them if then he can be a policeman, Dwayne sends him off; his arm is above/at level with his shoulder but at the cut it is not in frame. (00:33:25)
Episode #2.2 - S2-E2
Other mistake: Sister Marguerite throughout the whole episode is wearing not very nun-like quantities of lipstick and mascara - especially considering that the head nun is depicted as strict and frowning upon things like chewing-gum.
Episode #1.3 - S1-E3
Continuity mistake: In the small scene with Fidel and Dwayne deciding who gets to do the fun stuff around the island, Gary Carr's right arm is bent or straight depending on the angle. (00:12:40)
Episode #1.3 - S1-E3
Other mistake: Investigating the crime scene, Richard, facing away from Camille, asks what was the victim drinking. Camille is already going for the glass of rum before he asks the question. (00:03:00)
I hope that watching the scene it can be clear. Camille was busy taking some notes, and he is facing away from her. All of a sudden, he says "So, what was she drinking?" and while he is at "So" Camille is literally lunging to her side to go look at the glass. Neither had any possible way to get that kind of timing, and it's not played as a "Hey, we were both thinking the same thing! Jinx!" kind of gag.
Episode #1.3 - S1-E3
Continuity mistake: Both before and after the credits, there are differences between the wider shot and the close-ups of the dead woman in the way she is lit. The hat and her nose cast shadows of different length and angle. (00:02:05 - 00:02:35)
Episode #1.2 - S1-E2
Continuity mistake: The two investigators meet with Adam Fairs poolside. In the establishing shots there's a hotel staffer closing by, carrying a pile of towels. When Camille poses her question, the man is nowhere to be seen. (00:28:05)
Episode #1.2 - S1-E2
Continuity mistake: Richard calls it a day on the investigation, but he's still chatting about it with Camille during a walk. When he says "One thing's always puzzled me about weddings", two women are crossing the street in front of him. Few seconds and a cut later, when he mentions the bouquet, here they are again, the same girls crossing the same street coming from the same direction as before. (00:23:20)
Episode #1.2 - S1-E2
Continuity mistake: Richard and Camille are questioning the maid, Margaret. She turns around after answering about the "Cleaning in progress" label, and her braid is down her back. In the rest of the scene, it is in front of her shoulder. (00:18:45)
Episode #1.1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: Following James Lavender to the beach, Richard calls him "a little proprietorial", DS Lily Thomson between cuts has alternately her right hand on her hip or not. (00:14:00)
Episode #1.1 - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: Sgt. Lily Thomson drives detective inspector Poole to the beach shack. In the opening wide shot she has her left hand on the steering wheel, but in the closer angles the hand at 12 o'clock is the right hand instead. (00:09:10)
Continuity mistake: When Jack updates the Commissioner on how slowly both cases are going, his left arm is in a different position on the desk between shots. (00:32:30)
Continuity mistake: Backstage, Commissioner Selwyn Patterson reveals to the band members about the message from the victim. The band member in purple has his hand clasped on the beret in noticeably different ways as the shot changes. (00:07:50)
Continuity mistake: When Jack picks up the fork from the floor, it keeps turning around in the first couple of shots and in the last couple of shots (when Florence goes to talk to the others). (00:04:45)
