Tall Woman in Red Wagon - S1-E6
Continuity mistake: Sandra eats a pickle teasing Rockford about his lack of printed fee card. The pickle is lowered or raised depending on the camera angle, first showing the end she chewed on, then the opposite. (00:06:25)
Tall Woman in Red Wagon - S1-E6
Continuity mistake: When Rockford gets "damn tired" of the pursuer and builds speed in reverse, the guy in the car reacts right before the cut moving the right hand away from the wheel to switch gear. In following shots though, he is still being slow, frozen with both hands on the wheel and only after another while coming to his senses and attempting to put the vehicle in reverse as well. (00:23:50)
Tall Woman in Red Wagon - S1-E6
Continuity mistake: Rockford and his client are having lunch with Harry Stoner. When Sandra says "I've known Charlie Duskey..." her hand is at the bottom of the cup, while in the previous and following angle her finger is at the top. (00:25:35)
Tall Woman in Red Wagon - S1-E6
Continuity mistake: Stoner is getting his train ticket. Two guys get theirs before he does and take a seat. One has dark shades and a dark green pattern shirt, the other a hat and a yellow shirt. Those guys make their exit in the background when Rockford is on the phone with Joe Baron Jr, two times several seconds apart. A girl with a teal dress was also in their first shot and she as well leaves at least two times. (00:27:40)
Tall Woman in Red Wagon - S1-E6
Continuity mistake: Rockford asks his client if she ever played doctor. What follows is a shot of the train during the night, but it's reversed - the train number is mirrored. It was not when the train was getting into the station. (00:31:50)
Tall Woman in Red Wagon - S1-E6
Revealing mistake: Rockford and Sandra have conned the conductor into going back to Agent Stoner. An outside shot of the train shows the wagons with mirrored numbers. (00:34:05)
Tall Woman in Red Wagon - S1-E6
Revealing mistake: Harry Stoner is unconscious when Rockford and Sandra push him into the overhead couchette, but you can see his head raise independently from Rockford's sideways push shortly after he lands in it. (00:35:50)
Tall Woman in Red Wagon - S1-E6
Continuity mistake: At the hospital, Charlotte Duskey takes a dramatic pause before saying "The money was mine." First shot; hands on her chest. Second, no hands. (00:40:20)
Tall Woman in Red Wagon - S1-E6
Factual error: At the end of the episode, Rockford regains consciousness while the doctor tells the nurse; "500 cc of adrenaline, stat." Five hundred cc means half a litre. It would kill a whale. (00:43:45)
Tall Woman in Red Wagon - S1-E6
Factual error: This episode takes place in Elmira, California. Sandra tells Rockford that it is about 150 miles south. Rockford is in Los Angeles (it is later confirmed that so is Sandra, Longview to be precise) and Elmira is in Solano County, about 400 miles north.
Revealing mistake: Rockford is at the public phone with his client; during the scene, the same extras (guy with grey jacket and pink shirt, a nun and others) keep walking keep and forth in the lobby all the time. (00:02:30)
Continuity mistake: Rockford speeds up to shake off the guy that is following him. They both take a sharp turn, but the pursuer almost collides with another car. Next time Rockford's car is shown after that, the driver is wearing just a red shirt, not Rockford's houndstooth jacket. (00:05:30)
Continuity mistake: Rockford rear-ends an unsuspecting fella that is paying the parking. He moves the car in the wide shot (he has to, the whole point is that he's pushing the car out of the way and bypassing the bars), but in the close-ups of the guy the car hasn't budged an inch. (00:05:40)
Visible crew/equipment: The mysterious person who was chasing Rockford apparently loses him in the parking lot. As he drives away, on the sidewalk there's filming equipment by the entrance of the lot, and it cuts to an angle that is exactly what they were filming. (00:06:50)
Continuity mistake: Jim got the address of the car and realises it was a fellow private detective who was following him. He then goes to answer the door. He opens it looking straight forward in the first shot, but in the reverse angle he is foolishly looking away allowing the goons to surprise him. (00:10:55)
Continuity mistake: When Rockford is allowed to remove the blind man's glasses, the pen and pencil in front of the boss jump closer to the open journal. (00:13:10)
Continuity mistake: At the party in Rockford's flashback, Loren says "Say Cathy, what about some backgammon?" Behind him, some chap with bad blonde hair and beige shorts and polo shirt walks from left to right. Reverse shot, and the same guy is walking behind Rockford. (00:17:10)
Deliberate mistake: After Rockford pulls into the gas station and wipes down the windshield he speeds away to lose the tail. When he passes the park bench it's a flipped shot, then when the tail passes the park bench it's another flipped shot. (00:18:15)
Audio problem: Warner Jameson is making perfectly clear to Jim how much in control he is. When he says that he plays a mean game, part of the audio is dubbed in and does not mix with the rest. (00:21:40)
Continuity mistake: After the fiasco at the gambling table, Rockford goes back to his motel. He parks his car pretty badly, oblique with the front wheel very far from the parking line. When he tries to chase the two 'chamber of commerce' gangsters, the car is waiting for him nicely parked. (00:27:30 - 00:30:30)
