Star Wars (1977)

Corrected entry: After the Death star, the stick that is used to move the Millennium Falcon is visible when the first TIE fighter attacks it.

Dr Wilson

Correction: Just loaded up the scene on YouTube. That's literally just a part of the TIE fighter. It's not attached to the Falcon at all, and moves with the camera. I feel like this had to have been uploaded as a joke, because if you watch the scene, it's laughably obvious that it's not attached to the Falcon.

TedStixon

Correction: That's the stick used to control the Tie Fighter, not to move the Falcon.

Correction: Not a mistake or error. This was done on purpose to show it from both Bond's and Renard's perspective.

Corrected entry: In the Shrieking Shack, just after Scabbers becomes Pettigrew, when Sirius and Lupin pull him out of the hole, as the camera faces Pettigrew's back while they hold him, the blue tape on his 'missing' finger is visible for 2 frames. (It is necessary to go frame-by-frame.) (01:31:30)

Dr Wilson

Correction: The mistake might be correct, however, if it's necessary to go frame by frame to see it, it shouldn't be admissible as a mistake per the guidelines.

immortal eskimo

Corrected entry: Spaceships are partially transparent on occasion. An example: when the two Star Destroyers collide towards the end, one is visible through the other.

Dr Wilson

Correction: Star Destroyers never collide towards the end of this movie.

Corrected entry: When all the family is outside to see the christmas lights, there is an aerial shot of them. Clarke starts to say "Joy to the world" before you actually hear him say it. (00:26:20)

Dr Wilson

Correction: Clark is not trying to say "Joy to the World" in the overhead shot, he is vigorously moving his head to elicit more louder and enthusiastic "drum rolls" from his skeptical in-laws and parents. Further, the next shot of him (before he turns the lights on and actually sings "Joy to the World") shows him comically moving his mouth to simulate the drum rolls he is getting from his family.

Home Alone (1990)

Corrected entry: When Kevin's father leaves the table to stop Kevin from annoying Buzz, the Pepsi bottle is going to fall, In the following shot, the bottle is not falling and the dishes have moved. (00:09:45)

Dr Wilson

Correction: The bottle does fall, causing people to panic and plates to move.

Corrected entry: When the Griswold family are going to buy a christmas tree, they are in the mountains. There are no mountains near Chicago, where the Griswolds live.

Dr Wilson

Correction: It's unknown how long they've been driving on the road so they more then likely drove somewhere in or near Illinois to get their tree like the Cascade Mountain or the Chestnut Mountain. Both of which are a mere three hour drive.

Correction: The driving scene towards the Christmas tree farm appears to very closely match the area approaching Wisconsin Dells, a very popular summer and winter resort area that is a 2-3 hour drive from Chicago - and also home to many Christmas tree farms.

Correction: The next shot is not of Clark holding a blue package, but of Francis wondering why it's so cold, discovering the stairs are down, then closing them. That is plenty of time for Clark to discover another hidden and forgotten package from the past, which happens to be a blue one, now.

Scott215

Corrected entry: The helicopter that was supposed to be used for the theft at the beginning is a Sikorsky S-76 and they said it would be useless because it can hold only a payload of 300kg. This helicopter can actually carry 1200kg or 12 passengers. (00:25:30)

Dr Wilson

Correction: The 600lb load limit is only for the hook and suspended loads; internal capacity could handle paintings and men. Her comment would hold as they were going to go out on the hook.

Correction: According to Sikorsky's datasheet / sales brochure, the S-76's cargo hook has a load capacity of 3,300lb (1,496kg). This is sufficient to carry a compact SUV or an adult female hippopotamus, so the idea that it would be insufficient to carry a few guys and a couple dozen canvases (removed from their frames) is ludicrous. Source: search for "hook" in the brochure: https://www.lockheedmartin.com/content/dam/lockheed-martin/rms/documents/s-76/Sikorsky-S76D-SAR-Brochure.pdf.

Corrected entry: At the end of the movie, Frank kisses Barbara Bush by accident during his speech. She disappears during a few shots and reappears on the balcony. (01:19:35)

Dr Wilson

Correction: Barbara Bush is simply off camera standing next to her husband, George Bush. She had plenty of time to step back to be next to him when we get a shot of Jane. The balcony scene isn't a continuous shot though. And she's back because she's with George Bush on the balcony.

Star Wars (1977)

Corrected entry: I'm not a specialist in audio equipment, but when the Jawas are transporting R2-D2, one of them has what I think is a microphone in his pocket.

Dr Wilson

Correction: Jawas are Junkers, meaning that he could be carrying just random junk.

Corrected entry: At the end of the pursuit on the Thames, when Bond's boat arrives at the Millennium Dome, his boat flies and then hits the ground. In the next shot, it is still in the air and goes at a high speed. (00:13:10)

Dr Wilson

Correction: Yes, his boat flies over the fence. It then hits the ground as you say but it then bounces back in the air again (which is when Bond jumps onto the balloon). Not a mistake. It bounces twice, that's all.

Goldeneye (1995)

Corrected entry: During the pursuit scene in St. Petersburg, a military truck breaks a fence and falls in the water, but the soldiers inside it fall outside before the impact. (01:18:30)

Dr Wilson

Correction: They jumped out.

Correction: When the shot changes to the wide shot, Mr. Incredible still has his head turned to the side.

The Fifth Element (1997)

Corrected entry: When Leeloo falls in Korben's cab, he parks and then rubs his neck. She's supposed to be still knocked out, but there's the the reflection of somebody moving on the window. It's not Leeloo, it's a man.

Dr Wilson

Correction: I've seen the scenes (even in slow motion) and nothing like this exist. First off, the parking and "rubbing his neck" scene is after Leeloo falls into the cab. There's no reflection of someone moving, however she's not knocked out. When she does get knocked out and Korben is hiding in the fog, there's not a shot of him rubbing his neck. But there still is no reflection of someone moving, although there is a shot of Korben through the window.

Bishop73

Correction: This is not a mistake, but rather a question. The plot revolves around aliens turning the dead into ghouls and vampires. The old man's wife is named in the credits as Vampire Girl. Additionally she is played by Maila Nurmi who created the character 'Vampira' and liked to portray that character in films.

Moonraker (1979)

Correction: As a matter of fact, if you look closely, there is something visible where the astronauts should be. The resolution of the DVD isn't good enough to show details, but you can see that the zone where the astronauts should be looks different. Since the paths are generally well raked, the ground should look exactly the same as everything else. It would have to be an incredible coincidence if whatever it is that's where they should be wasn't the astronauts.

Doc

Corrected entry: In the French version of the film, when Boussh (Leia disguised) takes Chewbacca to Jabba's palace, Jabba says something and the subtitles reads "Ou l'a eu enfin le puissant Chewbacca". Ou means where. It should be written on (we).

Dr Wilson

Correction: Subtitles for foreign releases are typically provided by an outside company, separate from the filmmakers, so shouldn't qualify as a true movie mistake. In fact, the French subtitles on the American DVD reads: "Nous avons enfin l'imposant Chewbacca."

JC Fernandez

Corrected entry: In the French version of the film, it's written "historie de" in the opening credits (it means "story by"). The proper spelling is "histoire".

Dr Wilson

Correction: This mistake can't really be attributed to the film itself as it was a mistake of translators an distributors. The filmmakers, actors crew etc. had no control over it.

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: He could have either snuck in or bribed/tricked the comic book guy.

CBG spots people in disguise and is stubborn in regards to people being banned.
