Dr Wilson

Corrected entry: How is Obi-Wan able to see Anakin pledging allegiance to Palpatine on the hologram, since it happened in Palpatine's office, not the Jedi temple? The only thing he would have been able to see is the massacre of the younglings.

Dr Wilson

Correction: It is a completely different scene that Obi-Wan sees than the one in Palpatine's office. In the one Obi-Wan sees Palpatine is complimenting Anakin on killing the Jedi not giving Anakin his name or doing any of the stuff that happened in Palpatine's office. It's plausible once Palpatine knew the temple was clear of Jedi, he met Anakin there.

Correction: The only time we see the snowflakes touching people are in the Himalayas. Considering they are in subzero temperatures, it's unlikely that the snow would melt right away, and we only see shots of people with snow on them for about a second. As far as the authenticity of the snowflakes go, that is probably left to the viewer. And there are so many varieties of snow - packed, powdered, small flakes, big flakes, etc.

Corrected entry: In the MI-6 headquarter in Scotland, the man playing the bagpipes has a white wire attached to one of his shoes. Maybe a part of the special effect with the flamethrower and the automatic gun?

Dr Wilson

Correction: Assuming the wire is something to do with the flamethrower, I'm not really sure how it's a mistake - even if the device were real, it would still have wires attached to it. If Bond were using it in the field, this would be a mistake, as Q would have disguised the various components better, but when it's simply being tested, having part of the device visible isn't a problem.

Shay

Corrected entry: When Jack is talking about the Gulf Stream, the animation shows it flowing from Europe to the Gulf of Mexico. It actually goes in the opposite direction, that's why Europe is warm. (00:06:45)

Dr Wilson

Correction: Jack was actually referring to the North Atlantic Current which is different than the Gulf Stream. The NAC moves in a counterclockwise pattern between Ireland and Labrador.

The Incredibles (2004)

Corrected entry: If the superheroes want to keep their identity secret, why do they go to Elastigirl and Mr. Incredible's wedding in their supersuits? (00:10:05)

Dr Wilson

Correction: It is possible that Bob and Helen have relationships with some heroes and NOT with their alter egos. Just because a hero shows up in hero form it does not they MUST have a connection to their identity. ie If Batman showed up to Barbra Gordon's wedding that implicates neither Bruce nor Batgirl as Batmans relationship with Commish Gordon is evident and provides the reasoning for Batman's appearence.

Serrabowler

Correction: This was actually before superheroes wanted to keep their identity secret.

That is not true. They had secret identities before Helen and Bob were married. In the newsreel, there is a woman that says something to the effect of, "It is time for the secret identities to be their only identities." The first correction is likely correct.

Star Wars (1977)

Corrected entry: In the control room in the Death Star, there's a rack with 4 guns but later, there are only 3.

Dr Wilson

Correction: There are 3 because Han takes one of them. When he first enters the control room he is carrying a standard imperial blaster rifle but when Han and Luke is taking Chewie down to the detention block Han is carrying a much larger weapon that looks like the ones on the rack.

Star Wars (1977)

Corrected entry: In Mos Eisley's streets, when a group of stormtroopers passes in front of the door where C3P0 and R2D2 are hidden, a flying droid passes through the shoulder of one of them.

Dr Wilson

Correction: Although it hovers right next to the stormtrooper's shoulder it never passes through it.

Andreas[DK]

Correction: Adam and Eve have the same looking glasses in front of them (although presumably different contents). On long shots you can see two identical glasses on the table. So when you see a glass in front of Eve that looks like Adam's, it is really her glass that had been there all along, not Adam's (and vice versa).

The Simpsons (1989)

Correction: Commercials shot in Europe are often shot in two versions; the native language and English. The US/UK market is a huge one and advertising agencies cater for this by shooting English versions of commercials.

Corrected entry: When Carl is talking on the phone after seeing Frank Abagnale Sr, the phone booth shakes each time he touches the window as if it was not attached on the ground. (01:19:50)

Dr Wilson

Correction: Not all phone booths were sturdy. Depending on how old it is it could be very shaky and basically coming off the ground.

Moonraker (1979)

Corrected entry: The space station turns on its axis when the shuttles arrive but it has stopped moving by itself when they attach to it.

Dr Wilson

Correction: The station is stationary when the moonrakers arrive. They dock and a single henchman goes across to turn on the 'artifical gravity' and get the station rotating.

Mission to Mars (2000)

Corrected entry: When they are watching the hologram in the giant face, the planets go in the wrong direction around the sun.

Dr Wilson

Correction: The direction the planets are going depends on where you are viewing it from. We see them going one direction because we are always shown them from what we consider the "top". The Martians may have always viewed them from what we would consider the "bottom" making them appear to go in the opposite direction.

The Fifth Element (1997)

Corrected entry: Before the space shuttle takes off, Ruby Rhod talk to his aides. He has a cigarette in his hand. He says 'zzzz' to them and goes to speak to Korben. His cigarette has disappeared. (01:14:00)

Dr Wilson

Correction: You can see in a split second that he throws the cigarette to the floor just before he waves his hand and says 'Zzzzz.'

Corrected entry: When the airplanes go underwater, a rock gets stuck in a flap of Sky Captain's airplane, causing directional difficulties. After Frankie destroys the enemy ship, the rock magically disappears.

Dr Wilson

Correction: The blast from the enemy ship dislodges the rock.

Corrected entry: Polly and Sky Captain wear their own clothes on Totenkopf's island, but they were burned by the monks in Nepal.

Dr Wilson

Correction: The clothes that were burned by the monks were the winter clothes - warm jackets, snowshoes, etc. Polly and Sky Captain both left their original clothes behind, in order to change into more suitable apparel for trekking the Himalayas. Note the part when Sky Captain tosses Polly a wrapped bundle, tells her that her clothes stay behind and that she won't be needing high heels where they're going.

Correction: That was probably the exchange rate issued at the moment the ransom amount was made official.

Correction: The skeleton is only visible from the shoulders down.

Taxi (1996)

Corrected entry: Daniel says to a customer that he doesn't have his driving license, but Emillien takes it later in the film.

Dr Wilson

Correction: Obviously he said it to fool the customer and/or to piss him off.

Corrected entry: Where is the rope attached that Luke and Leia take to escape from Jabba's ship? On a cloud? They shouldn't be able to swing that far.

Dr Wilson

Correction: It's one of the cables holding the sails in place.

Corrected entry: When Eric returns to Kyle and Stan after he sees Kenny's ghost, his backpack has disappeared.

Dr Wilson

Correction: He set it on the ground when he went to turn off the power and left it there when Kenny frightened him away.
