Man's Best Friend Is Not His Dog - S4-E6
Revealing mistake: As Schultz holds Newkirk's hat during the search, you can see "Dawson" written on the inside band. This was to insure that Richard Dawson (Newkirk) always had the right wardrobe pieces.
How to Catch a Papa Bear - S4-E3
Continuity mistake: When LeBeau comes out of Hogan's quarters after feeding Newkirk chicken soup, he is holding a bowl with a spoon in his right hand. As he talks back and forth with Hogan and Schultz, the spoon jumps from in front of his thumb to behind it.
Man's Best Friend Is Not His Dog - S4-E6
Factual error: When Hogan heads into Klink's flower bed to get the dog, you can see a modern steel water tank in the distance.
Watch the Trains Go By - S4-E19
Visible crew/equipment: As Carter and Newkirk are caught by the wire, the shadow of the camera pulling back is seen on the ground.
Factual error: The ambulance Major Teppel transports the prisoners in is a Dodge WC54, which is an American military ambulance, not a German one.
Other mistake: As LeBeau is being interrogated, on the barometer behind Schultz you can make out the word "fair." What is a barometer labeled in English doing in a German counter-intelligence headquarters?
Will the Blue Baron Strike Again? - S4-E12
Factual error: The "Blue Baron" tells the dancer that the Kaiser gave him a certain medal. In fact, the medal he points to (and the girl fondles) is a WW2 repeat badge to the Iron Cross first class, instituted in 1939 to denote presentations of the Iron Cross first class to personnel who had already received it in WW1. He may have received the original Iron Cross from the Kaiser, but by the time he had a chance to receive that repeat badge, the Kaiser was long through handing out medals. (00:15:10)
The Return of Major Bonacelli - S4-E25
Revealing mistake: When Hogan, Carter and Le Beau are talking to Schultz, you can see it is an overcast day. After Hochstetter comes in and the camera cuts to them talking about Bonacelli, it goes back to Hogan. You can now see that they are on a sound stage. The reasons are that the guard isn't moving in The Tower, the boys are well lit, and as Hogan and Le Beau go into the barracks, you can see differences in the painting of the sky on the back drop.
Continuity mistake: After the prisoners have loaded the truck, they stand around and the tailgate of the truck is down. Major Hochstetter arrives and we see the tailgate is raised. Next scene it is again in the lowered position. (00:17:40)
Visible crew/equipment: As Hogan and Carter approach the staff car, the crew and film equipment are reflected on the chrome of the lights and radiator.
Hogan's Trucking Service... We Deliver the Factory to You - S4-E4
Audio problem: When Crittenden is figuring out military time he asks Hogan how much four and six are. The answer doesn't match Hogan's lips.
Factual error: Hogan and his men are in Berlin to capture a traitor. They arrive at the Hotel Berlin in an ambulance and park near a K2 phone booth, something only found in England and its colonies, certainly never in the heart of Nazi Germany. (00:13:55)
Klink vs. the Gonculator - S4-E2
Continuity mistake: In the barracks, as Lutz stands by the gonculator, Hogan's hand toys with the power cord. A second later, both his hands are at his sides.
Continuity mistake: As Major Tepple (Morrison) lays the deck of cards in Hogan's room on the table, the bottom card is not neatly in the deck. When the camera cuts to another angle, the deck is neatly stacked.
Continuity mistake: When Helga brings in Klink's dinner and sits it down, Klink takes off his monocle. In the close up, it's on and his hands are folded, then he points to a chess piece, contemplating a move. In the wide shot, he's holding his monocle, and puts it on.
Watch the Trains Go By - S4-E19
Continuity mistake: As Schultz is by the car, Hogan is behind the fire brigade equipment. When Klink calls Schultz, Hogan gets up from behind the equipment. A second later, in a closeup, he comes up from behind the equipment again.
How to Catch a Papa Bear - S4-E3
Factual error: In the tunnel Hogan loads a magazine into a US issue .45 pistol and points it at Myra, but he never chambered a round and didn't cock the hammer on the pistol. The .45 pistol in WW2 was single action. For a single action pistol to fire, a round needs to be chambered and the hammer has to be cocked manually before the trigger is pulled and the pistol to fire. (00:22:00)
Never Play Cards with Strangers - S4-E7
Other mistake: As Carter brings the German truck to a rough stop, in the closeup, you can see that although Carter and Newkirk lurch in the seats, the truck was already motionless.
Factual error: The cover of the plan for Unternehmen Hannibal is marked "SEHR GEHEIM." That phrasing does not exist in German. The correct term would be "streng geheim".
Suggested correction: Considering they have a tailor (Newkirk) and are air dropped everything from explosives to penicillin, a Class A dress uniform would hardly be a challenge to make or receive.
stiiggy
Klink: "Hogan, where did you get that uniform?!" - Hogan: "Oh, I had OSS airdrop it together with our latest shipment of explosives and ammunition. We brought it in through our tunnel last night and stored it there."
Doc ★
I got it from the Red Cross.
stiiggy
Only a few high ranking intelligence officers are aware of Hogan's mission. Hogan's activities would under normal circumstances be considered fraternisation. While it might be true that he could theoretically obtain a class A uniform via the red cross, doing so would brand him as a collaborator and traitor.
