Sliding Doors (1998)

Corrected entry: The final shot of the movie - Helen and James turning to look at each other as the lift doors slide shut - is played twice, you can see Helen turning to the left twice.

Shay

Correction: This is too blatant to be any kind of error, it is intentional to show how surprised they both are. Does the phrase "double take" sound familiar?

Correction: There is a similar looking cuddly toy on that cabinet but it is definitely not Hugsy. It's clearly a different shape.

Correction: If you watch the scene carefully Rachel is reaching for the phone and hangs up just a fraction of a second before she screams.

A Knight's Tale (2001)

Corrected entry: Count Adhemar claims he commands a Free Company in the south of France. The Free Companies were mercenaries who refused to disband when they were "de-mobbed" and then marauded the country. They were called "Free Companies" because they had no leader.

Ioreth

Correction: This is not true. One of the best known of the free companies was the "White Company" who were led by Sir John Hawkwood. They weren't sworn to a feudal lord, but had their own leader.

True Lies (1994)

Corrected entry: In the scene where the terrorist jumps the motorcycle from the hotel into the pool on the other building's rooftop, why didn't Tom Arnold and the rest of the law enforcement officers just arrest him when he exited the building on the ground floor? He had to leave that building at some point and it was right across the street from where they were.

Correction: There are many possibilities. They may not have known the terrorist had jumped to another building. There may simply not have been enough of them to secure all exits from the second building--he presumably did not just walk out the front door.

Dr. No (1962)

Corrected entry: Bond shoots Professor Dent with a silencer on his gun. There's just one problem. The silencer is still in London. If you watch Bond's briefing, only the gun is out of its box, the silencer (presumably) is in the box, but it is never taken out. Bond then gives the box to Moneypenny before leaving.

Correction: Moneypenny noticed Bond's oversight and had the silencer delivered to the airport before he left London along with the background information that Q promised would be delivered to him at the airport.

Friends (1994)

Correction: Joey is a natural liar as evidenced by his behaviour all through the show. He lies to and about women, he lied on his resume and has commented on it more than once. He lied when he was pretending to be Chandlers colleague. The issue in this case is that Joey can't think on his feet when he suddenly needs an excuse.

Bad Boys II (2003)

Corrected entry: The mines shown outside the US base in Cuba towards the end of the film were actually banned by the Geneva Convention so its highly unlikely that the US would consider using them.

Correction: Given the other breaches of the Geneva Convention by the US with regard to detentions at Guantanamo bay, the use of these mines cannot be assumed to be a movie mistake.

Corrected entry: When Shakespeare is playing Romeo at the end and is doing the poison drinking scene, he first opens the bottle, says what he has to say and in the next shot he opens the bottle again before he actually drinks the stuff.

rabid anarchist

Correction: We see him open it then give his speech but the shot where he drinks from the bottle is from behind him and the bottle can't be seen. Although his free hand reaches to the bottle, we can only speculate why, we certainly can't see him open it a second time.

Corrected entry: Andy asks a bank clerk to put an envelope into their outgoing mail. This envelope contains all information about the criminal goings-on at Shawshank and is addressed to a newspaper. When Norton sees the headline in the paper, which could be, at best, two days later, he opens the safe to find the hole in the bible where the rock hammer was hidden. It's unimaginable that he would have waited for so long after Andy's escape to check the contents of the safe. (01:55:35)

NancyFelix

Correction: The warden certainly did check the safe as soon as Andy escaped but only to confirm that the contents were still there. It was only once he saw the headline that he really looked inside the book.

Corrected entry: When Red goes to the Mexican border the bus is totally empty on the right side, while on the left side (the hot, sunny side) there's a passenger behind every window. (02:09:45)

NancyFelix

Correction: A slightly unusual choice but hardly a movie mistake. It's not a mistake for people to want to sit in the sun and it's safe to assume the position of the sun with respect to the bus would change during the journey so maybe they were on the shady side at the start.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: When Andy escapes during a thunderstorm every lightning strike, be it heard close or distant, is accompanied by its thunder exactly at the very moment it strikes. (01:53:00)

NancyFelix

Correction: I've watched this scene again and it's clear that the thunder storm is right overhead so that the thunder and lightening are coincident. There may be an impression that it's sometimes close and sometimes distant simply because it's not always the same volume which is normal.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: At the end when Andy escapes, he is wearing the warden's shoes and suit shirt, which fit him perfectly. It is obvious neither would fit a man of Andy's frame. (01:52:25)

Correction: We see him wearing the wardens shoes and shirt in the prison one time. He only needs them to avoid suspicion once he gets to town. He then had enough time to buy better fitting stuff before visiting the banks.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: When Andy escapes through the tunnel he had dug during his 19 years at Shawshank it looks several meters long. Since his cell was on an upper floor it must have been through a wall of unheard-of thickness. (01:51:15)

NancyFelix

Correction: There's no shot in the movie which gives a clear idea of exactly how long the tunnel is. It is not stretching credibility to imagine that a prison would have unusually thick walls.

The One In Barbados, part 2 - S9-E24

Corrected entry: In the episode in Barbados (part 2) when Mike and Monica are playing table tennis, Mike goes to great pains to explain that if a player puts his/her non bat hand on the table while the ball is in play then the player forfeits the point. Just before Mike wins his game (the second game they play) he stretches to get a shot from Monica and places his non bat holding hand on the table.

Kara

Correction: Not a mistake in the show, Mike cheated and nobody noticed.

Wayne's World 2 (1993)

Corrected entry: At the end of the movie during the spoof on "The Graduate", Wayne is going after Cassandra to stop her wedding. He stops at a gas station to get gas, chats briefly with Charleton Heston, and then is back on the road again. After running out of gas, running on foot, and finally making it to the church, you can see in the background the same scenery (namely a high school) that is in the background as when he stopped for gas all that "distance" ago.

Correction: There is a clear shot when Wayne is at the gas station showing that he has no gas. He stopped for directions, not to fill up so when he really runs out of gas, he's still close to the gas station. Add a couple more blocks on foot and it's not surprising that the same scenery is in the background.

Wayne's World 2 (1993)

Corrected entry: In the movie Wayne gets caught spying on Cassandra and Bobby. He loses his balance and falls from a telephone pole. When he hits the ground his body dents the concrete and then he gets up. If you look closely, the dent was there before Wayne hit the ground.

Correction: I've watched this scene closely and when Wayne falls, he breaks the concrete, he doesn't dent it. There is nothing at all unusual about the concrete before he lands on it, there was certainly no dent present. There does appear to be a line but since the concrete doesn't break along this line we can assume it has no significance.
