Corrected entry: When Jack and Wang are questioned by Rain before they meet Lo-Pan, Rain blows rubber balls at Jack with punching force. As you look as he casts the second, Kurt Russel doubles over before the (inserted) ball actually hits.

Correction: No he doesn't and even if the submitters perception is different, it would be quite normal to start to double over when you know a ball is about to hit you.

Corrected entry: In the street fight scene, Chang Sing and Wing Kong fight each other with swords, and Wing Kong wins. But as he stabs his adversary, the blade goes somewhere past the hip (play in slow-mo).

Correction: Not a mistake if slow motion is needed, it looks ok at normal movie speed.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: In the scene where Gene is talking to Jon there are clear skies and it's sunny. As soon as Gene starts running it's raining.

Correction: Gene has a plastic cover on his hat so rain is expected. But more importantly; it's a different scene when we see him running.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: Towards the end of the movie, Brill, in the van outside the restaurant, says "This guy's going down and he's gonna take all of you with him. Trust me on this." However, when we are at the FBI interview room, the recording of the same conversation is missing the line "Trust me on this." (01:50:05 - 01:58:55)

Correction: The scene in the FBI interview room is not intended to be a duplicate of the earlier conversations, it is some highlights to show what happened so of course some parts are missing.

Where Eagles Dare (1968)

Corrected entry: Just before they all jump out of the cable car, Smith takes two lit light bulbs out of the ceiling of the cable car with his bare hands. In real life, his hands would have been burned.

Correction: These bulbs will certainly be lower power than your average house light and will be less hot. Plus his life is at risk and burned hands seem a small price to pay to remain alive.

Corrected entry: In the shoot up at the end of the film, the crooked politician (the guy who is chasing Will Smith, and who ordered the killing at the start) is punched in the face. If you watch it slowly, his glasses fall off twice within the second after he is punched.

Correction: Firstly he's not punched, he's pushed, and the use of slow motion for something minor invalidates this.

Corrected entry: After Bond has taken his place earlier in the film, the real Peter Franks arrives in Amsterdam. He goes to Tiffany's apartment, rings the bell, and says via the intercom "It's Peter Franks". She answers "Third floor" and opens the door. Shouldn't she say something like "You know the way"? After all, Franks has already been in her apartment.

Correction: A character mistake at worst, but it's certainly not a movie mistake to remind someone what floor you live on. Seems like common courtesy to me.

Goldfinger (1964)

Corrected entry: Bond's car has bullet proof windows, yet when he tries to escape from Oddjob and Goldfinger's men (after overhearing "Operation Grand Slam") the front windscreen not only has bullet marks but holes where it looks as if the bullets have gone through the glass. One of these lines up with Bond's forehead and a few of the other look as if they should have caused him some serious harm-but didn't.

Correction: Despite what the Bond movies would have us believe, no glass is fully bulletproof so the bad guys presumably had sufficient firepower. We can only assume that Bond's forehead was not in line with the bullet-hole when it was created. Hardly a mistake for him to try to avoid oncoming bullets.

Wayne's World (1992)

Corrected entry: Camera film does not unravel out of the camera like it did when Wayne opened the camera on the video set - if it is still in use, it should stay where it is. If it is fully rewound, why is it still in the camera?

Andy Benham

Correction: Perhaps inaccurate but clearly done for comic effect and as such is not a mistake.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: In the opening scene where Marty plugs his guitar into the gigantic amplifier, there is no feedback - if he was standing that close, at that volume, with that amount of overdrive, there would be some ridiculously loud feedback almost instantaneously. The pickups on an electric guitar will feedback the output from a speaker just as easily as a microphone does.

Correction: Given that Doc has just invented a time machine, the idea that he could invent an amp that doesn't suffer from feedback isn't so far fetched.

tw_stuart

Corrected entry: While Donovan and Indy are looking at the tablet, if you freeze the movie while it shows the tablet, you can clearly see the word "deorum", meaning "of the gods". Not something you would expect a Christian to be carrying around, considering they are monotheistic. (00:17:50)

Correction: Firstly if you have to pause the movie then it's not a mistake but aside from that, some early Christian theology believed that the holy trinity was to be interpreted literally and hence Christianity was not monotheistic.

tw_stuart

It's visible without freezing - although the normal viewer wouldn't start reading. It's not coherent Latin to begin with, deorum is basically just one example of that. Borderline. They knew what they wanted it to say, so they could have made a better prop. But if someone is reading a newspaper headline and there's nonsense below, is that a mistake? Not sure.

Spiny Norman

The tablet simply should not speak of gods, plural, because the Crusaders were monotheistic. The trinity (although a confusing concept) is not referred to as three gods. And other, obscure and far away versions of Christianity have nothing to do with it.

Spiny Norman

Actually it says "rex deorum nostrum" which means "Our king of the Gods." Meaning the one true God, above all other gods. If you read the few words before it left of the cross it fully says "The army of the king of the Gods.", meaning the templars I think.

lionhead

I feel that this is putting a positive spin on it. Nostrum by the way should be "noster" for your interpretation to work. I stand by my earlier opinion that they could have made a better prop, one with a "prop-er" Latin text without errors.

Spiny Norman

I think for a prop it's actually pretty good. Most parts of the text in Latin is almost identical to what Indy is reciting. He just happens to skip the part we are talking about. The tablet is worn down and partial too so the wrong spelling is explained by the missing words or letters, like "nostrum." They took a while to make this thing for the movie.

lionhead

Oh right. Good, except that the fact that there were plenty of people just a phone call away who could have made a CORRECT Latin text. And I don't want to sound sarcastic or anything, but I didn't know stone inscriptions could develop spelling errors. It hasn't been badly copied by a monk - they are looking at the original - epigraphy is generally very reliable, when it's there, it's there. And IF there were gaps in the text, then we would see the actual gaps. (Also: If you want to connect "exercitum" to "rex" then the latter should become "regis.").

Spiny Norman

You know what? You may be right. For those few seconds of screen time, I'm OK with it though, personally.

lionhead

Yes that is what I agree with as well. It's not visible long enough for any normal person to start seeing the errors.

Spiny Norman

Corrected entry: At Dorian's home you see the Fantom's men turn from behind bookcases, some have normal machine guns, some have long silencer looking things on the barrels. Why have silencers when the others have normal ones?

Correction: They only look like silencers and may not be, besides it's certainly not a movie mistake. Perhaps the silenced guns lead the attack to maintain the element of surprise for as long as possible.

Groundhog Day (1993)

Corrected entry: There are three shots where Phil talks to Rita at the bar. In the first two shots, the straw in the glass is pointing to Rita, while in the third it is straight up.

Correction: There are no rules suggesting that everything should be identical each day. Many things change due to Phil's presence.

The Full Monty (1997)

Corrected entry: When the lads are dancing in the dole queue, Lomper is with them. What's he doing there? He already has a job (as a security guard), and I think somebody would've noticed him illegally claiming benefits.

Andy Benham

Correction: There are many kinds of benefits that can be claimed even by those with jobs. Even if he was claiming benefits illegally, there's no reason to assume that he "would've been noticed", it happens all the time.

tw_stuart

Correction: He might not be claiming. I used to accompany a tenant of my house when he went to pick up his benefit giro to make sure he handed over his rent.

Ocean's Twelve (2004)

Corrected entry: In the scene just before they go to Amsterdam Saul walks out saying "I want the last cheque i write to bounce". Reuben then offers to cover his share of the money and Danny says to him "You don't have to do that". Reuben then says "Who would I talk to if your all dead?" Danny replies - "good point". Its actually a bad point because if no one covered Saul's share they would all be dead, including Reuben.

Al

Correction: Whether it's a good or bad point is just opinion, Danny is just making conversation or has not fully understood the consequences.

Groundhog Day (1993)

Corrected entry: In one shot Phil encounters Nancy Taylor at the pavilion at Gobblers Knob. The same view of the pavilion can be seen in the shot when Phil arrived at Gobblers Knob the first time, and again in a later shot of the same view, both times Nancy was not standing there.

Correction: Many of the characters do not do identical things each day because Phil interacts with them. We don't know if Nancy is there or even if Phil arrives at exactly the same moment that Nancy would be standing there.

The Island (2005)

Corrected entry: Starkweather runs out of the operating room, and then get dragged back. A guy with an open chest would bleed much more than that.

Ronnie Bischof

Correction: Surgical techniques are clearly much more advanced than those of today and it's not clear what stage the operation is at.

Ocean's Twelve (2004)

Corrected entry: When Nightfox is moving throughout the laser beams, you can see that the beams hit him at least once.

Correction: It's impossible to tell, this whole scene is very silly but any laser beam that appears to hit him may simply be passing over him. We see it from so many angles that we don't know for sure.

The One With The Cake - S10-E4

Corrected entry: When Joey tries to get Ross' parents to share their birthday gift for Emma with him, Ross' father says: "Which one are you?" As well as having met him many times before, the only other options of who he could be is Ross, his own son or Chandler, his daughter's husband.

Correction: Certainly not a movie mistake to have a character forget who someone is. Some people are not good with names and faces.

Friends (1994)

Correction: It's hypothetical, Chandler is mocking his own inability to show emotion by saying that *if* they get married then he'll be standing long faced at the alter. Lots of couples talk about being married well before a proposal is made.
