Continuity mistake: When 007 and Natalia are in the plane flying over the pond and looking for the dish, Bond says "Maybe Wade was right. There is no dish." As he is saying this you can see that they are leaving the pond behind. This is obvious as you can see the trees on the same side they are flying over. Yet the missile shoots out of the pond and hits the wing while the plane is over the pond. There would not have been enough time to turn the plane round and go over the pond again. (01:37:00)
Continuity mistake: After the American agent "delivers" the Cessna to James Bond and Natalia, they make several passes over the lake in Cuba. Then, the plane is hit by a rocket. Right before they crash the plane, it becomes a different plane. The original one is white and maroon. The one that crashes is white and red. It happened too fast to check the N-Number or registration, but the second plane was an earlier model as well. (01:37:45)
Visible crew/equipment: Throughout the film, but in particular near the dish in Cuba, the models of buildings are obvious with typical small flames and/or droplets of water (from the days of 'Earthquake') when they explode. (01:40:00)
Continuity mistake: When Xenia is crushed to death in the crotch of a tree by her safety harness, her head is looking down. When Bond and Natalya look at the dead Xenia after the helicopter explosion, her head is now looking up. (01:40:00)
Revealing mistake: During the draining of the water in the dish, some shots show the water moving backwards. For instance, at a particular moment, masses of water jump up, arc toward the opening, and fall in it. The most likely reason is that, during the filming, the special effects people took a shot of a replica of the dish filling with water, then edited it the other way to show that the water was emptied from the dish. (01:42:00)
Continuity mistake: When the Cuban radio dish is being emptied, there is a shot of the last few feet being drained, but the rest of the dish (which had presumably just been emptied) is far too dry. This is due to reversing the film - still a mistake. (01:42:30)
Factual error: At one point, Bond and Natalia jump into the dried satellite basin and slide uncontrollably towards the centre to avoid gunfire from jungle soldiers. The friction encountered would have burned off their skin and clothes, leaving them for dead. Even though the area has just come out of the water, you can see that the basin is stone dry. (01:43:00)
Factual error: Boris changes the satellite's orbit to be over London instantaneously via computer. Re-tasking a satellite takes days, even weeks. (01:43:00)
Suggested correction: We're talking about a fictional USSR weapon. There's nothing saying it couldn't have been designed in canon for rapid positioning. Furthermore, we don't see Boris again after betraying Natalya until we see him in Cuba, which could have easily been a week or 2 - he could have started the repositioning when he first arrived.
Continuity mistake: Xenia's hair is tied up in a pony tail, but when Bond fires at the helicopter it's loose. Then it goes back to a pony tail. (01:43:00 - 01:44:01)
Continuity mistake: When the dish is draining out, the concrete is smooth, allowing all the water to run down the hole with no interference. Later, when Bond and Natalya are skidding down the dish, there is a little ledge around the hole that stops them falling to their death. (01:43:50)
Continuity mistake: Xenia is squeezed to death in a tree. The tree seems to change height. When the helicopter is falling and dragging Xenia, she is lifted up towards a very tall tree. When they look again at her after she dies, the tree is extremely short and her legs are no more than a meter away from the ground. (01:44:00)
Suggested correction: Optical illusion. When the camera pulls back to show Xenia slumped against the tree, it still looks very tall, and she is at least ten feet above the ground.
Factual error: When Bond and Natalya slide down the dish after being shot at, Bond stops them by putting his feet against a bar or something at the edge of the hole. However, they are traveling so fast that this should have broken (or at least somehow injured) his legs. Plus, that little thing called inertia should have sent them both over the bar, down the hole, and to their deaths. (01:48:15)
Revealing mistake: At the scene where Alec Trevelyan and Bond are fighting on the antenna cradle, there is one shot (about 1 second in length) where you can see the face of the stunt double. This occurs just after Bond rolls down the stairs, and we see a shot of Trevelyan putting a new magazine in his gun. The double jumps over the edge of the platform, and then Brosnan is in the room with the huge chain drive thing that moves the antenna. (01:53:00)
Continuity mistake: When Bond lets go of Trevelyan on the antenna, he falls straight down and lands on the flat surface of the dish. However, he should've actually fallen into the large hole in the centre of the dish which collected all the water earlier. It's even shown directly below him as he falls. (01:57:20)
Factual error: After Trevelyan gets killed by falling on the dish, Bond jumps on the chopper to escape. But the chopper has to be at least 10-12 feet away from Bond to avoid its wings touching the pole Bond was hanging from. Also, Bond can't be high up as he has to be below the wing level of the chopper, else he will crash in the wings. How did he manage to jump so easily such a large distance? Some art of flying horizontally in air? (01:58:05)
Revealing mistake: Bond's stunt double is incredibly visible running up the stairs at the antenna, while being shot at by 006. The double is visible again when Bond jumps down the stairs and rolls. (01:58:10)
Factual error: At the climax of the movie, when Bond is holding Trevelyan by his foot over the dried lake and the dialog exchange of "For England, James?" "No... for me.", Bond lets go of Trevelyan. He then falls a very long distance onto solid concrete. A short time later, the movie shows Trevelyan still alive and moving his head around. This is not possible. A fall from that that height, especially falling on concrete, would have killed him instantly. The shot of him hitting showed him landing on his head and back first. This would have crushed his skull, and snapped his spine. Even if that didn't kill him, it would have knocked him out cold. The mistake goes even further though. The antenna array then explodes and falls on Trevelyan, while he screams at the top of his lungs. Even if someone was somehow able to survive that fall, the damage done to their body would have caused massive internal damage and bleeding. Trevelyan's lungs would have filled with blood. There is no way he could have screamed, let alone that loudly. So this mistake is twofold. The fall would have killed him instantly. And even if not, he could not have possibly screamed. (01:59:05)
Suggested correction: This is simply your opinion. There is record of people surviving skydiving falls where their chutes didn't open. While it is likely he would have died on impact or been unable to move or scream if surviving, it is not a certainty.
Revealing mistake: When Bond kicks Trevelyan off the antenna ledge, the side-on shot reveals both stuntmen instead of Pierce Brosnan and Sean Bean. (02:02:41)
Continuity mistake: At the end, all the marines reveal themselves, to the surprise of Bond and the woman (fair enough). But at the same time, three helicopters come in from the top of the screen, which apparently no one had heard or seen until that second. Odd, especially since they only start making any noise when they're in shot... (02:05:23)
