Continuity mistake: When the Navigator is shot by the helicopters you see it fly up, but while the ugly dude is in it. But when Xander drives off it to get over the Cocaine shack you can obviously can tell that he is not in the car.
Continuity mistake: The first time you see Samuel L. Jackson, his eye on the burnt side is a real pale brown, but throughout the movie his eye changes to a normal brown and then light, then back to dark.
Visible crew/equipment: Watch Xander's face as he stands on his car before he jumps off the bridge at the beginning - it can be seen that it is the stunt double and not Xander.
Visible crew/equipment: When Xander is jumping from the plane with the snowboard attached to his feet he does some aerial moves. When he is finished and about to pull his parachute cord you get a shot from up above. On the ground you can see the shadow of the helicopter that is there to film the aerial shots of the scene.
Continuity mistake: When XXX first gets on top of the AHAB submarine, he lands on it with a smash and you can clearly see his arm hitting the bubble covering the harddrive, which then is very loose and even opens up for a few centimeters. Next shot we see XXX opening up the bubble by releasing some security handles.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie where Xander's tanning at Bora Bora, notice that his tattoos are brighter. They have a just re-applied look.
Plot hole: When Vin Diesel is in the GTO chasing Ahab, it's above water but earlier in the film it was stated that Ahab only needed to surface to gather energy so it could stay under water.
Revealing mistake: When they are chasing AHAB, he tells her to cross the bridge. She does but she turns left onto the bridge. She should have been turning right from the left side of the river. Very obvious mistake.
Continuity mistake: When Vin Diesel and the Corvette are falling off the bridge, watch the Corvette. It changes position between shots (nose up, nose down, level). There is not sufficient time in between shots for it to tumble into its new positions.
Audio problem: In the mountain battle scene when Xander is in the airplane, he says: "Get me along that tower." His lips don't match with what he says, indicating this line was added during post-production.
Continuity mistake: During the test when they infiltrate the drug lord's camp and X escapes. In one scene before he leaves the barn/building to go outside and get the bike you see him get up and lean against the door twice. Once to get up and look outside to see one of the copters blow up a truck then it cuts to a reverse angle and you see him get up again to lean against the door.
Factual error: When X uses the tray to "skateboard" down on the rails of the stairs, how could that tray possibly take his weight? The tray would have either bent in half or snapped in half and would have had X fall crotch first onto the railing.
Factual error: When Xander is riding down the rooftop of the barn in Colombia, he lands perfectly smooth without a sound. Now with a jump of at least 10 feet and at that speed, the motorcycle would at least bounce a bit.
Plot hole: Gibbons ordered the 'Ahab' blown up. He justified it by it's better that they blew up a city if it stopped ten from being destroyed. Then why did they even enter the city and get as close to it as they could?
Continuity mistake: Just after X gets his new GTO and the cop knocks the window of the warehouse out, X and the bad guy jump back into the GTO. They drive out of the warehouse and the car is dirty on the bottom. If the car was spotless in the previous shot indoors, how did the car get so dirty so fast?
Factual error: The castle is built amongst beautiful scenery, however, there are no mountains like that in the Czech Republic.
Other mistake: The bad guy spots Xander snowboarding using telescope. The telescope's angle was too low to spot him as high up on the mountainside as he actually was at the time. You can see how far down the building is as he pauses to trigger the avalanche. Keep in mind that he was in fact higher up as he was spotted before triggering the avalanche.
Factual error: There are no mountains high enough near Prague. The closest mountains that fit the description are the Alps between Germany and Italy.
Answer: Vin Diesel chose to reject the sequel as he was being offered three different franchises, based on XXX, The Fast and the Furious concept and the character of Riddick (from Pitch Black) - he presumably felt that he couldn't commit to them all. In the end, he chose to go with the Riddick films and reject the others. The sequel is called XXX for the simple reason that the character is still present - they've just recast the role.
