Revealing mistake: Peter Parker climbs his first wall in an alleyway. Look carefully at his shadow - it is directly in front of him on the wall the whole time, indicating that he is being lit from directly behind. The only thing behind him is the opposite wall. The only possible light sources would be from the opening of the alleyway (which would have cast a long shadow to his left) or from above (which would have cast a long shadow behind him). (00:24:50)
Continuity mistake: Right after Peter has beats up Flash, only Mary-Jane stands to the right of Peter. If you look behind her there are two extras, to the right of her whenever there is a far shot, and to the left of her on the close up of her. (00:25:00)
Revealing mistake: When Peter is jumping from building to building after he first learns he has powers, you can see that he is jumping over the same alley over and over, only taken at different angles. The clotheslines (and the shadow of them on the wall) is a good pointer. (00:25:10)
Continuity mistake: When Peter first learns he can climb walls after running out of school, his shoes are different when he is on the wall compared to when he is on the roof. (00:26:20)
Continuity mistake: When Peter is taking out the trash, and MJ walks out and says, "Were you listening to that?". Watch Peter as he turns around to look at MJ twice. (00:27:40)
Continuity mistake: When MJ and Peter are discussing the beating that Peter gave Flash that morning in school, MJ says, "He's just glad you didn't give him a black eye for graduation." This scene takes place the day after Peter was bitten by the spider, when the weather is cold. High school graduations generally take place in June or late May - so any black eye Peter might have given Flash would long be healed up by graduation. (00:29:15)
Suggested correction: I think it's just figurative speech, exaggeration. He hits him on the chest after all.
Continuity mistake: When Peter is taking out the trash, and begins talking to Mary Jane, as she walks toward him you can see her underwear sticking out above her pants. As the shots change, this underwear seems to appear and disappear. (00:29:24)
Continuity mistake: When Peter is drawing up ideas for his costume the hand is that of comic artist Phil Jimenez, current artist of Wonder. Phil Jimenez is right handed and Tobey is left handed. In one of the cuts the pen is in Tobey's left hand but it shows him drawing with his right. (00:31:25)
Continuity mistake: When Peter shoots his web at his bedroom lamp and pulls it across the room, it smashes against the wall and breaks. But when Aunt May is talking to Peter from the door seconds later, the lamp is back on the dresser in one piece. (00:32:15)
Continuity mistake: When Peter and his uncle are talking in the car, they are parked on the side of a one way street, with their car in the same direction as the traffic, but when the camera is on the uncle, you can see cars going in the opposite direction reflected in the windows behind him. (00:33:10)
Continuity mistake: When Peter shoots webs around his room and hits the rocket over, all that is on the nightstand is the cool light bulb lamp, the picture and the Dr. Pepper can. When it flips back to the nightstand again you can see some weird green alarm clock next to the overturned picture. (00:33:15)
Continuity mistake: When Peter is practising throwing spider webs in his bedroom, his first attempt hits a model rocket and it breaks in many pieces. A few shots later when he finally hits the Dr. Pepper can, as he whips it across the room you can see the rocket back in one piece, just leaning against the wall. (00:33:15)
Audio problem: When one of Bonesaw's blond hench-women gives him a crow-bar to hit Spidey with, you hear her say "Kick his spider ass," but her lips don't match with what she is yelling. (00:40:00)
Continuity mistake: After the wrestling match when Peter goes to collect his money only to receive 100 bucks, he argues with the guy, if you watch, the guys hand is on the money bills, yet in the following shot, his right arm as well as his hand are on the desk. (00:40:00)
Continuity mistake: In the scene on the street, right after the crook escapes with the wrestling money, Peter is standing watching all the people rush to his uncle Ben - there is a girl wearing a black leather jacket, white shirt and black go-go boots walking with 2 guys. When Peter runs to his uncle, she is behind him. When Peter pushes through the crowd, the girl is already there, to the right of the shot. (00:41:25)
Other mistake: After Uncle Ben gets shot, he is clutching his wound. When Peter shows up, they hold hands until Uncle Ben dies, yet there is no blood on Peter's hand. If Uncle Ben were just covering a gun shot wound, wouldn't there be blood on his hand, which would then be on Peter's? (00:42:00)
Continuity mistake: After Uncle Ben dies and Peter takes off down the alleyway there is an obvious cut to a green screen. His hair was flowing in the air, then becomes suddenly flat with no wind passing. (00:42:50)
Continuity mistake: When Spider-Man is chasing the crook with the gun, the crook shoots 7 times through the roof of the car. Shortly afterwards you can see 9 bullet holes in an overhead shot. As the scene moves along there is another overhead shot (just after Spider-Man jumps the bridge) - no bullet holes. Seconds later the bullet holes return. (00:44:40)
Continuity mistake: When Parker is chasing the robber into the abandoned warehouse, you see a shot of the robber holding the gun in his left hand and carrying the money bag in his right hand. However, the next shot you see him load a clip into the gun with the bag in his left hand and the gun in his right hand. (00:45:25)
Continuity mistake: When Uncle Ben's killer enters the warehouse he reloads his gun and pulls the slide back to cock it. Later, when he points the same gun at Peter, you can hear the distinct sound of the hammer being pulled back. However, despite cocking the gun twice, you can see that the gun is not cocked. (00:46:25)
