Character mistake: Colonel Breen theorises to Quatermass that the spaceship is an experimental German V-weapon from the second world war: However according to the story, the underground station (Hobbs End) was dug in 1927: The V-weapons first landed in London in 1944, so how was it possible for a V-weapon to land where it did underground, impacted soild in clay right next to a deep level underground railway station seventeen years later without anyone noticing at the time? Breen should realise that his theory makes no sense.
Character mistake: During an intermission following Dmitri's revenge after the attempted hit on him, the Chief of staff discusses the data with Dr. Updale. There's a pie chart in the screen in the background, and the segments are; 5%, 25%, 16%, 14% and 50%, which add to...110%. It's not a pie chart, it's a pie and a slice. (00:50:15)
Character mistake: At the truck stop, Mark (young Damian) meets with Martin. Martin tells Mark that he had the shedding pills reverse engineered and hands him a piece of paper. The percentages of the 5 ingredients only add up to 90% rather than 100%. (01:29:25)
Character mistake: In the exchange at the train station in district 2, Katniss says how she killed Cato in the 74th games, and Cato killed Thresh and Thresh killed Clove etc However Cato didn't kill Thresh - he was attacked by the mutts and killed by them. (00:14:50)
Character mistake: After Cal goes to the secret lab in Georgia, he and two others go into his new lab. When they enter a cat jumps up on the counter. Dr. Adams says "This is Neutron. We named him that because he's so positive." Neutrons are neutral and electrons are negative. It's protons that are positive. They should have named the cat Proton.
Character mistake: Early in the film in the scene in which Precious is in math class just before being called to talk to the principal, on the blackboard someone, presumably the teacher, has written REQUIRMENT, which is a misspelling of "requirement"
Character mistake: When we first see Sophie her body was slumped over (the spell to make her old) but later on in the movie, her back magically seems fine. (00:00:01 - 01:50:00)
Character mistake: When George throws one of the soldiers through the cockpit door of the plane, you get a brief glimpse at the pilot and co-pilot, both of which are wearing a Bose headphone/mic set. However the co-pilot has his one backwards, with the mic bent from the right side when it's meant to be on the left. (00:44:50)
Character mistake: At the ravine, upon learning that the bridge doesn't exist yet, Marty states to Doc "We can't wait a year and a half for this to be built". If you carefully look at the sign, it says the bridge is opening Summer 1886. That's under a year away, not a year and a half from Sept. 1885.
Character mistake: Namibia was said to be in West Africa. Namibia is in Southern Africa.
Character mistake: David Dastmalchian is the Polka-Dot Man, hyphenated in the comics, and in the end credits of the movie. Then again, when Waller threatens to kill everyone off, the name of the character appears in print as Polka Dot Man, no hyphen. (01:49:40)
Character mistake: Mike, despite being an experienced logger, is filing his chainsaw blade in the wrong direction. Also, he's seen filing the teeth of the blade way too many times.
Character mistake: Sam says that Archibald Witwicky explored the Arctic Circle in 1897. But when Frenzy finds the article, it is dated 1895.
Character mistake: In his opening prologue, Burt says the Graboids have been contained to the Northern Hemisphere, showing a map highlighting the Graboid attacks of the first film in Nevada and the second film in Mexico. However, it overlooks the Graboid/Shrieker attack in Argentina, in the Southern hemisphere, shown at the beginning of Tremors 3, an incursion Burt personally put down. It's not like it was classified - characters in that movie talk about it being reported by CNN, and characters in the Tremors TV series talk about it as well. And it's not like Tremors 3 is no longer canon, since Burt makes two references to being swallowed by the Graboid in that movie (which also becomes a plot point in Tremors 6).
Character mistake: When the little girl is about to be blown away by the tornado she is crying terrified, but when she is swallowed by the tornado, spinning around violently, she stays totally calm, even bored. (Laserdisc and international extended editions).
Character mistake: When Adams is chewing out Altaira for flirting with his crew, he says that he is "in command of 18 perfect physical specimens." With him, that would make for a total crew of 19 on the C57-D. But the complete cast only shows 18 names, including Walter Pidgeon as Morbius and Anne Francis as Alta. (And discounting Robby and his human handlers). Thus it would seem Adams is off by three. He has only 15 under his command. I've tried counting them when they're in group shots, but can't see everyone.
Character mistake: When Harrigan is watching the surveillance video by Bill Paxton he states that the helicopter is a silver Alouette when it is actually an AS-350.
Character mistake: When Herr Falkstein introduces himself to Frederick he tells him he has come 5,000 miles to bring him his great-grandfather's will. The ancestor in question was supposed to be his grandfather, not great-grandfather. (00:11:53)
Suggested correction: Victor is Fredrick's grandfather, but not the one who died. Baron Beaufort von Frankenstein died, leaving the estate to Fredrick. Beaufort is his great grandfather.
Character mistake: At the start Smith takes a Krestal ballistic computer and barely holds it out to get wind speed. The proper technique is to hold it at arm's length into the wind.
Character mistake: When Sheriff Flemings arrives at the gas station murder scene, Deputy Baldridge is already there taking photographs. The pair exchange a few words and Baldridge says he can't find the victims body. The pair then look up to see three of the flying monkeys noisily eating Mr Sites corpse on the roof of the gas station. Apparently Baldridge didn't notice this the whole time he was there. (01:03:19)
