Deliberate mistake: It's a humorous twist that Randy's killing is covered up by some random guys passing by with a ghetto blaster, but there was dead silence when Randy was talking earlier; not being in frame does not block soundwaves. (01:05:15)
Deliberate mistake: Some clothes were interchangeable from one character to another (or within a character over time), despite their obvious differences in sizes/body frames. Hazel, as a much heavier senior citizen, was still able to wear her "lucky" carnation pink coat that fit her 58 years earlier when she was a skinny young lady. Hazel was also able to switch coats with Margot, who had a much thinner body. The coat on Margot even looked form-fitting afterwards. Kip's tuxedo did not look too large on Griffin. Deliberate mistake: When we look toward the bar, Mrs. Robinson's calf is well below the edge of the bar. In the next classic shot of Benjamin filmed from behind the bar through Mrs. Robinson's bent leg, her calf is above the bar. (00:12:30)
Deliberate mistake: When Seth Green and Lance pull up to Ian and Felicia, the car being pulled by the carriage should roll a little bit after the carriage stops moving, but instead it stops on a dime when it is only being pulled by rope, and nothing else to stop it with when the carriage stops. Deliberate mistake: During the scene where Richard is playing croquet on the lawn in front of the Delta Iota Kappa house, the letters of the fraternity are visible on the front of the house. The Greek letter for "Delta" should be a triangle yet it is the letter "D" in the shot. This is presumably to follow the "DIK" joke that would not be as obvious if written in correct Greek letters.
Deliberate mistake: In the very first shot of Korben Dallas, his bedside clock is facing away from him, towards us. We can read it, but he shouldn't be able to because he'd be looking at it backwards.
Deliberate mistake: There was a black wrought iron fence behind Whitney but with enough space for JD to drive between them. After JD parked, Whitney (and her friend) were much closer to the fence, but they were also at the rear of JD's parked SUV, which would not be spatially possible. When JD, Jane, and Ally got out of the SUV, they walked right in front of Whitney, who was now much closer, and the fence was no longer behind Whitney. (00:27:50 - 00:28:14)
Deliberate mistake: When Howard is being sucked out of his planet by the laser beam the couch ignites but he doesn't.
Deliberate mistake: Before Blanche's birthday dinner, she comes out of the bathroom with her wet hair up in a towel and asks Stella for another towel saying she's just washed it. Moments later she emerges from the bathroom with completely dry and styled hair that would have taken hours to do during that time period.
Deliberate mistake: When the police blitzes the "traditional English breakfast" joint, in the background the menu display advertises "Omlettes", and in the close-up on the owner you can read the word "Mashrooms." It's surely deliberate to show how the joint is not exactly ran by purebreed English people - although it should be noticed that there is an inconsistency with previous scenes when the board was different, and even the word "Mushrooms", handwritten, was spelt correctly. Deliberate mistake: When Humbert shouts Quilty's name when he is in his mansion, a bottle can be seen rolling off a chair covered in a sheet in the background. It is then revealed that Quilty was sitting on the chair, with the sheet covered over him, and the bottle was placed on top of his head, over the sheet. It is also shown that him waking up was what caused the bottle to roll off the chair. The bottle's position on the chair before Quilty awoke could not have been possible. Even if Quilty was able to place the sheet over him before passing out, he could not have been able to place the bottle over his head and he could not have been able to balance the bottle over his head whilst he was asleep unless he remained completely still all throughout his sleep. This was likely done deliberately as a way of letting Humbert and the audience know where Quilty was, but still make little sense in the context of the movie. (00:03:25)
Deliberate mistake: Near the end of the movie, in the Yankee Stadium scene, Adam Sandler sneaks onto the field. He then assaults a police officer and announcer who try to stop him. Rudolph Giuliani condones, even encourages Sandler's behavior. Giuliani acted entirely out of character, as he has an extensive history of being staunchly anti-petty crime and pro-police officer. Deliberate mistake: During Alejandro and Elena's duel, he slashes her skirt and reveals her bare leg. When he slashes off her whole gown, she's somehow wearing leggings. Obviously so Catherine Zeta-Jones would not be naked. (01:38:13 - 01:39:20)
Deliberate mistake: When Matt is spying through the telescope on Casey's argument with her parents, you can hear Casey yelling "No no no" and hear her bedroom door slam, etc. This is all from Matt's point of view from the telescope - it would have been impossible for him to hear any of that, being such a far distance all the way across the lake.
Deliberate mistake: In the ambulance scenes, John Goodman is given oxygen via a nasal tube, probably so he could tell his story. In real life, a mask covering the nose and mouth would be used for maximum effectiveness in such a critical situation.
Deliberate mistake: "Mama's Home Cooking" - a wood frame building in 1850 - was on fire in multiple spots (though not yet engulfed). The townsfolk lined up to pass a bucket of water to douse the flames, which would be futile given how involved the fires were, but they were able to extinguish the fires and the wood frame building was largely intact and the boards did not look charred. The building should have been smoldering hot for some time, but Angel was able to sift through the rubble to salvage some items. (01:45:58 - 01:46:56)
Deliberate mistake: For dramatic and cinematic purposes, the floor of the court where the last scene takes place is wet, as opposed to the circle where Tony dies.
Deliberate mistake: When the blue car backs up and pushes Tom and Sarah's compact over the cliff, in the close-up the woman is seen, but in the next shot it is very obviously not that woman driving away. (00:47:50)
Deliberate mistake: When young Odette is sliding down the banister, and gets stuck spinning around the end of it, it would be impossible to spin like that without her legs hitting the rail that she just slid down.
