Revealing mistake: As a very young Otis Williams listens to The Cadillacs on stage in Detroit, the joint is rockin' with the music, but most of The Cadillacs have no microphones.
Revealing mistake: In the jazz club, the saxophone player's finger movements don't match what he is playing.
Revealing mistake: Anytime the camera is on Richard Dreyfuss' hands while he's playing the piano, it is clear that he is not actually playing; his hands are frequently in the wrong part of the keyboard for the sound being produced. At other times, when his hands are moving down the keyboard, the pitch we hear is going up, or vice-versa.
Revealing mistake: At the end of the movie after Necros falls from the plane the camera cuts back to Bond, as he tries to struggle his way out of the nest. If you look closely under the nest you can see Necros at the start of his fall again. Also notice Necros is replaced by a dummy.
Revealing mistake: At the end of the movie when the Grandpa and grandson are tackled after being given the 'fortune cookies' right at the moment of impact the little boy has been replaced by a stunt double which is a grown man dressed in the same clothes. Like the dude has wrinkles and doesn't even resemble the boy at all.
Revealing mistake: As Lulu is pulling her fishing pole out of the school steps, you see if you watch closely that the pole actually passes through the concrete of the steps rather than her lifting it over. (00:02:00)
Revealing mistake: Marie and Nutcracker go down the river in a swan shaped boat, and Nutcracker is standing up on the back moving the boat along with large pole. In the water, you can see the reflection of the boat and Marie the way they are supposed to be. But the reflection of Nutcracker is not moving, and the pole is not reflected.
Revealing mistake: When Fish goes flying off the van, the mat on which he lands is visible. (In subsequent shots, it is gone.). (00:06:55)
Revealing mistake: Right before the scene where Freddie meets with the band to try and make amends, he's arguing with that one man in the rain. After he walks away and it's raining only on him and on the pavement. If you look to the right there is no rain coming down on the grass or trees or anything else.
Revealing mistake: When Louis is trying to get Lester to apologize to Cleo after hitting her, lots of extras on the sidewalk and across the street can be seen watching the whole scene being shot.
Revealing mistake: When Majestic is discussing killing the police to Marcus, the shot of the Uptown station house has the same figure ascending its steps in both shots, revealing that one shot was used twice instead of actually using two separate shots of the same location.
Revealing mistake: When the chipmunks are singing 'How we roll' there is a shot of Ian with some people in a private room. The music continues to play as they listen and the stage is reflected in the glass, how ever the chipmunks, back up singers, dancers, instrument players and audience are missing. (01:17:40)
Revealing mistake: When Ariel is playing chicken with the oncoming truck, as she is standing on both cars, notice that her hair is dark brown to black in colour, then it's blonde again. The hair colour changes a few times. It's obviously a stunt woman.
Revealing mistake: A jump cut is visible when Frankie Sharp starts receiving the show in his limo. Notice how his feet shift slightly when the image changes.
Revealing mistake: Early in the film, when Rockbottom is driving the van round the roundabout several times, it is an aerial shot filmed from a helicopter, as the helicopter's skids are in the shot.
Revealing mistake: When DJ gets arrested, handcuffed and put in a police car, it's shown that he's actually holding his own cuffs.
Revealing mistake: In the opening scene the Club's dancers are in full-swing, including the tall, lanky gentleman from Lautrec's famous Moulin Rouge poster, the one with the very angular, extended nose and chin. In several closeups it's very plain that the chin is a makeup appliance: the edge of the appliance isn't blended very well with the actor's real skin.
Revealing mistake: The palm trees next to the building Arthur came out were not real trees. One is flush against the front wall of the building and another is in a nearby corner. The palm tree in front looked completely flat - like a large piece of cardboard or maybe painted on the wall. Palm trees should be at least 30' away from a structure as well as outdoor pipes, buried lines, etc. They grow a big central root below the trunk and MANY thin roots running horizontal close to the surface - some may be exposed.
