Question: Why are the prisoners not allowed to talk to each other in Guantanamo bay? Is it to keep them from planning escapes?

Answer: The Guantanamo prisoners are all perceived terrorists, presumably working in coordination. It's essential that they not communicate with each other, so as to prevent them from leaking info about U.S. security.

Charles Austin Miller

I think it's also to prevent the prisoners from planning attacks on the guards.

How would they leak information about U.S. security? Most people in the Middle East have no knowledge about U.S. security.

Because people are occasionally released, and whether terrorists or not, may have information others would find valuable - about what goes on in Guantanamo Bay, if nothing else.

Jon Sandys

Answer: I guess it is more likely to be for the isolation feeling of not talking to anyone. It is like deprivation sleeping, some kind of psychological thing.

Question: Why doesn't Kay kill Anderson after he grabs her and takes the elevator up to Ma-Ma? Or at least, why doesn't Ma-Ma kill her when Kay comes in with her? They were intent on killing the Judges and didn't care about the consequences. So what was Ma-Ma hoping to accomplish having her as a hostage that she couldn't try to accomplish without one? At this point, she already had the 4 crooked Judges on their way.

Bishop73

Answer: Kay wanted to punish her for what she did to him earlier. Ma-Ma wanted leverage against Dredd should he get past her Judges.

MasterOfAll

Answer: Most likely Roddy and Rita freed them after defeating Toad and Le Frog.

Question: I'm just curious, if Blackheart wanted that contract so bad and didn't want to wait too long for it, then why did he want that hidden water guy to slow Johnny down or kill him? Did he just want an excuse to kill Roxanne or what? Please explain, thank you.

Answer: The Ghost Rider only appears at night and as Carter Slade told Johnny to "stick to the shadows" because during the daytime, Johnny stays human. By having Wallow slowing him down, he's guaranteeing that by the time Johnny finally reaches him, the sun will eventually rise and then Black Heart can kill him.

Question: At the party Randy receives a phone call saying the Principal has been killed, and everyone leaves to go see his body. Who would have called Randy to say this? Most of his friends are at the party, and even if some of them aren't, no one is hanging around school at 7pm, and the cops definitely didn't call him, so who did?

Answer: This has already been asked. Copying the answer from the previous submission: Billy came to the party late, presumably because he was hanging the body. The school seems pretty deserted when the principal gets killed (he goes into the corridor and only the cleaner is there, presumably cleaning after school is out) so it's reasonable to assume no one would have missed him yet.

Answer: Well first, you said "most of his friends " so some of Randy's friends definitely aren't at the party. Also, news travels fast in a small town, especially things that are serious like murders/accidents/etc. In addition, given the subtle implication that the principal was attacked and strung up on display on purpose to make the kids leave the party to go check it out (thinning the heard so to speak), it's entirely possible one of the killers might have tipped someone off about the body so it'd be found, or that it was left wide out in the open where a student or groundskeeper or someone driving by might have seen it. Either way, it's a very plausible scene.

TedStixon

Answer: Roman Bridger, director. And brother. Well, half brother.

Alan Keddie

Answer: Maybe "the killer"?

Answer: Late one night, Geoffrey used a covert listening device to overhear David explaining his barricade device to Janet which is how he figured it out.

How do we know Geoffrey really did use a covert listening device? They didn't mention him using one.

There was a scene of him using it when David told Janet about his barricade.

Answer: There was a scene of him going to his room and as soon as David and Janet went into David's room, Geoffrey took the listening device out of hiding and pointed it at David's door enabling him to hear everything.

Brian's Got a Brand New Bag - S8-E4

Question: In this episode, Brian goes to the bar, when he's supposed to be picking up Rita's medicine. When he's there, he meets an attractive girl, who refers him to her friend. Before that, the attractive girl says texting lingo which is too fast for me to understand. What is the translation?

Answer: You may be getting episodes mixed up. In the bar, Brian meets a girl and tries to explain what a book is by saying, 'it's the internet made out of tree.' Then they go have sex in the bathroom.

Question: I have an oddly specific question. I am writing a fan fiction of the Phantom of the Opera, and only using the movie as source material. Does the movie ever state that the Phantom's name is Erik, or is that just from the book?

Answer: They don't state his name in the movie.

Answer: Mitch is upset that his dad doesn't seem to support his getting married. When they talk about Jay's friends not coming to the wedding, Jay makes it seem like Mitch wouldn't want them to come anyways. Mitch sees it as it's actually that Jay doesn't want to invite his friends to his gay son's wedding because he's embarrassed and uncomfortable about having a gay son. Essentially Mitch sees it as if he was marrying a woman, Jay would be willing so spend money on the wedding, host it at the club, and invite all his friends to it.

Bishop73

Answer: He's talking about Norman Osborn. Dr. Connors is working on a cure for Norman and he has to hurry because Norman doesn't have a lot of time left. Dr. Connors even says "People die, even Norman Osborn." Freddie was just a lab mouse.

Question: When Robin Hood jumps into the water near the end of the movie, how did he survive the guards shooting arrows at him? Going underwater doesn't protect you from getting hit by arrows. Arrows can go deeper underwater than bullets can since they have more mass, even though they don't go as fast.

Answer: An arrow may have more mass, but it is also far less dense. Both the shaft and the fletchings will float. As well, these are not full powered English longbows, but shortbows, designed to be used at close range and without the same penetrating power. You can see many videos on Youtube about how arrows will not go deep.

Greg Dwyer

Answer: He lost a bet.

Answer: Ultron is doing what he was programmed to do: produce peace on Earth. Strucker opposed that, so Ultron killed him once gaining information about Hydra's base in Sokovia.

Answer: To get the twins on his side.

Question: When Stark and the men protecting the soldiers are attacked by terrorists, the terrorists fire a weapon that fires a lot of rounds, that go through the a jacket, the soldier's body, and the car's door. Does such a weapon exist in real life? Is so, what is it called?

Answer: It's called an anti-personnel device (or anti-personnel explosive) that showers a target area with shrapnel distributed every 2 inches. It's intended to kill every person within its blast radius. The curious thing is that Tony Stark was untouched in the first anti-personnel attack, even though his bodyguards and the HumVee were perforated.

Charles Austin Miller

Answer: It could be a manual triggered claymore, small ones are able to penetrate light armor up to 50meters (55yards).

Answer: Later in the scene, Stark realises the terrorists are using Stark Industries weapons. In the Marvel Universe, as is evidenced by the various Iron Man armors/weapons, Stark Industries makes some pretty awesome weaponry.

Answer: It could be armor piercing ammunition, which would go through certain materials, but it's more likely that it was just done for dramatic effect with a few liberties taken on what real world weapons are capable of.

Question: Rango's tall tale involves him killing all 7 Jenkins brothers with 1 bullet. Such an act doesn't seem possible. Rango also doesn't sound like he's telling the truth either, so why do the townspeople believe him?

Answer: The townspeople don't seem to be very smart as well as gullible.

Question: Alice has a vision while Renesmee is hugging Bella and Edward and Jacob is watching. In Alice's vision, is the girl Jacob is with Renesmee all grown up? Are her and Jacob a thing since Jacob imprinted on her?

Answer: That is the grown-up Renesmee who Alice sees, but the vision is rather vague. As has been pointed out by the Cullens, Alice's visions are subjective. If the people she sees in them change direction or make different decisions, then the visions become different. It is implied that Jacob and Renesmee will become a romantic couple after she matures. Even if they don't, because Jacob has imprinted on her, he will always be her protector.

Grandma's Kisses / Squidville - S2-E9

Question: I have two questions about "Squidville." 1. When SpongeBob and Patrick are sucking in Squidward's windows and door on his house with their leaf blowers, how are they sucking in the holes in his house? 2. How did SpongeBob and Patrick know Squidward's new 304 house number at Squidville?

Answer: The holes part is just a joke and meant to show SpongeBob doing the absurdly impossible (which is not uncommon for the show). As far as knowing his new house number; first SpongeBob calls Squidward, but there's nothing to indicate he needs to know the house number to do so. Squidward's number might not have changed or he updated his number at work. Then when SpongeBob and Patrick go to visit Squidward, they see him running in the street and don't have to know the house number. But, they could have gotten the new house number if Squidward updated his address at work, or SpongeBob is doing the absurdly impossible again.

Show generally

Question: One of the episodes had a ventriloquist with his dummy and I believe it was Dan that threw the dummy out the window. I can't seem to find the season and episode number. Any help?

Shotsky

Answer: S04e01, "The Next Voice You Hear", has a courtroom full of ventriloquist and dummies, which may be what you're thinking about. In it, one of the ventriloquist's dummy "commits suicide" by falling out the window of Harry's office. The ventriloquist is crushed by the dummy's "death" and Dan offers to "help." So the ventriloquist leaves the dummy, which was covered in a sheet, and Dan looks and the dummy talks to Dan. It takes a few seconds for Dan to realise what just happened and he jumps up, screams, and runs off.

Children of the Gods (1) - S1-E1

Question: I thought that you could only travel one way through the gate, but in the pilot, the Bad Guys come through, kill the military guys, then go back though without dialing a new wormhole.

Answer: You can only travel that way. The wormhole closed after Apophis forces came through (as can be seen during various scenes). Probably they also brought a mobile version of a DHD got get back (this indeed can't be seen).

Christoph Galuschka

They have been various times where the stargate has been dialled without use of the DHD of the dialing computer.

Dan23

Answer: Loki was not able to remove Mjolnir. Thor summoned Mjolnir before he started to destroy the rainbow bridge. Thus Loki was free to move again.
