An Ounce of Prevention - S6-E13
Continuity mistake: At the ferris wheel, when the boy starts to climb down to help the man in the lower seat, in the closeup he steps on the two yellow, fluorescent tube light bulbs causing the bulbs to plummet and shatter on the ground below. The problem is that those two fluorescent bulbs did not even exist in the prior wide shots, that lamp socket space was empty.
Fair Fight - S6-E5
Visible crew/equipment: After the cave-in rescue, when Dixie, DeSoto and Gage are in the ER, Gage washes his face and as he comments that he wasn't cut out to be a mole, two tape marks are visible at his feet.
Visible crew/equipment: When Mr. Grady (self-defense instructor) is in the ER, being examined by Dr. Brackett, there is a visible T-mark on the floor behind Gage.
Visible crew/equipment: When squad 51 parks upon arrival at the gas station the array lighting is visible on the driver's door.
Captain Hook - S6-E8
Other mistake: While Roy, John, and Chet are talking about the party, and how emotional it all was, we hear Hookrader say, "Lopez," just as he walks into the kitchen where Marco Lopez is sitting, but the subtitles read, "Hello, guys."
Captain Hook - S6-E8
Other mistake: When Johnny and Roy rappel down the cliff to the downed police traffic helicopter, Johnny gets on the HT and says, "All right, Cap, this is HT 51..." but the subtitles actually read, "Hi, Cap, this is HE 51..." Then when they reach the chopper, Johnny says, "There it goes," and Roy says, "Okay, I'll take this side," but the subtitles reverse who says both lines. Subtitles from Universal Studios 2010 DVD.
Captain Hook - S6-E8
Visible crew/equipment: After Station 51 is dispatched to "aircraft down," just as the squad and engine roll up on the scene, the reflection of the camera crane can be seen on Engine 51's windshield.
Other mistake: After Engine 51 and Squad 51 are dispatched to "man trapped," while en route to the incident Engine 86 becomes available, so when the dispatcher cancels Engine 51 we hear Captain Stanley respond, "Engine 51," but the subtitles read that Johnny is the one who responds "Engine 51," which is pretty silly since John and Roy are in Squad 51. Subtitles from Universal Studios 2010 DVD.
Continuity mistake: While Roy and Johnny are studying, after hearing Roy's positive horoscope Johnny tells Chet his birthday is August 28th. However, in the pilot episode "The Wedsworth-Townsend Act," Dixie has a get-together as a combination celebration of John's birthday and gathering of the supporters of the paramedic program. At the party Dixie offers the hors d'oeuvres to Johnny saying, "You first, it's your birthday," as he takes a mouthful of food. During that week we see people wearing coats, and the many deciduous trees (not the evergreens and palms) in LA County have already lost their leaves, which means it's certainly not summertime, August 28th.
Paper Work - S6-E11
Visible crew/equipment: At the warehouse, when the foreman yells at Ed for stacking the flammable nitromethane steel drums unsafely, the outline of the mic transmitter is visible on the front left side of Ed's T-shirt.
Revealing mistake: At the studio, in the overhead shot just as the squad is about to reach the building where Johnny will be testing Wally's equipment, the 'Black Tower', which houses Universal's executive offices, is visible in the background, and then in the roof shots when each of the guys repels down individually, the Sheraton-Universal is visible in the background.
Other mistake: Over the phone the bookie tells Sidney, "I'm having them pains again. I don't feel so good. Would you call some...," then collapses onto the floor. Then Station 51 is dispatched to "Possible heart attack," and the address is given, along with the apartment number 23. After 51 breaks into the bookie's apartment, soon one of the phones ring and Captain Stanley says, "Let me get this straight. Your name's Sidney, and you phoned in the heart attack, right? Now we're getting somewhere. How come you didn't have the address? What's your last name Sidney?" However, 51 was dispatched to the proper address and even the apartment number. Nobody else knew of the heart attack, and the victim did not phone it in.
Loose Ends - S6-E12
Other mistake: While Brackett is a patient at Rampart, he phones to inquire about Tina, and when he rips off his hospital ID bracelet we can see the wood grain bathroom door as he heads for Tina's room. When he's in Tina's room, the wood grain bathroom door in her room is identical to the door in Brackett's room, revealing the same room is used for both patients.
Visible crew/equipment: When Station 51 is being dispatched to 'man down' at the hotel, in the overhead shot of the apparatus bay as the guys are getting into the rigs, the reflection of moving production equipment can be seen on Engine 51's windshield.
Other mistake: When the woman from the car accident is in the ER, Morton uses the laryngoscope to intubate her, and hooks her up to the respirator, but then she goes into V-fib, and when the defibrillation and epinephrin are unsuccessful and she flatlines, even if the respirator hose came loose she would still have the intubation tube in her mouth, but she doesn't.
Continuity mistake: During 51's basketball game against 16's, the sweat stains on the guys' clothing keep changing between shots.
Paper Work - S6-E11
Other mistake: After 51 rescues the boy who was stuck in the storm drain and is brought to the ER, Brackett uses the laryngoscope for endotracheal intubation, but the problem is we can see when Brackett cups his left hand, he merely places the distal end of the laryngoscope over the top of his hand, not actually down into the boy's mouth.
Paper Work - S6-E11
Other mistake: When the foreman and secretary are rescued at the warehouse fire, two shots after we see the foreman climbing down the ladder, there's a shot of the grey steel drums marked 'acetone' with two lying on their sides on a wood pallet, while the guys hose down the fire. What's funny is that in the next shot there's a disposable plastic cup that has suddenly appeared on that pallet. Obviously while shooting the different takes one of the actors or crew members left their cup on the pallet before they resumed filming.
Visible crew/equipment: After rescuing the injured worker from the top of the sky-tower at Oceanland Park, when Mike has a problem starting 51's engine, we see reflections of array lighting on the squad's surface. And when Captain Stanley moans that he'll have to call Charlie, he stands in front of the engine and calls out, "Why me?" and one of the location's array lighting units is visible at the left side.
An Ounce of Prevention - S6-E13
Continuity mistake: When Roy and Johnny are rehearsing in front of Captain Stanley and the other guys, after Johnny uses the bug spray on the flame, in the wide shots Roy's hands are in his pockets and the hairspray can is on the table, but in the closeups Roy's still holding the hairspray can.
Answer: I believe you are speaking of the old man, Mr. Wilson. He's played by J. Pat O'Malley.
Bishop73
Correct, it was J. Pat O'Malley...he also played the grandfather with his grandson when their rocket exploded, and also played "Old Bill" in the episode with Ann Prentiss, where Gage saves the little girl from the burning tree house, and her mother falls in love with him.
