Continuity mistake: When Cyclops is running through the mine to search for Wolverine and Gambit, he uses his visor to track their location. When the shot changes to a first person view through Cyclops' visor, the background is merely moving up and down. If he was running as the previous shot had shown, the objects in the background from his point of view would become larger as he got closer to them. (00:16:50)

The Final Decision - S1-E13

Continuity mistake: Magneto reveals to Senator Kelly that he went to Washington, DC to personally witness his assassination. The flashback to the previous episode reveals that Magneto was watching Mystique (masquerading as Gambit) attempt to assassinate Kelly and the real Gambit's intervention through a window. Magneto can be seen as plain as day watching in the window in the flashback, yet in the actual episode, Magneto is never there. The design of the window is also different, as well as the color of the curtains. The room itself also appears to be smaller in the flashback.

'Til Death Do Us Part: Part 1 - S2-E1

Continuity mistake: When the Friends of Humanity are attacking the mutant, the amount of spacing between the letters on the sign that says "Burgers" decreases when the shot changes. There is also a man painting a red "M" on the door below the sign with his left hand while holding a paint bucket in his right hand, and he only paints half the letter before the shot changes. When the shot does change, the "M" is fully formed, and the brush and bucket have swapped hands. (00:08:28)

'Til Death Do Us Part: Part 1 - S2-E1

Continuity mistake: When Storm is talking to and walking towards Jubilee in the War Room, the TV that everyone was watching is suddenly off, and seems to have disappeared altogether, as no screen is visible. When the shot changes, the TV is back on, and the screen appears to be shorter and wider than first shown. When Xavier is leaving the room, the TV is off again, and the screen like before seems to have vanished. (00:09:16 - 00:10:02)

Answer: It appears a number of factors led to its demise. It was originally intended to air for 65 episodes, but its popularity extended that. However, there were continual production quality problems, issues regarding whether the content was suitable enough for children, as well as financial considerations that finally led to it being ended.
