The Wild Wild West

The Night of the Eccentrics - S2-E1

Revealing mistake: Tony throws two knives at West - but on the wall where the knives hit, the rectangular openings from which the blades actually emerge are delineated beforehand. Happens again a few scenes later, where slots cut in the door are already there before the knives are thrown. [Spoiler: It's inconsequential to the "revealing" error, but if you play the scene in slow motion, you can see that both times, the knives pop through from the back of the "wall." This is also how the carnival trick is performed.] (00:17:05)

The Night of the Eccentrics - S2-E1

Revealing mistake: Two scenes after the opening credits, West fights the strongman Titan. When Titan throws West (who is horizontally positioned on Titan's shoulders) down to the ground through the circus tent, a mattress upon which West lands is mistakenly exposed.

The Night of the Flying Pie Plate - S2-E6

Revealing mistake: When the townspeople spill out onto the town's streets after hearing the noise from the sky, the horses tied at the hitching posts never move nor flinch through the entire scene and are all in the same pose, indicating the horses are props and not real.

The Night of the Ready-Made Corpse - S2-E11

Revealing mistake: The town of Wickenberg has very peculiar sunlight: it casts shadows in several directions at once. Also notable is the far end of its main street, where a distinct line of demarcation reveals the presence of a painted studio backdrop. (00:00:10)

The Night of the Infernal Machine - S2-E14

Revealing mistake: Right after Zeno Baroda says, "M'Guigan, I'm going to kill you," he shoots at the door. Before the bullet is discharged, one can see the door is already damaged where the door is about to be shot. Also, one can see the streak (moving from the left to right) of the prop used to cause more damage on the door from the bullet's impact. (00:27:30)

The Night of the Bubbling Death - S3-E1

Revealing mistake: As West drags the body of a bad guy out of the scene, the supposedly unconscious man is holding his head up so as not to have his head dragged through the dirt. A truly unconscious person's head would flop back on to the ground.

Trivia: Due to the rigorous stunts he performed, actor Robert Conrad would often rip out the seat of his already too tight pants.
