The Wild Wild West

Show generally

Continuity mistake: "Night of the Bubbling Death": The dust left on West's jacket after the fight changes patterns several times, then disappears altogether when he enters the building. A shot of his feet shows us that his formerly dusty boots also polished themselves. (00:04:00)

Continuity mistake: "Night of the Arrow": President Grant's cigar keeps getting longer, shorter, and longer again as he gives West and Gordon their special assignment aboard the train. (00:08:10)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: "Night of the Bubbling Death": When Grigsby first approaches the stolen U.S. Constitution, it's under glass (we can see the light reflections). But seconds later he lifts the paper without removing the glass, which has disappeared. It's back later, when West must cut it to retrieve the document. (00:09:10 - 00:36:30)

Continuity mistake: "Night of the Arrow": When Artemus pours the president a drink, the glass is only 1/4 full. When Grant picks it up, however, it's suddenly 3/4 full. (00:09:15)

Continuity mistake: "Night of the Bubbling Death": Artemus tosses just one bottle grenade at the pursuing posse of bad guys. In the next shot, however, multiple explosions go off all at the same time in a straight line across the road. (00:14:00)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: "Night of the Bubbling Death": West uses a glass cutter to retrieve the US Constitution, which was lying flat under a covering sheet of glass. But when he reaches in and pulls the document free, it is no longer flat, but is rolled up. (00:36:15)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: "Night of the Arrow": West and Gordon leave two champagne bottles and four glasses sitting on the table when they walk away to answer the door. When they return, the bottles and glasses have all completely changed positions by themselves. (00:41:30)

The Night of the Deadly Bed - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: After the opening credits, West is riding on an open field of short grass to meet his personal train - both train and West stop. West's close-up shot shows a large tree directly behind him - this is impossible for there were no trees close to him in the previous shot.

The Night of the Deadly Bed - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: The first transformed freeze frame for this episode appears on the upper right side which is different from the pilot's lower left side. Also, this episode's freeze frame image appears looking like a grainy photo when compared to the pilot's pencil sketch-like image.

The Night of Sudden Death - S1-E4

Continuity mistake: In the scene after the first freeze frame, Corinne is affixed on a round arrow target. Corinne's body keeps changing positions even though the target has stopped spinning. First long shot, she is horizontal with her head at #3. The close-up has her almost vertical with her head at #1. Next close-up, her head is at #2. Following long shot, she is horizontal (head at #3). This keeps occurring throughout this scene.

The Night of the Glowing Corpse - S1-E7

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the episode when West walks into the mansion where the meeting is behind held, just as he enters, Lt. Armand Renard can be seen talking to Artemus at the bottom of the staircase, but Renard died earlier in the episode. They obviously filmed this scene at the same time as the first scene, but missed that continuity error in the editing. (00:46:40)

The Night That Terror Stalked the Town - S1-E10

Continuity mistake: Three fourths into this episode, West is in a room with an hourglass. The hourglass shows a few grains of sand before it empties. Next shot is of Gordon trying to get through the chained gates. Camera shot back to West's room, which shows a fuller hourglass with more sand, which lasts for minutes as this episode continues, until all the sand empties from the top.

The Night of the Bubbling Death - S3-E1

Revealing mistake: As West drags the body of a bad guy out of the scene, the supposedly unconscious man is holding his head up so as not to have his head dragged through the dirt. A truly unconscious person's head would flop back on to the ground.

Trivia: Due to the rigorous stunts he performed, actor Robert Conrad would often rip out the seat of his already too tight pants.
