The Joker's Last Laugh (1) - S2-E47
Revealing mistake: The counterfeit 100 dollar bills that Gordon and O'Hara say look "so authentic" don't actually resemble any known U.S. currency at all. In fact, a close look reveals them to be very bad photocopies of Mexican 100 peso notes. (00:01:00)
Catwoman Goes to College (1) - S2-E49
Revealing mistake: The crowd scenes during what is supposedly a Gotham City University student protest rally are inserts of rather blurry old stock footage. Not only is the mob far too large for a mere college rally, the footage is in black & white, while the rest of Batman is in color. Bit of a dead giveaway. (00:23:00)
Catwoman Goes to College (1) - S2-E49
Continuity mistake: When they first go to the bat poles, Bruce is on the right. The next shot at the bottom, Bruce/Batman is on the left and Dick/Robin is on the left. They switched sides. It has happened throughout the series.
Batman Displays His Knowledge (2) - S2-E50
Continuity mistake: When Batman and Robin are trying to escape from the giant coffee cup at the beginning of this episode, spots of moisture keep appearing and disappearing on Batman's costume.
Batman's Satisfaction (2) - S2-E52
Continuity mistake: Britt Reid visits Bruce Wayne, and while sitting on the couch, stretches forward and places both hands on his knees. But in the next take, he's abruptly leaning back with his arms folded. (00:09:30)
Batman's Satisfaction (2) - S2-E52
Continuity mistake: After Britt Reid tells Bruce he wouldn't be caught dead in Batman's crazy cowl, when it cuts to the Batcave both Robin and Batman use the Bat-computer to decipher the message in the alphabet noodle soup. The Yellow Pages phone book is on the computer's shelf beside Robin, and in his closeups the phone book's spine faces toward the right, but in the wide shots the phone book faces the opposite way. (00:10:30)
Batman's Satisfaction (2) - S2-E52
Continuity mistake: While the Batcomputer starts acting wonky just as Batman and Robin need it to figure out Pinky's location, when Alfred joins Batman and Robin in the Batcave, the Yellow Pages phone book vanishes from the Batcomputer's shelf in the closeup. (00:12:20)
Caught in the Spider's Den (2) - S2-E56
Visible crew/equipment: In Commissioner Gordon's office, when Gordon and Chief O'Harah walk over to the Batphone so they can talk to Robin and get him to surrender, we can see the actor's white tape mark taped to the rug, just as Gordon removes the clear acrylic dome from the Batphone. (00:17:20)
Caught in the Spider's Den (2) - S2-E56
Audio problem: The sound effects are inaudible when Robin is punching Black Widow's henchman when she talks about where her short-circuiting device is.
Caught in the Spider's Den (2) - S2-E56
Visible crew/equipment: When Batman and Robin are caught in Black Widow's web, the wires used to operate the spiders are visible.

Pop Goes the Joker (1) - S2-E57
Continuity mistake: After Oliver Muzzy congratulates Joker for his magnificent artwork and makes a deal with him, before Joker leaves the gallery he runs his finger across Batman's yellow emblem to sign his red artwork, but at GCPD HQ when they're discussing the matter, Joker's signature is completely different, it's now a capital "J" on Batman's yellow emblem. (00:06:45)
Pop Goes the Joker (1) - S2-E57
Other mistake: Not only can Caesar Romero's moustache can be seen, but the line between the white makeup and his skin on his neck. Also, when Robin's face came out of the clay, his mask was almost around his mouth. A moment later, the mask is back in place. Later, his face, mask, and body is spotless.
Flop Goes the Joker (2) - S2-E58
Revealing mistake: At the "Batfight", the Joker leaves the room and he kidnaps Baby Jane but when it cuts back to the fight, if you look closely at the door, the Joker can be seen leaving the room again. Note his iconic pink suit.
Flop Goes the Joker (2) - S2-E58
Revealing mistake: After Bruce stops the governor of the mobile, it can be seen that the weights are painted Styrofoam balls.
Visible crew/equipment: After the first couple of shots of the Batcopter, when it cuts to Mr. Freeze at his refrigerated refuge, the two black tape marks are visible on the floor near Professor Isaacson's and Glacia's feet.
Enter Batgirl, Exit Penguin - S3-E1
Plot hole: When he abducts Alfred, believing him to be a minister, Penguin suffers a peculiar memory lapse. He's encountered Alfred twice before in previous episodes, even kidnapped him once before (knowing full well that he was Bruce Wayne's butler). Yet here, he fails to recognize Alfred at all. (00:12:30)
Enter Batgirl, Exit Penguin - S3-E1
Revealing mistake: The panel that Batgirl makes her entrance through can be plainly seen as a prop mounted on top of the set of stairs she comes down.
Ring Around the Riddler - S3-E2
Continuity mistake: When Batgirl finds Betsy with the huge magnet under the boxing ring Batgirl throws the rope around the lever, then as the rope pulls the lever down the rope slips off and falls, but in the next shot the rope is still up around the lever. (00:21:25)
Continuity mistake: Batgirl's outfit includes boots with kitten heels, but during the fight scenes the stuntwoman's boots have block heels. (00:19:45 - 00:21:25)
The Sport of Penguins (1) - S3-E4
Deliberate mistake: After the episode intro, in the first shot we see the words "The New York Public Library" above the entrance to the library, where Barbara Gordon works. However, it's stated in S3xE1 that she works at Gotham City Library, and even in this episode when Penguin listens to the news about the bomb, it's noted as the Gotham Library. (00:02:00)
Answer: It's wasn't unusual for multiple actors to play one character on this show. The villains on the TV Batman were played by guest stars, not regular cast members. George Sanders, Otto Preminger, and Eli Wallach played the part at various times. They may simply have only wanted to play the part once or twice, or they were later tied up with other projects, making it necessary to cast someone else. Other characters, like Catwoman, were also played by more than one actress.
