The Zodiac Crimes (1) - S2-E37
Revealing mistake: When Joker enters Commissioner Gordon's office at GCPD, he's pointing a wand at Gordon and Chief O'Hara. In the shot facing Joker when he lets go of the wand, the wires at both ends of the wand are visible. (00:01:15)
The Zodiac Crimes (1) - S2-E37
Continuity mistake: Joker's floating zap-wand is hanging in the air right in front of Chief O'Hara's face. But when the shot cuts, it's instantly ten feet away, and is now floating behind the Joker. (00:01:45)
The Zodiac Crimes (1) - S2-E37
Visible crew/equipment: After Joker has stolen the map from Commissioner Gordon's office, he rushes to the window and calls for Venus, then just as Joker places his foot onto the lowest ladder rung, we can see a crew member's hand holding the same rung near Joker's foot, at the bottom of the screen. (00:02:05)
The Zodiac Crimes (1) - S2-E37
Visible crew/equipment: Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson walk into the study alone when Bruce takes the Batphone call from Commissioner Gordon, then just as Bruce says, "The Joker again," at the top of the tuba bell we can see the reflection of a man wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and grey pants. Numerous studio lights are reflected as well. (00:03:15)
The Zodiac Crimes (1) - S2-E37
Continuity mistake: In Commissioner Gordon's office, after Batman uses his handy mini fire extinguisher to extinguish Joker's flaming 2-way spy device, when he walks over to Gordon's desk the mini fire extinguisher is in his left hand, but when it cuts to the closeup as he realises the significance of RAM, the fire extinguisher is suddenly in his raised right hand. (00:06:50)
The Zodiac Crimes (1) - S2-E37
Revealing mistake: After Joker's goons kidnap Crustash, the opera singer, Penguin tries to sneak off, and when Batman and Robin use javelins to capture Penguin, the glistening stunt wire attached to the javelin is visible in the wide shot. (00:18:15)
The Zodiac Crimes (1) - S2-E37
Continuity mistake: Robin is holding an upright 8-foot pole when Venus sprinkles her knock-out glitter on the Dynamic Duo. When the shot cuts and they fall to the floor, the pole has completely disappeared. (00:22:10)
The Joker's Hard Times (2) - S2-E38
Continuity mistake: At GCPD HQ, when Commissioner Gordon decides to call Batman he removes the Batphone's acrylic dome cover and lifts the red receiver, still holding it when Joker shows up. Then, when Joker announces his next target is Libra the scales, in the next shot from a different angle, the Batphone is now untouched under the acrylic dome, between shots. (00:02:55)
The Joker's Hard Times (2) - S2-E38
Continuity mistake: After Joker enters Commissioner Gordon's office, Gordon and Chief O'Hara walk over to the window, and the Batphone table is behind them, beside Gordon's desk. Then Joker makes two "quick-frozen cops" and runs off to snatch Justice, leaving Gordon and O'Hara immobile. When their shock paralysis wears off, Gordon and O'Hara rush over to Gordon's desk, but the Batphone table and the Batphone have vanished (note the rug's pattern). (00:03:00 - 00:04:55)
The Joker's Hard Times (2) - S2-E38
Revealing mistake: When Joker pays another visit to Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara, Joker's holding his wand, and in the shots from outside the GCPD office window we can see the wire cable dragging behind Joker, which is attached to the wand and providing its power. During these shots, the actors' small white tape markers are also visible on the rug, beside the Batphone table. (00:03:00)
The Joker's Hard Times (2) - S2-E38
Visible crew/equipment: After Joker and his henchmen steal the statue, it cuts to Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara as they recover from their shock paralysis, and when they walk over to Gordon's desk, the wheel of filming equipment is visible at the right side of the screen. (00:04:55)
The Joker's Hard Times (2) - S2-E38
Continuity mistake: The Batmobile pulls up in front of the Platter-Porium, and you can see that only Batman and Robin are inside the car. When the shot cuts to close-up, though, Venus is sitting in between them. (Tight squeeze: it's a 2-seater and she must be straddling the transmission hump and hand brake - ouch.) The shot cuts back to full for them to jump from the car, and Venus has disappeared again. (00:13:40)
Suggested correction: We do see Venus in all three shots. When the Batmobile pulls up in front of Platter-Porium, in the first wide shot we see blonde hair between Batman and Robin. Then after the closeup, in the second wide shot (same angle as the first) when Batman and Robin have exited the car, we see Venus turn and poke her head out of the Batmobile, on Robin's side of the car. Also, in the closeup when Batman opens the door, we see Venus is sharing the passenger seat with Robin, directly beside the transmission hump and hand brake, so no ouch for her. Venus does the same thing in the next episode, when she's brought to the Batcave.
The Joker's Hard Times (2) - S2-E38
Continuity mistake: When the Joker directs Gordon and O'Hara to look at the statue of Justice, they look at it from a front view. But when Joker comes out of the Police building where he left them frozen, it's from behind the statue, rather than in front.
The Penguin Declines (3) - S2-E39
Continuity mistake: When Joker's goons return from Operation Laundry Bag and finally release Penguin from the bag, Penguin's hat is secured on his head with an elastic strap, but this strap vanishes in the next shot. (00:04:30)
The Penguin Declines (3) - S2-E39
Visible crew/equipment: When Batman and Robin bring Venus to the Batcave, just as she says, "It's fabulous," the reflection of the moving boom pole/mic is visible on one of the Bat-computer screens, at the bottom right corner of the screen. As this shot continues, when Robin points out their Bat-radar, a chalk T-mark is visible on the floor near Batman's foot. Then, when Penguin, Joker, and the goons appear, more chalk T-marks are visible on their side of the floor. (00:17:10)
The Penguin Declines (3) - S2-E39
Factual error: Joker, Penguin and no less than four henchmen all manage to hide in the Batmobile's trunk and leap out when it enters the Batcave. Even for Batman, this is stretching credibility more than a bit. There's no way the Batmobile's trunk could hold six adults and still close (and it was closed). Two might fit, even three in a pinch - but not six. (00:17:30)
The Penguin Declines (3) - S2-E39
Visible crew/equipment: When Venus is at the Batcave, loads of fisticuffs ensue between the Caped Crusaders, Joker, Penguin and all the baddies. While Robin is up on the atomic pile scaffolding he punches one goon off the ladder, then as he falls we can see the edge of the brown crash mat rise up, right before the word "SPLATT!" appears onscreen. (00:20:50)
The Penguin Declines (3) - S2-E39
Revealing mistake: At the Batcave, when Penguin is up on the atomic pile scaffolding Batman grabs hold of him just as Pengy uses his umbrella to float down, and the stunt wire attached to the umbrella ferrule is visible while the duo descend together. (00:21:05)
That Darn Catwoman (1) - S2-E40
Visible crew/equipment: When Pat Pending tells his valet, Rudy, that all his money is safer hidden in his mattress, Catwoman and her cohorts break in, then knock out Pending and Rudy. As Catwoman walks toward the bed there are two chalk marks visible on the floor, one of them at her feet. (00:17:20)
That Darn Catwoman (1) - S2-E40
Continuity mistake: After the drugged Robin clobbers Batman with a wooden chair, the broken pieces change their arrangement on the floor between one shot and the next. (00:20:50)
