The Nuchslep - S1-E4

Other mistake: About 2/3 into the show, Fran carries a box of cookies into Maggie's bedroom. The box's name brand is covered over but Fran says she brought the Mallowmars. However when they show an actual cookie they are eating, you can see it's a Snackwell Devil's Food Cake cookie, not a Mallowmar.

Take Back Your Mink - S2-E12

Continuity mistake: When Fran and Sylvia are in Sylvia's kitchen, Sylvia raises her right hand when she says "Its reform". When the shot changes she has her left hand raised and her right hand is on her hip.

The Nanny Napper - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: In the kitchen, when Fran and Maxwell are tidying up, Maxwell picks up the bottle of chocolate sauce from the table. When he walks to the sink, the bottle is suddenly back on the table, and a few shots later Fran picks it up again.

Making Whoopi (3) - S6-E8

Continuity mistake: Just before the end credits start rolling, CeCe is sitting at the kitchen table. Yetta walks towards her with half a cookie in her left hand and the box in her right hand. She moves the box to her left hand so the cookie and the box are both in her left hand. Then she puts her right hand on CeCe's shoulder and suddenly the cookie is in that hand.

My Fair Nanny - S1-E3

Visible crew/equipment: In the beginning when Niles lets C.C. in the house and she puts an envelope on the table, you can see a crew member start to step out through the hall in the background and step back real quick. Then as C.C. starts to walk back to the door, you can see them step back out to cross over.

Tattoo - S4-E9

Other mistake: In this episode, Maxwell finds out about Fran's tattoo. Fran mentions that her tattoo was on her behind. Maxwell spends the episode trying to see it but in Season 3 and Episode 26, when the Sheffields are in the beach, Fran strips down to her bikini in front of Maxwell. Maxwell checked her from behind, meaning he should have been able to have seen her tattoo.

Suggested correction: As soon as it cuts from the show's intro to the first shot in the kitchen, we see Fran buckling her old zebra-striped belt around her waist. When Niles picks up the artificial lemon tree we see Fran touching her belt, and as the camera faces Niles when he exits the kitchen Fran unbuckles her belt offscreen. In the next shot Fran's zebra-striped belt is in her hand, and she places it back in the box of her old stuff from her Ma's house. No continuity issue. Starting time code 00:03:35.

My Fair Nanny - S1-E3

Revealing mistake: Ms Babcock enters the house and stands by the small table You can see Maggie in the hallway behind her come out for her scene too early and duck back out of sight, and then quickly re-enter the scene just as the camera pans away. (00:07:20)

Fransom - S5-E4

Continuity mistake: When Mr. Sheffield is running towards the van to rescue Fran and Val, the kidnapper is watching him through binoculars but is looking through a window in the opposite direction that Mr. Sheffield is actually coming from. Mr. Sheffield is coming up the back and the guy is looking out of the side towards the front of the van but is still telling the girls what Mr. Sheffield is doing.

Brighton Sheffield: Yeah, it just so happens that your voice carries.
Fran: To your bedroom?
Brighton Sheffield: To Michigan.

Show generally

Question: This might be a stupid question, but why do all three of the children speak in typical American voices? Wouldn't their speech have a British influence because of their father, and also Niles?

Answer: Children's brains and language skills are still developing at that age and they adapt to the environment they live in. My former boss was born in England and moved to the US at about eight years old. She completely lost her British accent by her teens, even though her parents still spoke as typical English citizens. A Japanese co-worker and his wife, also Japanese, spoke English as their second language. Their two children learned both English and Japanese simultaneously while growing up and spoke each language with the appropriate accent.

Answer: Kids tend to take on the accident of where they live. I once had a British student who lost his accent after a couple of years in the US.

Brian Katcher

Not just where they live, but also after their peers (who live there, but you know what I mean).

KeyZOid

Answer: Not necessarily. Their late mother being American would've probably made the most impact on their speech, considering most kids spend most of their early years more with their mothers than fathers.

Rob245

Gracie is young enough that she doesn't remember her mother. The episode "I Don't Remember Mama" was about this.
