My Fair Nanny - S1-E3

Corrected entry: In the scene at the breakfast table where the family is discussing wether or not Maggie should become a debutante, Fran refers to Maggie as Angela, the name of the actress who plays Maggie.

Correction: It's a litte hard to hear but (also according to the subtitles) Fran says "But, angel, I think, .". And the first name if the actress who plays Maggie is Nicholle.

My Fair Nanny - S1-E3

Corrected entry: Nile's opens the door for CeCe. She walks into the room where everyone is sitting. Behind her you see someone hidden by the wall and then run across the hall opening.

Correction: It is Maggie who is walking back there.

Bowling255

Bowling 255 is correct. I went back and rewatched this scene and it is indeed Maggie in her peach shirt and plaid pants. She hesitates as she walks out, so it does look like an accident. She steps back and then walks out again, but the scene cuts to her already standing by the stairs. So this is actually a continuity error.

The Engagement - S5-E15

Corrected entry: At the very beginning of the episode Fran thanks Max for telling her he loves her, and Gracie says she's sick of hearing it, and she walks into the living room. In the next scene, Fran tells everyone in the family that Max said he loved her and Gracie is surprised, like she never heard it before.

Correction: Maxwell actually tells them he told Fran he loved her and didn't take it back. In a previous episode he confesses his love for her and later retracts his feelings. Gracie is reacting to the news that he has finally committed to Fran.

Correction: Fran's bubbe (Yiddish for grandmother) Sophie is dead though, this is mostly likely a reference to her.

Who is Sophie? Fran's Grandmas are Nettie Fine and Yetta Rosenberg. Both are alive.

Bishop73

Bubbie Sophie is mentioned in S4xE4 The Rosie Show. She's portrayed in the dream cemetery sequence by Fran Drescher. I believe that Bubbie Sophie is meant to be Yetta's mother, so Fran's great-grandmother, and she may have died right before Fran was born, or when Fran was a baby.

Corrected entry: Whenever we see the exterior of the Sheffield townhouse, there are four floors. But inside, there are only two floors. And we never hear about a neighbor that might live in a separate townhouse upstairs.

Correction: Just because they don't show the whole house in a way that you understand doesn't mean it isn't there. The place is basically only one room wide. The living room is on the ground floor. The kitchen and probably Nile's room is downstairs. There have to be at least 5 more bedrooms (Dad, 2 daughters, son, nanny), and I recall Cece living there too at one point, so considering an average of 2 rooms bathrooms per floor that's at least 3 more floors - there's at least 5 floors worth of rooms that must be there.

Myridon

Maggie the Model - S1-E13

Corrected entry: In the office, when Maxwell's phone on his desk rings, the ringing sound is an old-fashioned telephone bell, although the phone is a modern electronic one.

Correction: Many electric telephones can be programmed to have various rings. The telephone in this scene could have been programmed to sound like an old fashioned phone.

Franny and the Professor - S3-E2

Continuity mistake: At the end of this episode Fran is on the phone with the people from Jeopardy saying she only got 5 boxes of the rice-a-roni but when they show her again talking to Maxwell, Fran now has 6 boxes of rice-a-roni.

Question: This might be a stupid question, but why do all three of the children speak in typical American voices? Wouldn't their speech have a British influence because of their father, and also Niles?

Answer: Children's brains and language skills are still developing at that age and they adapt to the environment they live in. My former boss was born in England and moved to the US at about eight years old. She completely lost her British accent by her teens, even though her parents still spoke as typical English citizens. A Japanese co-worker and his wife, also Japanese, spoke English as their second language. Their two children learned both English and Japanese simultaneously while growing up and spoke each language with the appropriate accent.

raywest

Answer: Kids tend to take on the accident of where they live. I once had a British student who lost his accent after a couple of years in the US.

Brian Katcher

Not just where they live, but also after their peers (who live there, but you know what I mean).

KeyZOid

Answer: Not necessarily. Their late mother being American would've probably made the most impact on their speech, considering most kids spend most of their early years more with their mothers than fathers.

Rob245

Gracie is young enough that she doesn't remember her mother. The episode "I Don't Remember Mama" was about this.
