Continuity mistake: While Chloe and Clark are on the horses, and Chloe is talking about the surveyors from Rickman Industries, when the shot is on Chloe's side, Clark is holding his reins in his right hand which is resting on top of his left. When the shot switches to Clark's side, as Chloe continues the story, and now Clark's right hand is under his left.
Continuity mistake: When Kyle goes to confront Rickman about coming to Smallville, Kyle is talking about how Rickman agreed not to do anything in Smallville and Kyle is pointing with his left hand. When the shot switches he is now pointing with his right.
Continuity mistake: When Clark is in hospital after being thrown to land on the roof of the car his mum is helping him put a shirt on. He puts it over his right shoulder and the shot changes, his arm is all of a sudden in the sleeve.
Revealing mistake: When Clark gets hits by lightning whilst trying to save Eric, you can see that Eric is a stunt double.
Audio problem: When the thief with one arm tells his other two buddies to "check this out" the shot switches to the right side of him. In that shot you can see this guy say "check this out" again.
Continuity mistake: After the encounter in the meat locker, Lex and Clark talk outside Fordman's store. As Lex turns to leave there is a truck driving down the street in Clark's direction. When the camera switches to Clark, the truck, which should be in this shot going behind Clark, is nowhere to be seen.
Continuity mistake: When we first see the meteorite tattoos on Wade Mahaney, they are all green. When Clark sees Whitney's tattoo, it is plain black. It was also faded, which means it's not a fresh tattoo. Whenever Clark runs into the other guys, he feels the effects of the meteor rocks, but never when he is alone with Whitney.
Audio problem: The CD playing in Lex's car is heard at exactly the same volume and quality from outside the car when Lex has his windows up and when he rolls one down. (00:10:20)
Continuity mistake: The lime slices on the side of Lex's and Amanda's drinks, in Club Zero, change position between shots.
Continuity mistake: While Lana is climbing the windmill, just before she stops a shot from below shows her right foot right above her left foot. The camera switches to above her and suddenly her left foot is a full rung above her right foot. (00:27:10)
Revealing mistake: When Lana throws a glass bottle at Lex (in the Talon) it smashes against the wall. But if you look closely Lana drops the bottle just before she throws it.
Continuity mistake: When Chloe is first asking Pete and Clark the questions for her poll you can see that the top page on her clipboard is yellow. Then she shows it to Lana and the camera gives you a nice big shot of the front piece of paper and it is white. When Chloe says "its unleashing the inner Lana." the front of the clipboard is shown again and now the paper is yellow.
Continuity mistake: When Lana and Clark are sitting on the Windmill and the camera is facing them close up you can see the shadow of the windmill moving in the wind but when the camera zooms out the windmill is not moving at all.
Continuity mistake: Fordman's, the store Whitney is helping his father run, is directly across the street from The Talon. The store has a big blue sign out front with "Fordman's" written in large white letters. After Lana steals Lex's car, she drives down the street and the store is nowhere to be seen on the other side of the street.
Answer: In the comics, Krypto is a dog from Krypton who was used as the passenger in a test launch by Jor-El, Superman's father, before he launched the actual rocket taking his infant son to Earth. Krypto's capsule was involved in a mishap, sending it out of Kryptonian orbit and eventually found its way to Earth where he linked up with the young Clark Kent. Like any native of Krypton, Krypto has superpowers on Earth. In Smallville, the dog is a standard Earth dog who has been experimentally injected with kryptonite, giving him super-strength for a limited period of time, who escapes and links up with Clark (who suggests the name Krypto, ostensibly because of the dog's cryptic origins). It doesn't take too long for the dog's strength to fade, and the Kents decide to keep him, although they ultimately name him Shelby, after a dog that Martha Kent had in childhood.
