CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

Overload - S2-E3

Other mistake: When Grissom goes to the crime scene to investigate, he finds the worker's drill hanging over the edge, still plugged in. Dropping the drill (35-45 pounds) 5-6 feet (the height of the worker) over the edge would have ripped the plug from the outlet and cause the drill to fall all the way to the ground with the victim. (Grissom barely puts any effort into unplugging the drill when he inspects it).

Alter Boys - S2-E6

Other mistake: In the scene where Grissom is talking to the coroner about the man who was shot and strangled with his tie, you can see the actor that played the body breathing. (00:07:30 - 00:08:00)

Revenge Is Best Served Cold - S3-E1

Other mistake: Stokes tells "Michaelangelo" he is looking for a blue Honda, blue rims, blue tint. The picture Michaelangelo shows Stokes and Willows is an Acura RSX, not a blue Honda. (Note: The red Honda that the victim was driving is not the one that Stokes is looking for.) Just because the two car brands are owned by the same parent company does not mean that they are interchangeable when describing them. You certainly couldn't call a Cadillac a GM and not be considered wrong even though they are both made by the same parent company (GM).

Random Acts of Violence - S3-E13

Other mistake: Just after they arrest the Janitor, they are walking out of the building past the employee's. The girl sitting at her chair is not actually typing on her keyboard, her fingers never even press on the keys and her screen-saver is displayed on the screen. (00:37:15)

Jackpot - S4-E6

Other mistake: When Grissom's vehicle is shown driving to Jackpot, Nevada, he is shown to be driving on the wrong side of the road. (00:03:15)

Coming of Rage - S4-E10

Other mistake: This episode has four teenagers beat a contemporary to death with hammers, following a practice session with a pile of water melons. The boy is beaten to death sometime during the weekend, - probably on the Saturday.Prior to that is the practice session with the melons, which must be the Friday evening at the latest. The room with the melons is searched on a school day, Monday at the earliest. Yet the melons, in all that Nevada heat after lying around for three days, are still fresh looking, and there are no flies or other insects swarming over the juicy remains.

Bad Words - S4-E19

Other mistake: In the flashback that shows Adam Brenner playing his opponent using the word "Exvin", we can see that the X is also used in "Juxtapose". When the opponent adds an S to "Exvin", he is challenged and made to take back his tiles. However, the X would remain where it is because it is a part of another word. Since the opponent plays a word using an X later in the game ("Loxodrome"), we know that he must have taken back the X as well. However, that cannot be the case as then "Juxtapose" would not be able to stand without the X. He couldn't play it as part of "Exvin" due to the existence of the word Antothenics underneath Juxtapose.

Suggested correction: I think they were implying that he played a second ex and that's what prompted them to look to see which tiles were missing from the suspects game. Since there were two x's used in the game and there's only X in each set it implies they thought someone was bringing tiles in from another set, and then they looked at the suspect set to see if any tiles were missing.

Turn of the Screws - S4-E21

Other mistake: When the CSIs arrive to take in the accident scene from the Pharoah's Fury rollercoaster, the victims are covered in associated wounds and blood, from such a derailing accident. Yet no brain matter seen anywhere. When in a prior take, two of the rail cars had crashed face down into parked cars and pavement. While two other victims were thrown from railcars while in midair.

Spark of Life - S5-E18

Other mistake: Episode 18 Season 5 "Spark of Life": Late in this episode, the CSI crew is sitting around discussing the case. Sarah Sidle summarizes the facts in the case, including making the comment that Tara Matthews was attacked by the truck driver "just before her death"; in actuality, while Tara was severely burned, she remained alive in the hospital throughout the entire episode.

Grave Danger (2) - S5-E25

Other mistake: There is no way a body can be pulled out of a grave the way they showed. It would be a pretty tough trick to pull off with a 6', 200lb piece of lumber and virtually impossible with a body. If it was a solid, non-flexible piece of material, pulling on the rope would drag the item until it hit a ledge and then flip it out of the grave. The body is very flexible, especially at the waist. You'd have to pull a body from above, which they end up doing in real life.

A Bullet Runs Through It (Part 1) - S6-E7

Other mistake: "A Bullet Runs Through It," part 1; while Catherine is in the lab reviewing the audio tape of the police call to dispatch, the dispatcher claims that the first call she received was at 6:34. First, her lips do not match what she is saying and then when they show the screen with the audio playing, the screen reads "first call 5:43."

Leaving Las Vegas - S7-E11

Other mistake: When the kid Billy is recounting the murder scene, he states the killer grabbed a cookie from within the cow cookie jar. When Katherine lifts the lid afterwards, we see bloody fingerprints up inside the top, instead of on the lid. Indicating the killer had to have carelessly reached inside the cookie jar with his fingertips, which would have been impossible.

Big Shots - S7-E19

Other mistake: When CSI Brown is with the mother of the alleged victim, he shows her a picture of the deceased and asks if she knows her. The name on the picture is the one the mother gives (Simone Molinez). How would the correct name be in the picture if the victim had yet to be identified? (00:17:35)

The Good, the Bad, and the Dominatrix - S7-E23

Other mistake: In episode "The Good, the Bad and the Dominatrix" When the son goes to the bank he tells the manager that there was a million dollars in that account last week, there was 843,508.00 taken out leaving a balance of 31,053.86. That only adds up to 874,561.86. Not a million dollars. He doesn't say close to a million dollars He says there was a million dollars in that account.

Say Uncle - S9-E6

Other mistake: When Brass is asking if a witness or someone they are speaking with knows the victim, you can see the victim's name on the bottom of the crime scene photo before brass is supposed to know the identity of the victim.

Coup de Grace - S10-E4

Other mistake: Season 10, episode 4 "Coup de Grace": When Nick is doing the phenolphthalein test on the q-tip, it turns pink immediately and starts to overflow pink coloring all the way down the side of the stick, which is not how that test works. Normally it takes a few seconds and only turns color around where the blood is.

Doctor Who (1) - S10-E22

Other mistake: In the first scene when we see Dr Langston from behind as he's watching people passing by he's wearing glasses but when we see his face he's not wearing any. (00:00:15)

Too Tough to Die - S1-E16

Character mistake: Seven minutes into the show, Sarah Sidle is about to do an internal sexual assault exam/kit on an unconscious victim in the hospital, Sarah picks up a metal speculum and says aloud to the victim (in a presumed moment of empathy), that she "never really liked this part of my yearly exam. These things are always freezing" referring to the speculum in her hands. She then brings a speculum to her mouth and begins to blow open-mouthed on it two times, forcing her hot breath on it to warm it. She then begins to insert it into the victim as the scene cuts away. This is pure stupidity, as no trained CSI would ever contaminate the tool like this. Sarah just added her own DNA to the speculum via her breath so any saliva or body fluids are now on the speculum what she is about to use on this patient, who is now also exposed to any STDs from Sarah.

Sounds of Silence - S1-E20

Trivia: For those who don't (or can't) read American Sign Language, at the end of the episode, Grissom says to Dr. Gilbet is that his mother lost her hearing when she was eight years old. He once asked her what is it like to be deaf, and she told Grissom (who loved to swim) that it was like being underwater. She also taught him that being deaf does not make one inferior to others. Dr. Gilbert then replies that she teaches her students the same lesson.

Suckers - S4-E13

Question: After finding out that Ty was committing insurance fraud, why did Grissom walk away instead of arresting him?

Answer: He doesn't have the authority to arrest him - when anyone is arrested in the show, a police officer does it. Also he tells Ty that he is going to be submitting his case findings to Ty's insurance company, who would no doubt contact the IRS, who then would have him arrested for fraud etc.
