Continuity mistake: While Niles, Daphne, and Clive are sitting on the couch talking, the large book on the coffee table goes from closed to opened during the scene, even though no one touches it.
Continuity mistake: Just before Eddie drops his master's slippers by his chair, Marty moves his cane over to the other side of the chair. The handle is facing outward, but when the shot changes, it is now towards the couch, even though Marty didn't touch it again.
Continuity mistake: When Frasier is in the men's room crying to Frasier about Sharon, he has toilet tissue in his hand which sometimes is bunched up and sometimes is hanging about 10 inches down, even though he never changes it.
Continuity mistake: The gang is reading through the script and Roz cues Bulldog and as she does we can see Gil has his script opened up on his knee. As the shot goes to Bulldog, Gil's script is now folded over and his pencil is in his right hand. He wouldn't have had time to change position.
Continuity mistake: During breakfast, there is a bowl of scrambled egg next to Martin that moves itself around, and at one point the fork in it just vanishes and then reappears.
Continuity mistake: Martin goes out to a baseball game with a famous writer that Frasier and Niles admire. While he is out, they read one of his books he accidentally left behind. When the author returns, he ends up holding the pages of the book in his hand, whilst standing in front of the fireplace. In one shot he is holding them in his left hand, but when the view cuts to another angle, he has them in his right hand. This occurs just before he goes outside to throw the pages off the balcony. (00:20:25)
Continuity mistake: While Marty and Daphne are watching the basketball game on TV, he says "it's completely different", the remote suddenly appears on the table beside him; it wasn't there before and wasn't in his hand. A couple of shots later, when he yells "unbelievable!" it's gone again.
Dad Loves Sherry, the Boys Just Whine - S4-E9
Continuity mistake: When Sherry brings in the bottle of wine, it's in a paper bag which is twisted around the bottle when she puts it on the coffee table. The next shot shows the bag has been loosened around the bottle and is quite wrinkled. No one touched it in that short time.
Dad Loves Sherry, the Boys Just Whine - S4-E9
Continuity mistake: When Sherry first meets Frasier and Niles, she puts her coat down towards the center of the couch. A few shots later, although no one has moved it, it shifts to the left and her purse, which wasn't visible before, can be seen.
Dad Loves Sherry, the Boys Just Whine - S4-E9
Continuity mistake: In Frasier's apartment, Sherry has just been introduced. Marty has a glass of wine down on the dining room table, next to another one. In the next shot the glass has shifted considerably, but the camera angle has remained the same.
Liar! Liar! - S4-E10
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the show, the KCAL gang are in Frasier's apt. celebrating the SeaBee awards. Bulldog is gloating about his win. At one point he has his left hand out in front of him and up in the air - the next shot the same hand is behind his back.
Continuity mistake: When Lilith and Frasier are at Dr. Campbell's (the first time), he makes them tea. A shot shows him preparing it, pouring it, etc. But in the next shot, Frasier and Lilith are already holding their cups. There was not enough time for him to have passed them the cups.
Dad Loves Sherry, the Boys Just Whine - S4-E9
Continuity mistake: Frasier tells his father Maureen wants to break up with him, and Marty heads for the kitchen, leaving his blue container of stomach medicine on the credenza. But as Marty passes by the dining room table, he suddenly has the container in his hand again.
Roz's Turn - S4-E17
Continuity mistake: When Frasier is comforting Roz about not getting the job, the blue cassette on top of the tape machine moves from one end to the other, and the white label on the end is no longer visible.
Three Dates and a Breakup (1) - S4-E19
Continuity mistake: At his party, Frasier's bragging to Niles how he's catnip to women while Niles is holding his glass in his left hand. As he replies, "I think I feel a hairball coming up", his wine glass switches to his right hand.
Roz's Turn - S4-E17
Continuity mistake: When Roz begins her mock interview with Frasier, Niles is holding the microphone in her direction. After she says "from Bellingham", he moves it to the left for Frasier's answer. But the next shot shows that the mike is still pointed at Roz, and then we see Niles move it to the left again.
Roz's Turn - S4-E17
Continuity mistake: When Frasier and Roz are in his kitchen talking about audition tapes, sometimes he is holding a glass of sherry and sometimes he is not; it is not a case of him putting it down, as the scene goes to quickly for that. During the same scene, Roz's beer switches hands, and there was no time for that either.
Continuity mistake: During the closing credits, Niles brings a breakfast tray into his dining room and puts it down in front of Marta, who is reading a newspaper. When she puts the paper down, there is a rose lying on the tray - in the previous shot there had been no rose, but there had been several pill bottles there which have mysteriously disappeared.
Continuity mistake: While Marty is reading Daphne's novel to her, his beer can moves from one side of his table to the other, without him touching it.
Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the show, Daphne, Niles, Sherry, and Martin are in Frasier's bathroom where he is trying to take a bath. He starts talking to Sherry - she is sitting on the ledge at the end of the tub. From one shot to the next she has her left leg crossed over her right, then her right over her left, and then both legs uncrossed. She did not have time to shift her position and there is no "residual movement" that would have been natural had she been fidgeting while he talked to her.
Answer: Nanny G (Nanette Guzman - played by Laurie Metcaf) has been a children's entertainer for twenty years, and tells Frasier, "Do you know what it's like to play the same character for 20 years?!" The joke is that Kelsey Grammer has been playing Frasier Crane since 1984, when the character first appeared on "Cheers", so Kelsey in real life has been doing just that!
