Question: Was Nina recruited as a spy before she joined CTU or after? Also, as she wasn't working just for the Drazens, what was her primary mission?
Question: Did the actress who plays Nina know the entire time that she was supposed to be bad, or was this written into the show mid-season?

Question: Why does Kim tell Rick that her Dad is dead?
Answer: The sympathy vote. She liked him and wanted to score with him. By saying that, she figured he would maybe hug her or hold her or something.
Question: Kevin Carroll was impersonating Alan York, Janet York's father. When Janet is in the hospital and her "father" visits her, shouldn't Janet have been able to tell that that wasn't her real father?
Answer: That's why he killed her. When he entered her hospital room she was drowsy and didn't realise straight away that he was not her real father - he suffocated her before she could tell anyone.
Question: Why was Carlos Bernard credited as a "Special Guest Star"?
Chosen answer: Without talking to the producers, it's impossible to be sure, but it's possible he was gonna be killed off early, or only appear in a few episodes. As the show developed he developed into a more stable character and became a regular cast member.
Question: Does the main twist at the end actually make any sense? Could Nina really have been working against Jack and is there any subtle evidence of this earlier on? It seemed to me like the ending was chosen because it was the most shocking, but the least logical. Some examples of Nina trying to hinder Jack or just acting suspiciously would be appreciated.
Answer: The producers actually decided on this twist half way through the season. I'm unsure about the upcoming season five, but in the past, the writing team have only written six or seven episodes at a time and then deciding where to go next whilst filming. An example of Nina acting suspiciously would be when she left Kim and Teri at the safehouse fairly soon before it was attacked. Although it seemed that she left due to Teri's realisation that it was Nina who was seeing Jack during their separation, this has been cited as a red herring - more likely is that she left them and told the bad guys where they were.

Question: If Nina wasn't working for the Drazens, then why was she the one calling to tell them about Jack's movements, and Palmer's faked death?
Answer: If she was a mole inside CTU, why couldn't she have been a mole inside the Drazens?
Question: Who were the unidentified shooters that killed Richard Walsh and Scott Baylor?
Answer: You answered the question yourself. They were unidentified. They were probably some kind of Delta Unit or even hired goons, but they aren't mentioned again.
Question: Which episodes of 24 were submitted for its Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series?
Answer: The whole series was considered for the Outstanding Drama Series award. For the Outstanding Directing in a Drama series award it was the 10-11pm episode that was nominated.
Answer: According to Jack in season 5, Nina was "deep cover" before the pair ever met, so it's safe to assume she was recruited before she joined CTU. As for what her primary mission was, who knows? Perhaps it was to gather sensitive intel and pass it on to her superiors. Given that she worked for an intelligence agency, it's not a stretch. Or perhaps we may find out in season seven.
