Continuity mistake: When Tommy quizzes Max on his information on Pokémon, a girl with red hair in a ponytail with white shirt is sitting behind him, but in the next shot, her shirt is yellow and has pink hair without a ponytail. Also, Max's body is facing the front of the classroom with his head not turned to Tommy, but in the next shot, his body faces to the left with his head facing Tommy. (00:07:00)

Revealing mistake: When Ash says, "No problem!" in response to Roxanne asking if it is all right to postpone his match at the Rustboro Gym, Pikachu's mouth duplicates. Also, Ash and Roxanne go from being 90 centimetres from each other to being 30 centimetres away. Additionally, the former's bag goes from being present to vanishing. (00:06:18)

Continuity mistake: When Ash says, "Oh, sure," the top left part of the wall behind him goes from being red slats to being a cream wall. Also, the right part of the wall goes from having no slats after Ash's bag to having some. Additionally, Ash's marks go from being absent to being present. (00:06:08)

Other mistake: During the Pokérap, when the Poliwrath name is said, the Pokémon shown is actually Poliwag. Also, when the Graveler name is said, the Pokémon shown is actually Geodude.
